Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the temp in North Bay is a balmy 75F.

Yesterday was a scorcher NW of Cochrane, ON. 85+. Spawned a T-storm and lightening sparked a couple of bush fires. [Bush fires are just small forest fires]. Some are still burning today and my load for tomorrow comes within 10 miles of one.

Got a touch of heat stroke or sunstroke yesterday, I don't know the difference, got real wobbly but fortunately I was near the mechanics' truck and he gave me a ride to my tractor where I rested in the A/C. The corn binder hasn't been shut off in two days. The A/C runs continuously. Rain storms forecast for Monday and Tuesday so I wil reset my logbook then. I load in North Bay this evening at 8 and 4 hours later I should be in Cochrane, even if I get there about 1 or 2 A.M. and have a power nap and leave for the mine site at 6 I will arrive at the unloading spot about 8 A.M. I am not going right into the mine, thankfully.

I am in the grease is grease crowd, only I try to use winter grease, it flows through the grease gun easier in the colder temps.

Stay safe all

70F with light rain @ 12:00, calling for a high of 78F with scattered thunderstorms, 90% chance of rain. Accumulation yesterday was around 0.14", today so far: 0.05".

The Ten Day features reasonable high temps (mid 60's to mid 80's) with the possibility of rain on six of the ten days.

I think can hear the grass growing already ...

Looks like I'll be getting that inside day today ... other than I may slip out to pick up small Menards order (four more bags of lime, suet, garden hose) and get gas. The two 2-cycle cans are low enough that they can be refilled with the two different flavors of Stihl premix we use and some E0.

Also need to refill hopper feeder and uncover sparrow trap.

Other than that, same things on agenda for previous inside day that didn't occur.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Need a bit of tidying up in the project area maybe even get a pic or 2.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

BEF,

Nice ... walnut grove looks very lush ... (y)

Buppies,

Good to hear from you.

Thanks on the lawn ... it's getting there ... but we still have a ways to go.

I noticed the lawn here around the house has really greened up since I put the fertilizer down. It's particularly noticeable at the northwest corner, where the side yard (fertilized) meets the front (unfertilized)

Hope things are well with you.

Bird,

Here's hoping you get some respite from all the mowing and that Sun doesn't evaporate you.

I know when I'm out in it, it really does a number on me.

Ron,

Happy Birthday ... (y)

A great picture of the moon ... as your pictures always are ... ;)

David,

Glad you got the sheetrock done and trip to town went well.

Nice idea on passing along the discount ... (y)

Don,

Glad to hear Whipper is doing better.

Hope for continued improvement.

Happy Birthday, Ron
And many, many more

Good evening, I am slowly catching up with GM while waiting for my wife to make tea.

Don, pleased to hear Whipper is on the mend. Looks like it will be water instead of red wine with our meal today.

The dolly I built for the BH works well, need to put a cover on it this morning.

View attachment 702896

Ken that is a very handy looking back hoe. Can you roll the dolly while it is on grass ?

Great Moon shot yesterday evening.

Ron, happy birthday ! By the time you are celebrating your 100th there could be an awful lot of space tourists on that moon - many will be taking a picture of you !

A few years ago I screwed some planks to 2 x 4's to make a platform to go over the loader pallet forks. It gets used for all sorts, from a work platform, moving the occasional dead ewe and if the waste bin is too heavy for me to pull up the drive by hand, the bin gets a ride on it up to the roadside. Not any more though ...
The topper was on the 3 pt, so after I dropped the bin off for collection I thought I would save some time by trimming a patch of grass on the way back. Hit a bump, the platform bounced off and now I am ahead of schedule for preparing this winter's kindling.

Lush with weeds. Lol

Something I mowed made me start coughing.
This is back corner of my land. Was overgrown in multiflora roses for years.

I have general purpose lithium grease, I knew everyone was dying to find out.

Went out and took fender skirt off the rv, going to try JB weld where it cracked. Started to sprinkle a s I was taking it off, stopped as I came in.
Humidity is rising fast, might get storms later, and even possible tornadoes.

Lillies along the road.

Hmmmm, can lithium grease be charged like a battery? The possibilities…

/ Good morning!!!! #134,590
when you consider the high demand for Lithium in Li-0n batteries, surprised they have any left for grease.
Must be the lowest of the low spec lithium that makes it into the grease cartridge.

skies darkening, rain and storms due to start soon. But I made my two trips with the garden cart and large full buckets of water out to
the growing butterfly bushes, since anything less than a couple of inches of rain doesn't accomplish much for a shrub. Lawn and veggies, you bet.

time to chill

Hope you had a great day Ron.
Grease... Yeah I use that dirty black stuff but am going to change to red. But first I need to pressure clean all the black stuff off my FEL where it seems to seep out everywhere.
Then I am buying myself a battery grease gun as I am sick of struggling with these pump ones. Only place for them is the bin.
My buddy bought the Ryobi one and is really pleased it and it takes the standard cartridges unlike several others. I already have the battery and charger for Ryobi so it will cost me Au$199 for the gun at Bunnings. The fact it is yellow is a bonus so I should be able to find it easily in my shed..

Overcast now but not raining, was sunny a little while ago, still trying to peek out now.

