Ok, I know this is going to sound silly but my wife got a text from a friend who was wondering if a magnet stuck at the site of our covid injections (Moderna and J&J). A guy in her small town was showing the people in town how it stuck at his injection site and one person took a video and she saw the video. Pub med talks about the Superparamagnetic nanoparticle delivery of DNA vaccine - Superparamagnetic nanoparticle delivery of DNA vaccine - PubMed

I know there is a lot of documentation of the injection site and the magnet and the myth was debunked. But does a small magnet stick to anyones injection site? My wife's friend has not had the vaccine and is scared of it and I just wanted her to know how many of the real tractor guys vaccination sites held a small magnet if any.

No!
A lot of dried leaves are magnetic though, I have video of me picking some up if I can find it. Very weak though. I assume
It’s the iron deposits from the water.

I also find that those afraid to get vaccinated will grasp on to any far fetched tin foil hat conspiracy to justify their fears.

All one has to do is look at the drop in numbers of cases and deaths in the USA to see that it works. There’s a far better chance of testing positive than suffering side effects, of course that’s dropping rapidly as more people are vaccinated.

67° right now...much cooler today with a high in the mid-70's. Rain showers in the forecast, which might limit outdoor work. If I get that stuck PTO driveshaft freed up and rigged, I'll be satisfied...
I do need to get out to take a couple branches down and do some weed trimming too, come to think of it...

Finally got all the components (wiring, connectors and in-line fuses) I need to run power to the work lights I installed a few weeks back. I'll remove the Gator's wind shield so I can disconnect the ground wire of the battery. Hope I don't screw this up...

I'd written posts about the 4052's display instructing me to increase RPM to 1500 at start up. Problem was, even with lowering the throttle, the engine remained at 1500 RPM. That prevented use of the hitch-assist function (engine must be at low idle (1000 RPM) for the hitch-assist to function).
While I was rigging the flail mower to the tractor, the throttle was set at low idle...tachometer indicating 1500 RPM...than, while I was standing behind the tractor, the engine did idle down to 1000.
This has something to do with the regen system, I'm sure. Soot percentage is only indicating 32%. Don't have much need to start the tractor today, but I think I will...just to see if the "increase engine speed to 1500" is displayed

68, humid and thickly overcast, going to 91.

Roy, your problem is probably different, but I found that my PTO shaft that wouldn't slide easily was gunked up inside the plastic male shaft cover to female cover contact area...also was a bit warped from letting it rest on a hard piece of the implement when not in use. I cleaned the plastic and started supporting it differently and it's been much improved, but not perfect.

Don, never heard of the vaccine magnets, but sometimes when the moisture is just right, any small smooth piece of metal will stick.

Buppies, you're working too hard!

BEF, I think Ron is probably right for your medicare choice. I found that the Supplement plans looked better the more medical expense you think you'll have. I chose the Advantage, which also covers prescriptions, etc, but does have co-pays...I chose to take the risk of self-insurance for the $0 premium, with a $4,900 maximum out-of-pocket...sorta like choosing a higher deductible on car insurance to buy down the premium. My wife pays monthly for the Supplement plan, but also pays monthly for separate dental and prescription plans....but has better overall coverage. Do some digging since there are so many options and your choice is specific to your needs.

The phoebe chicks finally fledged from the nest under my shelter right over my log splitter Friday, so I had the space back to myself...did some re-organizing and started on making another firewood pallet so I can split the last load I brought up last month. Did some string trimming rather than run the mower...the ground is rock hard and grass is turning brown.

Good Morning
It’s 70, on its way to the low 90’s here today.
It’s getting pretty dry out there, we could use some rain.

I did get the Toro mower picked up yesterday, we had to take the deck off to get it to fit on the trailer, bit all in all it still went pretty well. Mulch got spread, got the cover off the pool, mowing got done, recording got rough mixed down to mp3. Grandson rode in the tractor on my lap, we listened to the rehearsal recording while we mowed. He had a great time, didn’t want to get out when we were done.
If you look closely you can see him in the picture.

After putting the tractor away, got a call from a neighbor that his AC wasn’t working, so I went over to check it out, and was able to get it going for him.

Not sure what today will bring, hopefully it will be inside.

This reminds me of the days I spent doing gas leakage surveys with an instrument known variously as a "flame pack, gas sniffer, etc.". It was an incredibly sensitive instrument for finding natural gas leaks . . . BUT . . . you soon learned to distinquish between it sensing the gas you were looking for from the gas produced by decaying or decomposing leaves or other vegetation.

Woke up in night after a bad dream, looked at TBN to distract my mind, only to see Don’s post about magnets. That didn’t help.

Hope to head towards home after worship. Going to one where some old friends of ours go. Spoke to them last night and they invited us to lunch after worship.
They both had COVID last fall.

Don’t know if we can make it back in one day with a late start and the time change.
Visited wife’s niece last night, about 45 minutes away.

