Good Morning!!!! 57 @ 3:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 78F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Beautiful day yesterday, not a cloud in the sky, balmy temps, and a nice cooling breeze.

Still no luck getting the tractor started, but got a comment on the Youtube video I posted suggesting there's an interlock on the backhoe/3PH system that may be the cause. 🤞that's it.

Went through a couple spools of line and a couple tanks of gas weed eating yesterday, and only got dumped on my butt once on the steep hillside. I can feel it today; guess I'm not made of rubber anymore. Probably have two more sessions to finish, but it's not as hard as I was thinking it would be. And my back's not complaining much.

Once it gets a little light in the sky I need to set a post at each corner of the water tank site and shoot a level with the laser so I know how deep to dig the terrace. All this time I'm spending on hillsides lately has me wondering if I'll end up with one leg shorter than the other. That's a reference to a cow joke my dad kept telling my mom and I on our many trips to West Virginia to visit grandma.😄

Covid restrictions on the big Memorial Day BMW motorcycle rally had them restricting attendance to 300 people, so I was on a wait list. Yesterday I got email with registration instructions, so somehow they were able to bump the numbers up. They didn't drop the fee, though. Gotta find some time to dust a bike off and start packing.

Wednesday already?

Not in my lifetime will I ever trust the morals of a German company. I may buy their product but I don't trust them.
That's a lesson I had to learn the hard way, too, Drew. But with BMW. Come to think of it, though, VW has been less than helpful with parts for the van. Very happy with most of the aftermarket vendors I've found, though, so the dealerships aren't all that relevant anymore. But if you've got a new vehicle, you better hope your dealer's sales manager and service manager will go to bat for you, because neither of those companies seem to give a rat's a$$ about you after they've got your money.

Ken, I don't envy your battle with poison ivy. I go hunting it with my backpack sprayer every summer.
I do the same with poison oak out here, Billy. What concoction do you use in your sprayer? Glyphosate seems to work, but it takes forever. Brush-B-Gone does a little better, and I haven't tried the 2-4-D in Diesel yet, so that's next.

Good morning, low temp 50 and high will be 75°F. Wind calm. Sunny! Not the hottest day as yesterday in the car it said 77.

Left arm sore today, nothing yesterday but this morning it sure is sore. Oh well it is a long way from my heart, so I suppose I will live.

I use my cane whenever I expect I will be standing for a long time and yesterday was no exception. There were about 100 people waiting in line 6' apart and me standing and leaning on my cane. An usher came along and sent me to the handicap line where there were 4 in front of me. One guy in front of me was on crutches and only had one leg...Now he deserved to be in that line, but I don't think I should have been. But it is all done now and I haven't grown 2 heads from the Phyzer vac.

A quick trip to North Bay to drop off my medical and drop into Wendys for some spicy chicken sandwiches.
I was going to drop it off In Orillia but the main drag was under construction and the detour spit me out after the place. So I continued on up to Huntsville and be dammed if the main drag there was tore up too and yet another detour. Missed the place there so I am hoping I can get into the one in North Bay.

The doctor I deal with for the medical says that the Ministry of Transport (DoT) will get a little snotty at age 80 about the medicals and probably demand they have their own doctors do one, so I will need to think about retiring my Class 'A' license in 5 years.

DIL is still waiting for someone in the Hospice to check out, she is first on the waiting list.

That sure is a good picture of the line inspector/tree rat, Ron.

Have a good day all

Good Morning
It’s 65 heading to 85 today, another day with clear skies.

Yesterday, got a lot done in the shop, picked up another load of mulch in the dump trailer, and spent some time with grandson enjoying the weather.
Today will likely be Groundhog Day except for picking up mulch and voting.

I’m very much a dog person, and have always had a dog as a companion. There is no explaining the bond between a dog and the human that it chooses. And the elephant in the room is that a very sad day will come, because we almost always outlive them. My Emily is a very young 8, but in the back of my mind I know that day will likely come much sooner than I would like. So I enjoy every day with her and ignore the elephant in the corner.

Good morning from Missouri.

Cloudy but no rain today. Temps in high 70’s. It’s supposed to get quite warm the next 5 days or so. Hopefully that will dry things a little.

Slow day today.

Nothing amazing in the few remaining boxes we hadn’t unpacked from the move. Just “stuff” as my wife says.

We are planning a bike trip in the afternoon and then a picnic in the back yard.

Looked online about my Medicare application. I applied May 1. The Medicare site says they “began reviewing part 2 of the 3 part verification process. It usually takes 2-4 weeks to verify”.

I hate waiting. My wife says I need more patience. She is right, of course, but it’s not like you can order more patience from Amazon.

Be safe all.

Good morning all. The day started with a beautiful sky, all blue except for the odd fluffy white cloud. Not sure if it was my wife that lured in the dark clouds by putting out the washing, or me with my welding. The rain started as I was half way round tacking up a square frame. Would you move your grinding and welding gear out of the rain first, or keep your wife happy by bringing in the washing without delay? We have damp washing :)

Managed to get out for half an hour's fly fishing yesterday evening. Didn't catch anything, but a few almost-takes on the surface made it plenty exciting. Would have stayed out longer, except a neighbour had lit up a bonfire and I discovered I was downwind.

Roy, sorry to hear about Bella.

