28 and some sunshine. Looking for 51.

Bird, sorry to hear your news...hope those meds work.

Stayed too windy all day yesterday for things planned for the tractor, so took the bush axe for a walk and chopped some 1" to 2" poison ivy vines on the pines that the ice storm took down last month. I'll go back with the chain saw once the ground is firm there and use the grapple to move them.

Brought in a few wheelbarrows of firewood...my pallets are getting bare. I'm way behind on filling them for next year due to the weather and soft ground...and the red maples are already beginning to flower so sap is rising. There is a big Maple Syrup Festival in Highland County, up in the far mountains, in mid-March...but it was cancelled this year due to the C. virus. Thomas and Roy, I bet there are lots of those festivals up your way. Nothing better than New Hampshire maple syrup.

Good morning, -4°F and only going to 19. Wind N 12 gusting to 19 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

A dump run today and town. I need to get to the bank, get some money to put down on a new Drolet wood furnace. Just a couple of hundred should do it.

Any of you that eat breakfast sandwiches at Tim Hortons need to be very careful and smell the eggs BEFORE you eat them. I got into a bad couple of egg sandwiches from them two days ago and have been 'paying for them' ever since. I thought they smelled a little bit strong, but didn't heed what my nose was telling me. NEVER again. McDonalds here I come. This is directed at Industrial Tools & check. They both live up here in TH country. I do have a complaint in to TH, but I doubt very much if they will get back to me.

Have a safe day all

Hey, thanks for the heads-up Bill! I will definitely stay away. (The hash browns at McDonalds are better anyway, and my wife likes the Mc coffee better, too!)

Have a nice day, guys - Spring is on the way!

Good Morning
It’s 29 and snowing. Fortunately it’s just a passing shower and not a real snow event. The forecast high is 36 with partly cloudy skies.

Yesterday was a lazy day, dealt with a leaking circulator at my neighbors, did a little refrigeration work at the restaurant, but the high light was trying to explain file organization and storage structure to my wife.
She is constantly “losing” things on her computer, and then getting mad about it. I think that we actually made progress, she now understands basic folder and file structure and where the default locations are. Time will tell.

The ground here is still largely snow covered and frozen, so there isn’t much to do outside. If nothing else comes up, I’ll probably tinker and cleanup in the shop.

All appointments were taken when I checked at 5:30 this morning.

Ron, good news on test. No aliens...
Bill, sorry you got sick. Salmonella can make you very sick for several days. This is a reminder to wash your hands after handling eggs and chicken,
particularly chicken. The US for some reason does not enforce mandatory salmonella prevention in our chickens the same way Europe does.
Likely due to Perdue lobbying. The rationale is that salmonella dies in cooking. Ok, but meanwhile you have it on your hands from the raw meat.
Something like 90 percent of the raw chicken in the US has traces of salmonella. Appetizing?
I try to use a fork and not touch the chicken before cooking, then the fork goes right into dishwasher.

Great advice, Drew. We eat A LOT of chicken, and I am always very careful about wash-up. And don’t forget to wash the whole sink with soapy water after - a lot of people forget about this, and also forget to wash the dishcloth out with soap after.

Good morning! 47˚F heading to the mid 60s sunny skies, North wind at 10mph shifting easterly.
The yard grass is still brown so I mowed it another level shorter at the lowest level #1 on the ego mower.
I spent most of yesterday on the phone with AT&T soon to be my former phone company. They have become difficult to communicate with and very limited on what they can do. T-mobile has a 55 plan for seniors with half price on new phones I'm looking at.

It looks like 1-c in Texas will be essential workers, the vaccines are becoming more prevalent and I suspect by the end of the mont we will be starting 1-c. If you aer healthy, retired and under 65 you are at the bottom of the list, like my better half.

where the default locations are.
I have the same problem as your wife Paul.
Little gremlins reside in my pc and at night they move stuff around.
It's saved, but where? I wind up having to resave a bunch on my desktop just to make sure
I can find it. Software keeps chosing OneDrive, I want c:/doc or pics or whatever.
Gremlins, I'm sure of it.