Filled hopper feeder. Went to pick up bucket of shelled peanuts to turn it around, handle broke spilling the peanuts and banging my shin pretty good.

Got three tanks cleaned up so far, about 20 gallons of water drawn, some fish fed, and the juvenile yellow labs transferred from the 20G Long over to 55G tank the adult male is in. He immediately starting courting. More cleaning and fish juggling to do later.

For now though I'm going to try and get the lawn mowed down here around the house ... assuming there is enough fuel in the Cub to do so.

On the grease, I use Mobil 1 red synthetic. It's a lithium grease.

74F and partly cloudy @ 21:20, headed down to 66F for a low.

Almost got west side down here by the house mowed, but then it starting pouring rain ... with the sun out ...

Didn't last long though - just enough to drive me inside. But I knew it wasn't going to dry out enough to mow the rest of it (too much shade at that time of day)

So I moved the Kubota and sprayer around back in preparation to mix up another tank of juice for spraying tomorrow.

Lower front was a different story though - plenty of sun there and a nice breeze, so it dried out in fairly short order while I got another group of fish moved (and all the fish fed)

Did some mowing for a while and then came inside and ate then headed back out.

Just finished doing the lower front.

Good chances of rain over the next several day, so will hold off on the Weed-N-Feed until Wednesday.

The RM18 is rainfast after only 3 hours so might do some spraying tomorrow.

Do some more fish tank maintenance, finish Menards order, then maybe a movie.

The Squeak escaped twice this evening.

She's now sitting here and growling at the fireworks someone is setting off ...

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

I've never been that particular about grease, but I usually buy the red stuff, which is lithium based in the CRC brand called Sta-Lube. But I will sometimes buy the cheap walmart brand too....unless I find out it's made outside of our country.

I also have been guilty of not applying it as often as I should.

Steiner Beast sitrep: Was mowing last week, and needed to move something in the grass. I turned off the electric PTO switch, moved the item, and when I turned it back on.......nothing. Been busy working on autos, so I finally got to it this morning. After some troubleshooting, I traced it to the actual PTO dash push/pull switch, which is a heavy duty "Made in America" switch. I guess I can't complain too much, it is about 20 years old, and had been down near the ocean. Anyway, my local auto parts had one in stock, hooray for them. It cost $33 plus tax, so it was a bit pricey. But they had it, and I want them to stay in business. Messick's had it for $20, but I would have had to pay shipping probably around $8-10, so I'll call it a wash. It fixed it, and I mowed, for only about an hour because I had to go drop off kids to different places. I got maybe 1.5 acres worth mowed, in-between the post oak tree forest just south of my home. Need to mow about another 2 acres worth.

I was telling the guys at the auto parts about the Steiner Beast story, and how little money I have in it....they laughed when I told them the switch just might be one of the most expensive items I've had to buy for it. LOL.

Yaris sitrep: I pulled out the oil pressure control solenoid, that controls cam timing. I wasn't sure of the theory of operation, until I watched some videos. The ECM (engine control module or computer to some), detects load and rpm and sends voltage to the solenoid, which switches between oil galleys, which make the cams advance or ******, giving more torque at lower rpms, or more HP at higher rpms. Anyway, I pulled it out expecting it to be dirty or clogged, but it wasn't. It has only 2 wires to it, and I applied 12volts to it, and it clicked/moved just fine. I re-installed it, tightened the serpentine belt, and fired it up. I was prepared to erase the CEL and code, but the CEL didn't come back on. Yay. I erased it in the "logged codes". I did order a replacement part. I might just return it. So, I'm not sure that I have fixed the P0011 code or not. Time will tell if it comes back, it will have to go to Plan B. It has over 220,000 miles.

Stepp, I'm praying for your son and your family.

Bupps, you too, and the rest of our crew in need. Our country is in need. I pray for the list Mostly so kindly prays for, and I include his wifey too.

Ercot shows Texas has enough power to meet demand today. Good thing it is hot. Not full summer hot, but hot. My buddy's wife works at a natural gas power plant. They are pumping out on all cylinders (so to speak) the last few weeks. They had to replace a major component since the ice age, and it had to get shipped down here from way up north. It gave problems after initial installation, but I guess it's working now. They have 3 NG generators, and a 4th co-gen steam powered genset for efficiency. They run the whole operation with fewer than 30 employees. I call that efficient.
Electric Reliability Council of Texas

My other buddy tells me that Texas has so much excess NG, that all the storage underground domes, are full. Oil prices coming back up. NG is now considered just a byproduct of oil production. Some wells just flare it off, having no pipeline to shove it into. I have seen only 2 drilling sites currently drilling in our area....so the boom is not in full swing....probably not unless oil goes above $75-80. But I hear it's crazy in west Texas, Midland Odessa area still.

Ron, half mooned us.

Eric, I better get started on my kindling pile too. LOL. Hope your back to the red wine soon....like the French.

Rs, your yard looks great, and BEF's too. There was a beautiful patch of lilies across the street from our church, but the heat has taken them out now.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads.
An early congrats to all the dads out there. It has been said that "if all the dads would be real fathers, about 95% of our social problems would go away."
And especially happy fathers day to all the mothers who raised their kids by themselves. And also to REAL MEN who love and raise kids who are not their own, but that the Lord somehow brought them together.
Remember, being a good father is a year long job.