I get a surgical consult for my boil. Never had that before but then if I ever had one it was when a kid and my mom put some sort of poultice on it. Not that I remember what was in it. Some grayish, sticky goup out of a metal squeeze tube if memory serves. Squeezed on, a couple of gauze pads, changed daily until gone.

Sodamo, magnesium sulphate was the thing we had for boils. At school I once had a boil at the top of my nose that decided to break open in spectacular fashion during a physics lesson. I hadn't realised until another kid pointed at me and then passed out at seeing my skin split open and an impressive core shoot out. Fortunately that was a few years before the film "Alien" was released, or I would have been given that nickname for sure.

Lot of confusion out there regarding masks. Quite the switch the CDC threw yesterday.
I can't find where they changed anything yesterday, just last week. What did they change?

time flies, you are right.

meanwhile waiting for less traffic after 9am I was too busy laughing at this while looking at naval ships on Youtube and this series of all
Japanese videos came up showing a female Captain of a Japanese naval ship. It was made for the local market and it
did not translate to English, but if you go into settings I forced it to translate to English.
And oh what fun that was.

This poor lady would be utterly mortified if she saw this.
Well good news I guess, despite being under pressure, her job won't require an enema.
Count your blessings lady and fair winds

No, your were right. After several searches I found that the CDC did slightly modify the restrictions for cruise ships yesterday - 5/18/21.

"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a small update on Tuesday to its Operations Manual that address the tests given to cruise passengers at the end of their sailing.

Last week, the CDC added new rules for the type of tests that are required for fully and unvaccinated passengers.

Fully vaccinated passengers do not need to be tested at all, but not fully vaccinated passengers would need to undergo a NAAT or antigen test on the first and last day of the cruise, as well as when transitioning on back to back sailings."

Morning all, sunny and warm today.
Had my first tick this morning, since my shoes are coated he was moving slow and did not get a hold on me.

Ron, all your squirrels look happy and photogenic
Wngsprd- The one in front was just my miss, the rest are in the forest and this is the first time going in that area. I do spray them first, if I find them before they find me

Stay safe and be well

I've never used anything but gly diluted to 2% and always gotten near a 100% kill of the plants I find on the first try. Does take a week or more to turn them yellow to brown...faster during the early growing season. Unless the wind picks up, I'm going out hunting today.

Sounds like there may be a market at your place for butt pads, kinda like knee pads.

Glad you're gonna get to go on the Memorial Day rally.

48 early, 73 now and 86 later. Taking it easy this morning, sitting on my deck with awning out watching my dog.

Might ride to Chincoteague after the cleaning lady comes. I haven’t had a Mr Whippy soft ice cream cone in over a year.

Nothing scheduled to work on today, (insert sigh of relief here).

We will see how it goes. Have a good one.

Get one for me, too!

Your landscaping looks good...you deserve a trip.

Lot of confusion out there regarding masks.

I had a dermatologist appointment this morning. I am relieved that there is nothing to worry about. The Dermatologist is a pretty smart guy. They are still in full covid protocol. Preregister online, call in when you arrive, Temperature taken at the door, Only 2 in the waiting room or you can wait in your car, everyone in the building wears a mask, plexiglass windows at the check out counter. They are still taking it seriously.

I'll be mowing the back yard after lunch despite the fact that it is expected to be in the mid 80s. We have had very little rain in the last 10 days but the grass is still growing.

78F and "Fair" @ 11:00, headed up to a high of 82F for the day.

Started the testing on the first soil sample yesterday (I took three sets of samples from different areas) ... I think it shows up as acidic (Woman says it's slightly acidic to acidic) and nitrogen depleted. Still have to test the phosphorus and potassium.

I just used cores that the aerator pulled up ... and after doing some further research on it, it seems like I probably should make a coring device that can pull a sample from a greater depth. Hard to imagine that a deeper sample would test any better, nutrient-wise though.

Plans for the day include put out suet feeders in back, finish up mowing (so I don't have to drive anywhere near places that I will spray later today), gather up the cut grass from one area that still needs sprayed, check sparrow trap (no captures yet as of yesterday evening), refuel Kubota, remove grapple from barn, spray fence line and center of path going down to pole barn, plus a few other areas that still need done.

There are still around 5 trees that are down on the path behind the pole barn that need removed and the branches that are encroaching on the path need trimmed back.

Need to check creek crossing area and see how it's drying up. There are some leaves in it that need raked out before it completely dries.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

66°F and .30 inches rain.

Busy day ahead. Off to Costco on Konaside. Also Hd over there and the Re Use store.

My Cottage tenant bought a used JD 2032r rather unexpectedly. Had cancelled his delayed Kubota order and talking getting a Scag and yesterday morning this became available. Originally bought 2015 and only 60 hours. Always garaged and good bundle of attachments. Said price was quite a bargain. Now we have to get it to his property .

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

good trip to local nursery, bought about a dozen plants and got all my gardens planted, now with new mulch can see where I'm going.
Plus couldn't resist a couple of Black Beauty eggplants and a thyme plant.
That fills it up, no more room in the inn.

dragged hoses and got everything watered. 87 out now and I'm pretty sweaty even in shorts and a tshirt.

I think I'm going to bake that pie I was going to with MIL and never did. Realized I didn't have a pie dish so ordered a blue porcelain one online and it's
sitting them waiting for me.
