My house insurance just informed me that my (steel) roof is over 15 years old and they will reduce the replacement cost by 30% to start and then 2%/year after that against wind and hail damage. It is 30 years old, so I got it figured out that they (the insurance shysters) will reduce the coverage by 60%, pity they wont reduce my premium by 60%.

Insurance companies are getting worse by the day at that sort of stuff.

24 degrees this morning with a forecast high of 25. How's that for a range. And the forecast is for our tempertures to stay below freezing for at least a couple of day. So far, very little "white stuff" on the ground, but supposedly more coming. I guess for folks up north, this might be nothing unusual, but it's another matter here in the south.

Like txdon said, schools, businesses shut down. If we don't have a power outage, we should be OK.

39° right now...quite a change since yesterday's cold. High in the low 40's then down to the low 20's tonight.
Rain turning to snow later...then all snow until Friday afternoon. Total should be somewhere between 12 and 15 inches. Nothing to worry about...
Tractor is fueled up, wood in the garage in case we need the stove tonight or tomorrow and ice melt in the garage. Case of beer in the garage (keeps it cold) and a fresh bottle of Jameson handy (Stepdaughter will be lovin' it!!)

Good morning, low temp 3 and going to a high of 10°F. Wind N 9 mph. Mostly cloudy and yet the visibility is 10 miles.

I will be going out at 9AM and clean up the snow that came down over the past two days.

After the clean up I'm going to town yet again.
Regular gas is up to $1.64/Litre or $6.20/US Gallon.

Down South in Toronto, when the news stations put out warnings to 'stay at home' due to a major storm coming, that is when you see a majority of traffic on the roads, getting stuck and getting in the way of snow plows.

I did find something that works really good with the bitter McDonalds black dark roast coffee...Baileys Irish Cream took the bitter right out of that coffee after it got cold.

Time to check my lottery ticket and get on with my day.

Yesterday was another tax prep, hike, and firewood day. Letting woodstove go out for the first time in a month since today, tonight and tomorrow all in upper 50s. Got a new green coffee shipment in yesterday so will do inventory and roast today.

37 going up to 41 in rain, and more rain all day

no plans for today other than being domestic and doing some church paperwork. I have another big zoom meeting to plan for.
All of you in the cold and ice, be careful.

Mostly, sorry for loss of BIL. As we get older, this sure happens more often...
Would rather go to weddings than funerals. Been a long time for a wedding too....about the only time I attempt to dance.
And look utterly foolish.

40 with rain outside this AM. Heading to 50's today. Like wngsprd, just loaded the last wood in the stove for today. Too warm.
Not fond of the rain, just more mud to deal with.

As the storm approaches, temps will be in the teens by the weekend. So we are all stocked up on more wood.

Our Eagle quest was pretty good yesterday. 3 juveniles and one adult who was carrying nesting materials. Lots of other bird species. Need to xfer from the camera, have not even had a good look at what the wife caught on it. LOL. Just nice to be outside on what was a sunny day.
