Cost of lumber now is eyeopening. Wonder if a premade shed from the Amish might be a good solution, or perhaps that's what
your wife already showed you. Need to find someone with existing stockpile of wood from over a year ago...
How many horses are going to fit under this thing?

Good morning! 34˚F heading to the upper 60s. Very light North wind changing to South wind by noon.
Buppies Forecast thru March 3 look normal, no freezing. Is the next big drop going to be after the 3rd?
I might venture out to the stores today to see if they are restocked but I'm not standing in an outside line. Haven't had to go to the store now for 9 days.
We did not have to boil water but areas around here did and now we are on water restrictions till Wednesday while they pressures back up.
Looks like the Firewise will be working on broken and downed tree limbs in the neighborhood. Waiting for word on the park for this week.
I need to run to Giddings for seed potatoes to plant as soon a Buppies gives the go ahead.

It has been raining. I forgot to tip up the tractor seat when I finished yesterday ... thankfully it isn't frozen and can just be dried off with a towel ... :thumbsup:

Good morning. It's 48° here and our high should be about 71° this afternoon. We've got a 3 mph north wind so .. if it stays calm I might light one of the 4 brush piles this morning.

I woke up early and watched the NG Cygnus Space Freighter approach the ISS, get grappled by the Canada 2 Arm (3:40 a.m. CST) and ultimately dock at about 7:15 a.m. The video was very good but .. I may need a nap.

Tires on the LS 55 HP tractor are thawed and ready to go today. I've got some tree limbs that I trimmed Saturday / Sunday to pickup and add to one of the brush piles.

I love seeing deer. But unlike when we first built this place in 2002, we haven’t been seeing much in the year that I’ve been up here escaping Covid. Did finally see it a Wolf, however. Magnificent!

Meanwhile, enjoying my first big cup of coffee, and it is snowing heavily. We will get maybe a total of 4 inches. And the weather has gotten dramatically warmer. It will even be above zero today, for the first time in I don’t know how long!

Will definitely sit out on the dock and watch the sunset this afternoon, with the wife. She is so happy to be home again from Calgary. So am I.

38 going to 49 with a 100% chance of rain, 1/2” expected. As cold as it’s been I’m actually getting patches of green grass.

They are digging holes by all the telephone poles on my road, Gracie is not happy.

I found out that when my brother built his tractor shed, it’s about twenty feet onto what is now my property. No idea if he knew it at the time. It’s on the shortest side of the property, which is kind of odd shaped anyway in that area, so to avoid any drama I’m just going to deed him fifty feet down that line. That will give him about 12,500 sq ft that he didn’t have, and give him access to the pond once I sell mine. And to avoid any custody battles, I’m going to give him my share of the gators, coyotes and cottonmouths.

Mostly, I was reading about your bike repair and it reminded me of an early go kart build of mine. It had a huge starter motor from a diesel truck and a big Caterpillar battery, when I got it, it had pulleys and a belt. I made an adapter and used the crank sprockets and derailleur hanger from an old 10 speed, mounted to bracket and used a sprocket on the axle to make it a two speed. I don’t need a clutch since it was 12v power.
It took days to get it all to work and you could still miss a shift, but it was cool.

Until so called green fuels are self sustaining, as in likely never, Kyle is 100% correct.

Nah ... we need to start moving away from dirty fossil fuels now, while we have the cushion of existing resources.

We need judicious use of those old resources, conserving them for as long as possible ...

Have you checked the carbon footprint of windmills, solar panels and electric cars? They can't mine, transport and build themselves, they can't recharge themselves, etc...

There was someone coming up my drive.
We are not allowed to feed deer in Michigan. So all they get is dropping from feeders. I put a handful in that feed everyday for squirrels.
