Kyle, I'll check the bulletin boards to see if any vehicles are listed. They will probably start listing them again this week. What type of vehicle are you interested in?

Thanks Don. Looking for a 5+ year old, <100,000 miles, that gets decent mpg (25ish). Hopefully less than $10,000.

I've had to drag my old impala out, from under the shade tree.....hoping it can get me to work, until I can find a car. 332,500 miles.

I saw a Kia Soul, but it is one of the year models that the engine takes a crap, like Paul's did. So I'll pass.

I looked at CarMax's website as a start...they had some like you are looking here in Virginia, but then I looked at Houston-Katy Freeway location and they had none, one on the way. Everything I've read is how tight the used car market has become but you'll find something!

I read somewhere that used car prices were up ten percent, vs depreciating the way they normally do.
New cars are being sold with far less discounting than before which increases dealer profit offsetting some of the
problems with getting new cars in. I started looking at CraigsList trucks starting from least expensive locally and found a lot
of very high mileage work trucks and not much worth looking at until you got to ten grand. All the prices seemed high...
I'll give Honda one more week of telling me they have no idea whatsoever when they can deliver my new vehicle and then I start
getting serious about finding a used truck.

64F and cloudy @ 08:00, heading up to a high of 81F for the day. A few stray showers in the area, but the bulk of it has moved through at this point and is off to the East.

When the showers came through last night they were in bands ... we happened to be in a dry slot between the bands ... so no measurable precipitation ...

Bird feeders are due to be filled and fish need fed (didn't happen yesterday)

Likely finish up applying gypsum on the lower front today, then start on putting the lime down. There's another pallet of lime over in the pole barn that I will have to dig out.

Since it's cooler and highly likely that it will be mostly cloudy today, it would be a good day to get any weeding done on areas that are normally in the sun (thinking blueberry bed)

Supposed to be hot (88F) tomorrow ... so I'm thinking that will be a good day to fill up the water buffalo and start making the rounds. Outside of that one time with the blueberries and the the day lilly splits, really haven't done any watering this year.

Went to move grapple yesterday and managed to run my head into one of the tips on the (open) upper jaw as I was circling around to lock in the right SSQA handle. Hurt like $#%! at the time, but outside of a good-sized lump don't seem to be any worse for wear this morning.

I made the coffee this morning, we'll see how well that goes over here in a little bit ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Good morning. It was 71° this morning and overcast as our rainy May continues.

We had virtually no moisture between our mid-February snow and the end of April. I haven't checked our rain gauges yet, this morning, but .. as of the end of the day yesterday we've now exceeded 17" since May 1st.

I spent the day working on shop projects yesterday and did get the new rear bumper installed on the Ranger.

Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 7:30AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 88F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Good luck with the car search, Kyle. Somehow I just don't see you in the Chevy clown car... 😄

Very colorful frogs, Ron. The happy couple!

No problems on the bucket swap yesterday, but it did take a try or two before I figured out what went where. The 24" bucket takes a pretty big bite, a good thing since I had to move all of the dirt from the day before. After that I was able to get a pad big enough for the Kubota to sit level, then start deepening it. It's not quite the full 22' length yet, so that's today's goal. And it still sits a good three or four feet above the lowest corner, so a lot more material needs to come out. I'm thinking if I can get this "lane" down to depth, it can serve as a guide for the rest of the cut, helping me keep everything on the level, including the tractor. Coming out of the cut onto the hillside yesterday was the kind of thrill ride I can do without. So far I haven't hit any big rocks, but the clay/dirt is getting harder as I dig deeper.

While I was out digging, the laptop and GPS were exchanging map files, which took several hours. The file gets bigger every year, and is almost at the 4 Gb limit imposed by the hardware.

Still no sign of deer under the solar array.👍

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Mornin all, grey today and cooler than yesterdays 89 high.
Pool Day Sunday!
Saturday got two more big dead Ash down. One I had to drop in neighbors field so it did not take out another tree next to it. Scared the crap out of a fawn, it ran in the right direction , before I felled the first tree. Both about 80 feet tall.
Counted rings, almost 60 of them, what a shame they are all dead.

Cut up and cleaned neighbors field and trimmed a big low hanging dead branch from one of his trees as a courtesy.

DFTodd - cute grandson!
RS - what do you do to keep busy :)
RNG - no hill racing please.
Drew - The only plant I can kill reliably is butterfly bushes. Don;t know why, I think everyone in the universe can get them to grow just fine but me..VEry few Cicadas here so far, though I do see some holes.
Stupid Lantern flies are starting to come back. They damaged most of my roses and a few may not come back

Stay safe and be well.

Our Azaleas are certainly getting larger.

63°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 88° today. Rain in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, then cooler temps in the 70s for the weekend.

Been fighting a head cold for the last week, so the early part of the weekend got kind of lost in the fog. Wife and I tag-teamed the lawn mowing Saturday morning, but then got little else done outside the rest of the day. Neither of us were feeling all that great. Took a nap that was entirely too long.

Sunday morning we loaded up the kayaks and headed to Silver Lake in Highland IL, were we spent a few hours paddling around the main lake. We started at the boat ramp and paddled up the east shoreline to the I-70 bridge. We went just a little north of the interstate, then turned around and headed back along the west shoreline, floated together for awhile enjoying some trail mix snacks, explored a couple of coves, then cut back across the main channel to the boat ramp. That part of the lake is a lot bigger than it looks from shore when you're out there paddling a small boat. Fortunately, we only had about 3-4mph winds, so the paddling was fairly easy. The handful of fishing boats we encountered were all very kind about not swamping us with big wakes when they passed. Courteous boating; not as common as it should be, but in full force yesterday.

The Wife talked about wanting to explore the northern part of the lake next weekend. When I showed her the map view of the lake, she had no idea how big it really is. I'm thinking we're going to be really sore next weekend.

No young boy ever forgets time on grandpa's tractor, Paul. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

Good luck with your search, Kyle. Definitely not a buyer's market right now. Hope you're healing we, too.
