Good morning. It's 62° with 100% humidity this morning. We had just under 6" of rain Monday / Tuesday so, pastures have lots of standing water. We had high winds Tuesday evening and several tornados in the area. One tree blown over and the top out of a large oak snapped off.

I'm going to let it dry out a few days before getting tractors out to clean everything up.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:30AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 69F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Another beautiful day yesterday, temps in the low 70s, a light breeze so the sun feels good on your skin. Today the temps will drop another 10 degrees as a low pressure system passes through. It's another dry one, though, so still no rain. But speaking of rain, a few minutes after I hit the sack last night, I thought I heard something on the porch roof. Looking out on the back patio, sure enough I could see rain drops. It lasted all of a minute, and not enough to even wet the concrete. Nothing showed up in the rain gauge, though.:(

Nice flower pics, Ron. Not surprised you can't get close with your long lens, and even that 200mm zoom doesn't seem like it would be good for macro work. Do you like making photos of tiny things? Might be time to go shopping for a dedicated macro lens. Back when I was shooting film, I even had a set of extension tubes for really close up shots. That ant would take up the whole frame.

That tip about the safety interlock on the tractor did the trick yesterday, and ten minutes later the backhow was mounted and working. I can't thank Jennifer Bond enough for passing along that little gem. I was starting to work through all the ignition cut off mechanisms, and there are more than a few. I eventually found a sentence referring to the starter cut off in the Kubota book on the backhoe, but it was in the REMOVAL section, which I hadn't read since I took the hoe off last year.

Burned two more tanks of gas, and two reels of string, on the trimmer yesterday, and got as far down the hill as I'll be able to go in some parts. It's just too steep to walk on, and at maybe 150' from the house, it's probably all the defensible space needed. Maybe today I can get the rest of it done in another couple tanks. That's about all I'm good for in one session. Still really pleased with how well the trimmer is working. The bump head is still paying out line, it's easy to fill, and so far at least, no problems with the engine. 🤞it stays that way.

I had a tank of water in the sprayer already, and decided to use it yesterday to spray weeds. Added RM43 and hit the area around the mail box and both sides of the driveway. That was 30 gallons worth, and still hadn't gone hunting for poison oak on the rest of the ground. One more tank got most of it, and there's still a little left I'll put on the newly cleared area today. Then I can put the sprayer away so I can use the side-by-side for a mini dump truck today.

After I got the backhoe on yesterday, I noticed that the sheet metal floor on it was being held up by something, and it turned out to be one of the brackets holding the top'n'tilt spools. I pretty much expected as much, but the only way to find out was to mount the hoe. So yesterday I pulled the bracket off and trimmed the offending piece, only to learn that a gusset on the underside of the floor was also hitting. Pulled the floor off and trimmed that, along with another small section, and now everything fits. With a few spritzes of Kubota orange paint, that's the end of that job.

By then it was time for dinner, so no digging yesterday. Think I'll start today giving the tractor and backhoe some grease, then get the weed wacker saddled up for another walk. Should be digging by after lunch.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Morning all, Was hot yesterday in the mid 80's
After work spent a few hours with the brush cutter and pole saw and got some more brush and small trees cut down.
Vines and brambles with large thorns are not fun.

Kyle - Insurance is for them to make money and not to help us buy a replacement. Was hoping they would get you more, but they will work hard to come up with comparables that are hard to fight. Hope you are both feeling ok.

Alien- good luck on the sale-almost there!

Drew - contact Burpee and tell them what happened. They have been responsive in the past.

When I took the dog out for her morning walk she got freaked out by a fox "yelling" and then chasing a doe.
Dog kept looking in that direction for our whole walk.

Stay safe and be well.

I planted an assortment of radishes. One on right was pretty standard the one on the left was a bit sweet.

71F and "Fair" @ 09:45, heading up to a high of 86F to 88F this afternoon with abundant sunshine (depending on who you ask ...) Similar forecast for tomorrow. Under an Air Quality Alert.

Pretty much finished up all the mowing yesterday, including the places that had tree branches down. Even got the wood/compost lot done.

Followed that up with more trimming of low-hanging branches in the upper front, then did some more down here around the house. Several more dump cart loads added to the burn pile.

Cub was really dusty and dirty and the deck was covered in grass clippings 4" thick so I grabbed the Stihl blower and took it up to the compost pile and blew it off.

The ground is starting to get pretty dry here - at least at the surface in places that get sun, but even before that I've been amazed at how much dust this mower will kick up ... creates a cloud. Guess it might be a combination of blade speed and blade lift. At any rate, I'm not complaining.

Hit the 25 hour mark and am getting the reminder that the pre cleaner on the air filter needs serviced which I will do today. Might also run down later this afternoon and get an oil filter or two for the 50 hour service, since it seems that might not be too far away.

After I finished with the mowing and trimming I sprayed almost all of the glyphosate that was left in the tank from the previous day. Got the fence lines done and some other areas in the upper front done, plus around the poles on two nest boxes. Will likely mix up another batch today and continue on with additional areas that need done. Starting to get low on glyphosate so might swing by TSC in Massillon while I'm down that way and see what they have available. It doesn't look like they have the Farmworks brand I bought the last time available currently, but their website shows they do have 2.5G RM18 in stock at a reasonable price ... which might be a little better, since it has a faster kill and is effective for up to six months.

Put out 10 mealworms yesterday afternoon treated with calcium carbonate, they were gone in short order.

Picked up some Pliobond at the hardware store while I was out getting gas and fixed the handgrip on The Woman's good Cutco hand pruners.

Think I got the lights dialed in on the Cub last night before I put it away:

Next item (after cleaning the AF pre filter) is to see what needs to be done to defeat the operator presence switch in the seat bottom ... so the darn thing isn't shutting itself off every time I hop off of it. Might be a good job to later today in the heat of the afternoon.

Remainder of agenda for the day is the stuff I didn't get done from yesterday, plus printing out the illustrated parts manual for the EZ-Go.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Good morning. Today will be beautiful - full sun and high 70’s. We look to have 6 straight days of good weather with temps getting into the 80’s later in the week.

Have to work at the Club this morning but will mow the city house in the afternoon. Friday and Saturday I’ll get to be at the farm mowing and cleaning up some fallen branches.

Take care today all.

66°F and .63 inches rain, still coming down.

Back in the caretaker project this morning, but I have to pick up stuff at the PO at some point.

Hand and Foot this afternoon. Dinner will be a Costco rotisserie chicken suitably refreshed in the air fryer.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
