Wow, you guys sure write a lot.

Back home for the weekend. I gave Saturdays' load to the younger guy while I reset my log book.I dropped the wagons in North Bay and bob-tailed to the house.

I am going to replace the backup lights on the tractor tomorrow if it doesn't rain. The company put flood lights on it and all I can see with them is my drive tires and not the 70' to the rear of the train that I need to see.

The last Cummins engine I drove was a 400 big cam, after that it was all Cats. I've forgotten how to get a Cummins to pull. The cat would lug down to 1100 rpm and still pull like stink, not so with the Cummins ISX 15. At 1400 rpm it pulls good though. Top speed on cruise control or on the pedal is 65 mph. I will get more speed out of it going down hills IF there is nothing in front of me. It pulls pretty good up hills grossing 140,000 lbs (63,500 kgs).

The air conditioning is awesome! It will freeze me out on full at 90°F, without using the recirculate function.

It is nice to be back in the saddle again. At first I didn't want to go, but after I picked up my wagons it was a whole new game.

Have a safe day all

We got 2.05” of rain, 2.4” falling in 25 minutes, it went from drizzle to Niagara Falls in about 30 seconds. I heard it and headed for the dining room where the remote for the deck awning lives. I was too late, it will handle up to .2” so that tells you how much water fell in about a minute total. It was sagging but the water was so heavy I couldn’t push it up and it collapsed on my head and neck. Luckily it didn’t come all the way down and mash me in the process. The rain was so heavy that I literally could only see about half way to the road which is 120’. I’ve called State Farm. I’m just sick about it.

Sorry to read about that Randy
Hope it is readily fixable but more glad you didn’t get squished.

72F and cloudy @ 20:30. Currently under a Flash Flood Advisory until 21:45.

Apparently a nasty storm materialized just to the east/west/north of us and dumped a bunch of rain. We got a little bit of it, but nothing like they were reporting (0.5" to 1.5") ... I suppose we could still get more before it's all over.

Did some work on the compost pile this morning and cleaned up the area over by the soil screen in preparation for more screening.

Got the lawn mowed down here around the house.

Woman ran out to Subway to get lunch, ended up being dinner as well for me.

Took large commercial entry mat we keep in the kitchen at the garage door down around for The Woman to hose off. Went ahead and swapped hoses and hosed it off for her. Just as I was finishing she showed up ... with some laundry soap and scrub brush.

So I let her take over ... while I made tracks ...

Made the run down to Menards and picked up order (weed and feed and more lime for the front), also stopped by the mower shop on the way down there. They had the blades and the oil filter, were out of the air filter.

Hit Dunkin for some iced refreshments after mower shop ... (y)

Was going to mow the compost/wood lot but thunderstorm showed up ... :(

Feed fish and then probably examine the inside of my eyelids.

Good to see you!

Sorry to hear the bad news on your awning (and the kitties)

Hopefully the insurance company will make you whole on the awning.

Unfortunately no such luck with our dearly beloved pets.

   / Good morning!!!! #134,208
Randy, glad you not hurt.

We got .33”, enough to not have to water the garden.

Wife went to her moms, been a year since her dad died and they spending time together.

Worked from home today. Next week we start a new production run so I will be in the building pretty much every day for awhile. I’m never in my office, pretty much in a lab all day. But it keeps me off the streets. Lol

51° right now...high in the mid to upper 60's..rain tonight...
And I hope the rain holds off since I didn't get out of work until 1630, then had to pick up some subs (Subway), then the hour drive home
I did get one pass in the backyard with the mower deck set as high as it would go. Started the second pass, then it was time for chow and a beer.
It only takes 20 minutes to mow the backyard...

good morning all. Much cooler day, cloudy and up to low 70's today.
I'm off to PT and then food shopping. Motivated by a ten dollar off 50 dollar purchase Giant sent me,
very usable coupon, which I normally pay no attention to.

Ron, peonies look good, probably smell good too.
Randy, sorry about awning. Now I know why the fancy ones on rv's have rain sensors and auto closers.
I used to pull in my awning any time the wind got over 10 mph or when rain was coming but easy to get caught with awning up
and pants down... Good luck with insurance, I'm guessing there is a value cap or exclusion of some kind on awnings, but if you can say
the wind blew it down, then it's likely covered.

Am watching cruise industry carefully, first cruise in Caribbean just found two onboard who tested positively for covid, but seems it was handled well.
Celebrity line is trying to start out of Ft Lauderdale but problem is they require (all good!) 95 percent of passengers and crew to be vaccinated and Florida
governor just rammed into law restriction saying you could not require vaccinations for entry. Quite the political football, as it has been.

very few masks in Giant supermarket any more other than some seniors, and none in TSC yesterday. I'm hoping consciousness has been raised to simply keep some
distance between each other. Like tailgaters on the road, some folks in line just want to jam up right next to you. Maybe not so much any more.

It's Friday and hope it's a good one for all of you.

Good morning! 69 now.supposed to get to 77 today. Chances of showers today yet again. Took a chance and rode the bike yesterday and missed any rain. Think i will chance it again today.

This week has been incredibly hectic and busy. It has been non-stop from the time I walk in and even continues into the evening after I get home. Was answering emails about 9:30 last night.

Gonna have to make a road trip Monday. Really unhappy customer and I have nothing to tell them. …

hopefully it is a good weekend.

Everyone stay safe out there

Prayers for aliens wife and sodamos wife.

I see where the new Alzheimer drug could cost up to $56,000 a year.
Yeah, and I see in the news that 2 doctors have resigned from the group since they disagreed strongly with the decision to approve the new drug.

   / Good morning!!!! #134,218
Ron, the next awning will have both rain and wind detectors. Sunsetter only offered us a wind detector but I don’t think it would be hard to wire in a rain sensor from a skylight, etc…
At $3600 a pop they should have Bluetooth and voice activation! LOL

   / Good morning!!!! #134,219
Good morning, low temp 55 and high of 72°F. Wind E 9 mph. 40 % chance of showers.

I can handle the mid 70s temps just fine. I really hate the 80 and 90s. Last Sunday the temp in Markham,ON got up to 88°F. Way too hot for me. Thankfully I got the change over and loading of the truck done well before noon.

The only things on my plate today are changing the backup lights, change out both CB antennas from 1/4 wave fiberglass to full wave oil coils and give all the locks (4) the graphite dust treatment.

I will also take a gander at my radishes and maybe thin them out a little.

Have a safe day all

Good morning.
Its 60 and not going to make it to 70 today. Chance of a shower this morning then dry.

Yesterday’s shop time was productive, today should be an easy day, mostly waiting for glue to cure. Had lunch with an old friend that was just told that he needs a quintuple bypass, it’s scheduled for next week.
Helped youngest son with his project. He is planning to propose to his girlfriend today, and made a series of “Burma Shave” style signs to put along the path to the pond, which is where he plans to pop the question. Needless to say, we are all excited, and fighting the urge to be paparazzi.

So I’ll keep myself busy in the shop until after the big event this morning. I’d like to get some mowing done, as long as we don’t get rain,or after it dries up if we do. Looking forward to a band rehearsal tonight as well. Shaping up to be a memorable day.
