Good morning!!!!

Good Friday Morning. It was 44° with only light winds this morning. Not a cloud in the sky so we'll see high 60's this afternoon. It's been very windy the last few days which is holding up burning brush piles. I have a wide defensive perimeter around my brush piles and won't light them if there's any wind.

Scorpions? Cedar products repel (don't kill) scorpions as well as snakes, mosquitos, moths, etc. remember grandma's cedar chest?

I'll hook my 14' trailer and head to the John Deere Dealer in Katy today .. to pick up two zero turn mowers .. that will be raffle prizes for our May VFD Fund raiser. We will be holding numerous raffle ticket sales events .. over the next 5 weeks.

Nothing much has changed here with masks etc. .. as predicted by the Governor .. when given the free choice .. most will continue to observe safe protocols. I was in the Columbus H-E-B on Wednesday and didn't see anyone w/o masks. I even saw a driving on I-10, by himself but .. still wearing a mask? His political bumper sticker .. was redundant.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

When I'm running errands in town, I'll jump on the freeway for just two or three exits sometimes, and don't bother taking my mask off for such a short hop. More a reflection on how much effort is it wrestling the straps on the mask than my political affiliation, me thinks... :ROFLMAO:

... and was appalled to pay fifty bucks for a pair of wiper blades. I’ve adjusted to $3 a gallon gas, but the wiper blades caught me by surprise.
I had to check out wiper blades for my Kia Stinger after your post and sure enough for 2 wiper blades $50. However on line I can buy just the left or just the right for about $5 ea.

I prefer gaiters .. over masks. Just pull them up and down with one hand.

Thread drift -
Whatever happened to refillable wiper blades?
I just looked up the blades for my 2019 Escape at parts geek.
Prices ranged from ~$5.50 to $20 EACH BLADE but none came as "refillables".
I used to buy refillable strips for a fraction of the price of a full blade. And they were a LOT easier to store.

$600 was the full amount of the second stimulus check. Did anyone else get a letter?

Edit - I just saw on the post office e-mail that I'm getting a letter from the Treasury Dept today.
Yep, we got a letter in mid-February saying we should get/have gotten that stimulus back on 1/1/21. The newer direct deposit hit the account 2 days ago.

Did you say 10 years to pay off the freeze?

Popgadget I was thinking what about the shipping so I went ahead to check out and found the amount to be a surprising $76. It was for the insert blade only and you must buy 10 +shipping. $50 dosen't sound too bad . . . .

Got my last pair of wiper blades at Costco...Michelin Guardian...right now they are $3 off, so $5.99 each. I've had them on for at least 6 months, maybe a year, through a lot of rain and I'm quite pleased...will pick up another pair next time my wife goes while still on sale.

Yes, electricity cost us $47.8 million that week to our "Green Energy Town - First in Texas". It will add $10 monthly to everyones electric bill for the next 10 years. So my $80 electric bill this month should have been $1280.00 (and I don't have electric heat). Stay away from that green energy, it's very expensive.

35F and sunny @ 11:00 but still pretty windy.

Got a PWC done yesterday on the fryeri tank, hope that - along with the white worm feeding the other day - will induce them to spawn. Have a few things to finish up in the living room tank today, including getting that canister filter back in operation. Also have some fish to juggle around.

Seems like the feeders should be due to be refilled.

Probably make that run up to CF and pick up that Menards order later on.

Tomorrow have heating/bending/welding project to fix a friend's bucket grapple that got bent up on a project. He recently got an Evolution cold saw ... so he's gonna bring that over and we'll do the unboxing on that and test 'er out.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)
