45 going to 55 today with grey skies and intermittent rain.

Good thing I got all the mowing done Thursday. Yesterday was a good shop day, got to take all those clamps off the speaker and trim it all up.

There is an interesting back story to the song “Money for Nothing”. Knowing how it was written, I can’t help but chuckle every time I hear it. Here’s the story-

Knopfler then said there was a male employee dressed in a baseball cap, work boots, and a checkered shirt delivering boxes who was standing next to him watching. As they were standing there watching MTV, Knopfler remembers the man coming up with lines such as "what are those, Hawaiian noises?...that ain't workin'," etc. Knopfler then requested a pen to write some of these lines down and then eventually put those words to music.The first-person narrating character in the lyrics refers to a musician "banging on the bongos like a chimpanzee" and a woman "stickin' in the camera, man we could have some fun". He describes a singer as "that little faggot with the earring and the make-up", and bemoans that these artists get "money for nothing and chicks for free”

Drew. I remember when I was living at home (those were the days). We rolled sealer on the driveway for dad and watched the rain wash it all down the street. Funny the things you remember like it was yesterday.

I was surprised to get an email warning from Medicare to protect my card because theft of the cards is becoming a problem.

Other than recounting my experience with Covid last year. I stay out of the discussions. There are a lot of strong opinions and emotions involved.

But....my medical team is advising me against the vaccine due to their concern for a potentially adverse reaction to the vaccine from the level of antibodies in my body. They have dealt with some very serious reactions from other patients with high levels of antibodies who were early recipients of the vaccine.

Wow, Rich, that is the exact opposite of all of the other advice I have seen. In fact, my FIL who got Covid then received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, and he is fine.

Yes, I've seen that video of Knopfler talking about the dude. I love the Dire Straits. Got my daughter hooked on them too.

Headed south about a 100 mile drive, to visit mom. Will head back this evening. 15 yo daughter wants to drive.
