RS do the fryeri hold eggs till the hatch?

Typically, yes they do ... and then some.

When they hatch, they’re considered “wrigglers” - until the yoke sac is absorbed - then they become free-swimming.

With most mouth brooders the mothers will typically let them back in her mouth at least for a short time after they become free-swimming.

If the fry are smart though, they’ll find a place to hide.

Otherwise they become a food item (at least for the fryeri and other piscivores)

Should be a lovely day, sunny and warmer and I don't see any temps in the 30's in the 10 day.
Am thinking that will make it safe to plant...

I hope your plantings survived the cold.
No...I planted too soon and they all bit the dust. Will plant more tomorrow.

have a lot of fresh fruit to chop up this morning as that is my part of the Easter meal.
Will be first family get together in almost a year.

Lou, very nice truck. I really miss my hemi Ram...wish my brother hadn't sold it on me while I was in hospital.
But hope to be happy soon with Ridgeline, where I trade capability for comfort.
But that Ram is mighty comfortable too with coil spring suspension.

In another week this thread hits its 17th birthday.
I went back and clicked on Good Post to Irv's original thread starter. He deserves a little recognition here
for such a good idea. Happy Easter Irv.
Roy, David/Sodamo and Ron have been here since the first few days. (I'm sure I missed someone)
Quite a few others came in not long afterwards.
Pretty remarkable actually.