New Dell pc shows up any day now.
Two year warranty against gremlins
After 8 years this current pc is seriously clogged up with with accumulated baggage, huge timely boot process, slowing down.
New one is fast and 500MB SSD and 2 TB storage. Hard to imagine outgrowing that.
Plus a much better video board to optimize this better monitor. Though it does say 3840x2160 when I right click the screen.

now to work on the Klipsch speakers and see what cable I'm missing, likely a simple stereo RCA.

David, probably too late now but I know there is a rule about warranty that if it is a known manufacturing fault then even if it is out of warranty it should be covered.
I had issues with Ford F Series manifolds cracking and took it up with them. They replaced all manifolds that cracked from there on for free. The vehicles were well out of warranty. (I looked after a fleet of them once)

Wow, Doug, how long ago was that? And I wonder if they would do the same thing here in Canada? (We do, after all, have the same Queen, LOL.)

I had a cracked manifold a couple of F150’s ago, and it was fixed under warranty. But my current F150 (with the 5.0 litre engine) is past the warranty date, and it would be nice to know if Ford would still fix a cracked manifold if it happened again.

I have a relatively complicated audio setup or my computer in the shop, but it works well. I have a rack mount audio interface, with multiple mic preamps as well as outputs. I use one set of outputs to drive a pair of studio monitors that I use for mixing audio, but also work well for general listening. Another set of outputs go across the room to line mixer that outputs to an old Peavey PA amp that drives speakers downstairs in the workshops or upstairs as desired. That line mixer also has inputs from an XM receiver, Cassette and CD/DVD and FIOS set top box as well as the computer.

In the house, it’s Bluetooth headphones and an iPad.

Good morning. It's 51° here this morning with a 9 mph NE wind. We should get to 67° this afternoon.

I did get two more brush piles burned Wednesday a.m. while we had no wind.

They were about 100 yards apart to easy to monitor both but I still offset lighting by about 30 minutes.

We had a few drying days so I'll attempt to extract a tree I took down about ten days ago.

IMG_2854.jpg

It's in an area ..that drains about 4-5 acre as of our front yard so I'm trying to avoid making large ruts.

I ordered two more 8' fixtures with 4 LED Tubes for the shop and they were delivered a couple of days ago. They match the five fixtures that run the length of the center of the shop and will be installed on the left side .. in the picture.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

.

That brought back a memory of me teaching my wife about formatting disk drives back in the DOS days.
C:\format a:

And she types in
C:\format c:

And wonders why I yelled.

I still loose files, even with a file system of organization.

Late Last night I was removing a database management application from my son’s new computer (he installed wrong one), and the curser jumped down a row unnoticed to me( using touchpad) when I right clicked and said remove, and I removed his MS office. Fortunately, log into his MS account, it has his license key and link to download, so an easy but slow fix. I was up till 2am. He’s up that late every night doing schoolwork.

Very sunny here this morning, but looks are deceptive - it's 28F @ 09:00 with winds out of the NW @ 10 - 20 mph. Feels like 23F out there.

So looking forward to warmer weather.

Did not get squirrel feeder refilled yesterday, so that will be near the top of the list today.

The swarms of blackbirds have all but disappeared ... mostly just the normal crew at this point.

Had a good long call/welfare check with some friends yesterday - they are doing well ... (y)

Fed four white worm containers which were finally ready for some food ... looks like they're shaping up to yield a bumper crop.

More gravel removed from living room tank yesterday and hauled downstairs to the stationary tubs and washed. Have one straggler to net out of there and move this morning and then can pull the rest of the stuff in the tank.

Need to check and see what pieces/lengths still need to be cut for the rest of the air and water line plumbing in the fish room. Don't think there's much left to do, just mostly on one wall to tie the loops together.

Also need to switch the softener over to bypass and draw water for the refill on the living room tank.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Saturday ... (y)

I qualify for 1c essential, but the cvs signup does not show that as a reason.
