70°F and 1.26 inches rain. The wet remnants of the 2 diminished hurricanes.

Another day out in caretaker land. Can’t seem to locate my drywall pole sander. Of course it has been years since last use. Just may have to get another as it is such a work saver.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

That’s my problem , locating tools I know I have somewhere.

Went to worship this morning, now hanging out at hotel. Couple small storms have popped up according to radar. Had lunch at a local family place. Good food, large servings, ate too much.
Probably head out in an hour. Gotta go thru metal detector to get in to concert, yesterday we got in early, apparently line got extremely long and people missed half the show last night.

Did you remember your ear plugs? My wife always has a set in her purse.

62° right now...pretty wet outside, but doesn't look like it's raining now. Supposed to see more rain this morning and clearing up this afternoon....high in the upper 70's.
Reckon I'll pull the rest of the split rail posts. At least, see what I can do....I'm a lot better, but not 100% yet. If I'm up to it, I'll trim some branches and do my string trimming...

Question for you guys...any of you wear a respirator or mask when mowing? If so, what do you wear?

I just wear a decent quality particulate mask.

Toppop, one of the questions I have is what history books the school uses, how they deal with modern issues like Critical Race Theory, which is a sort of new
concept for all of us to understand, but not here. Oh no.
One of the board members is dean of students at Solebury School, a local non denominational private high school. She's black, highly educated of course and drove in
with a new white F150 Platinum with the eco diesel. Two thumbs up for that. She and I chatted for awhile, she was pretty curious about my minoring in Black Studies.
It's a different world than 20 years ago when I was on this school board before, world sure has changed. The school tries to stick with enduring values and be as flexible and inclusive
as possible. For 22k a year. You really have to want the faith component to send your child there because local high schools rank 9 and 10 out of 10, thanks to very high school taxes.
So if it's free to give your child a very good public education, like I had, why spend 22k a year for potentially 8 years?
The why is another topic not for here.
So while curriculum is off the table for board discussion, hard to totally get it off the table.
Pretty sure any of you that have sent their kids to faith based schools have dealt with same issues.

Buckeye, I hope the concert was good.

another mug of coffee coming up, maybe cranberry pancakes this morning.

Sounds like your board does it right, but I’m leery of all public schools today. Too much influence from administration that never had to live in the real world, and almost no parental input.what input they have is often ignored as the ramblings of the great unwashed.
Two of my grandsons go to a Christian school, the other goes to private school that is open to any faith or non at all. Literal history is taught and critical race theory is not. Students are about 45% white, 20% Asian, 10% black and 25% other.

87 now, cloudy most of the day, a real nice shower about four this morning, 1/4” of needed rain and no thunder.
Church after breakfast then picked up the money pit.
Got the coach home this morning, first time I’d driven one in quite a while. No problems though. Front seats are not as comfortable for me as I’d like but overall very nice. Cabin a/c is not real cold so I’ll have to check that, the coach a/c is nice though. I have to replace the generator fuel filter, small leak. PO’s cleaning of the exterior left a bit to desire.
Most of the stuff is expected of something sitting so long, no big deals considering what we paid.
No major plans for the rest of afternoon. Maybe a nap.
Everyone have a pleasant day.

Since it dried up a bit from this morning's rain, went out and did some weed trimming...just enough until I started sweating...time for a beer, I think...
I am starting to build up my stamina...don't get winded quite as quickly

My major distraction this morning, getting Sophie’s Restore purchase of this week situated. She had already rubbed in 3 coats of Teak oil, a bit hard for me to say no.

Base seems a nice match for our Ohia columns.

I suspect finding chairs will be next.

Good morning (Well evening actually)
Decent enough day today, no real rain, high of 83 and humid.

Show went well last night, but I’m getting too old to be a roadie. We played well, and were well received by the audience. But it was well after midnight till I got to bed.
The topper was that I have a very good client that insists on flying with me, so I had to be out of the house before 7 to take him to Nantucket.

When I got home, I sat down to check my email and woke up a few hours later.

74F and partly cloudy @ 22:00, DP finally below 70 (68.3), high hit 88F today. Attic fan shut off about 1/2 hour ago.

Woman's fish fed. All cats fed. Downstairs fish did not get fed today.

Trip to Amish country for pretty things for Woman successful - scored 21 pots of purple irises:

Screen Shot 2021-07-25 at 11.58.56.png

(Photo is the actual plants from earlier this year)

From what I could see, at least some of the pots may have multiple rhizomes (multiple sets of foliage at least)

Also picked up three pots of hemlock (possibly common water hemlock)

Upper and lower fronts mowed, west side here by house mowed, east side and back almost finished. Also compost/wood lot mowed.

Wisconsin 6 cheese pie with pepperoni and Italian sausage and the Brooklyn crust (well done) from Domino's for dinner.

Woman picked some medium hot peppers after dinner. Deer are now feeding on the pepper plants ...

Perhaps they'd like to try a little hemlock ? :devilish:

Good evening all. 73 for the start, clear, light breeze. Light to moderate wind, sky mostly clear, and high temp was 97F, HI 105F DP 68F. Triple digit temps have been delayed for a few days. Chapel to start, scrambled eggs for breakfast. Conserved energy for a while then removed boat seat base from boat and removed the base from the rest of the seat with rubber mallet. Not sure why it is so tight, so will work with it so it is easier to move. Did some research on CPAP machine, found some tweaks to make it more comfortable.

During trip to take wifey for a margarita last night, the Malibu threw a CEL code. P2097, downstream O2 sensor rich. The 2.5L engines have a known issue from the factory about the bolts that hold the plastic intake down. They either come loose, or they weren't tightened properly at the factory. You would think that that would lean it out, but the system tries to compensate and makes it too rich. Anyway, about 1.5-2 hour job, mostly to watch a video to see how someone else did it first. I cleared the code. Other possibilities were low fuel in tank (which it was low), bad O2 sensor (it seems to be reporting correctly), and worst case of all, the catalytic converter could not be functioning properly. I will see if the code pops up again.

Gator HPX fuel issue: It was hot, so I had to take some breaks after working on the car, but I finally got back to it. Yes, there was water in the gas. Cleared out the fuel tank but haven't put any strong isopropyl alcohol in it to help dry out the water. So the water was making the carb's float just let gas flow higher than normal (not shutting off). I took off the carb, cleaned it and put it back on. Need to change oil now, since the oil level is too high from fuel getting into crankcase. Hopefully tomorrow. Mosquitoes are bad in the evening. I already had to twice kill a fire ant mound near where I'm working on the gator.

I put out the small UV bug zapper lantern, hopefully that will kill a few mosquitoes.

BEF's and wifey's ears are probably ringing right now.

Yes, Buppies. The world is a turning. Daughter is growing up too fast. She's got me mad/sad at her right now....but I still love her to bits. Wifey and her stayed home and had bible study today while son and I went to church.

The show tonight was fabulous, the best Alabama concert. Too bad Jeff Cook can’t be with them. They played 2 hrs. We got soaked by a downpour as the opening act was finishing. The girl playing fiddle married into the family. The blind guy playing keyboard I’ve seen on some of their YouTube videos before.

They played a new song about Jeff Cook.