Good morning, low temp 41 and high 61F. A bit cooler. Wind 15 gusting to 24 mph. Showers.

I had one ceiling fan crap out on me the other day and the one in my man cave is making a rhythmic clicking sound on high speed. That is why I am replacing both of them.

I guess I know why we don't have any cicadas up here, too many pine trees and no copperheads to eat them. Lots of wild turkey though, mostly found in the liquor store. :ROFLMAO:

Nice pair of red tails, Ron.

Today I will get up to something, just don't know what at this stage of the day.

Have a safe day all

Well Bill, not to worry, I'm getting plenty of bugs for everyone.
Front flower beds were kind of creepy, a few live ones crawling on top of the mulch
and casings everywhere. The buzzing should start tonight.

Have to admit when I first saw that tractor I instantly regretted not responding to the email. That said, I’m very pleased that my friend John did get it. He needs it more than I do. But, if having a tractor is good, having 2 is twice as good.
Having two tractors also means you'll be having twice the maintenance to do, and twice the repairs, too. That may be some consolation for you, David. I for one am very happy to be back to only one tractor.

Don, Google paid the vaccine makers to include the nano technology so they could track people better and make their ads more relevant. People should do their part to make internet commerce better.

77 now, 91 later. Started overcast but cleared nicely. Only supposed to get to 68 tomorrow with easterly winds and some rain, we need the water. I haven’t started seeing cicadas yet, or jar flys as we called them in NC. I thought I heard one but I think it’s just tinnitus. We might be a little east of the main infestation belt. We slept late and didn’t go to church today, I always feel guilty.
We had company until late, I started to Quote Andy Capp, if you’re sitting up with me, I’m better!
I don’t see me doing much today.
Have a good Sunday.

Good afternoon, apart from the weather things seem to be finally returning to normal. This latest relaxation in Covid rules have allowed our son and his girlfriend to come and stay with us for the weekend for the first time in over a year. I even managed to get hold of a couple of hundred Berger bullets for reloading too on Friday.

Great pic again Ron.

Sodamo, nice work using up the scraps on that end wall. One of the joys of not having to work at a "professional's" pace :)

79F and partly cloudy @ 10:00, headed up to a high of 86F ... but I bet we beat it. 40% chance of thunderstorms this evening.

Got birdbath cleaned out and refilled, it was dry. Located one suet feeder, couldn't see the other one so it's MIA. Refilled hopper feeder, sunflower tube feeders about due today.

Finished up mowing on the west side down here around the house. Did some further trimming of low-hanging branches. Also loaded up sticks and debris into the dump cart The Woman had collected previously and took them up to the burn pile.

After that I worked on filling in and regrading the area with all the large exposed maple roots over by the northeast planting bed. Still needs more work though. Going over here in a bit to pick up our 3' rake from a friend I loaned it to, will hopefully get that finished up and seeded today.

Going to borrow his tow-behind spreader and get at least of these soil amendments put down today before it rains. Kinda getting tired of having the two pallets setting out front.

Front also needs mowed. Will get more gas while I'm out.

Finished up yesterday by weeding around one rhododendron and one azalea in the northeast planting bed. Need to work the dirt around both and add a little more peat moss and then mulch them so I can avoid most of the weeding from here on out.

Hope that everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Sunday ... (y)

Good morning all. On my 2nd cup of coffee, with bacon and eggs cooking away.

Will be a nice day today, and it is time to mow the lawn at the rental cottage. My friend who gave me my riding mower put the belt back on that had come off, for now the third time. Will also be busy with the cleanup of the two buildings, and more dirt work.

Black flies and mosquitoes are here, so each evening when we are done we sit inside the screened porch for our evening drink. We have a couple of those portable gazebos over here at our place, and we may set them up today.

I might also get some more dirt out of the floor of the boat house, in preparation for putting in new beams and floorboards on a section where they have rotted away.

Meanwhile, there are still 13 holes in the floor of the barn, but one of them seems to have been chewed a bit bigger. (Anyone remember that thread? I think I have updated pictures that I can post over there.)

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

Well, most of the work is done...
After spraying PB Blaster on that driveshaft, it can apart easily and after greasing it up, rigged it on the mower and tractor. Also greased the mower zerks.
I'd forgotten the fenced in backyard when I mowed yesterday so, did that, dropped a few branches that were hitting the tractor cab...not enough to rig the chipper though. Then did the string trimming...
Although I enjoy having acreage and a big lawn...sometimes it seems like a lot of work for this old man. But, I know I'd soon hate any smaller property.
Since I got the driveshaft on the flail mower and, it was still pretty early, figured I'd mow the field. The grasses are about 2' tall and any peepers have moved on. I mowed as I went down the road to the field and started mowing the periphery, smelled hot rubber about halfway around...noticed the mower wasn't cutting/mulching. Must have jammed the drive belt somehow. The cover (of the belts) was pretty hot and I could see charred rubber on the housing vents.
Well, that was enough for today, I reckon.
