What are we looking at Kyle? Looks like you tapped a bolt hole on the end of a shaft.
That used to be a male thread that stuck out about 2.5". I broke it off trying to get the flywheel off. The flywheel has 2 threaded holes to pull it off, but both were stripped. Where there was a nut, will now be a 7/16 bolt with a heavy duty washer.
Popgadget, it was not hard metal thankfully.

Dad got power back last night, was off since Thursday. But they cut the phone line getting the power back.

31° supposedly got to 41° today, but it was cool out all day.
Traffic is a mess now coming home. Back to pre COVID jams.

Kyle, thanks for explanation. I’ve never done any metal work.

The next state is one near and dear to David, Hawaii. 20 years ago, for our 15th anniversary I surprised my wife with a trip to Maui. I just told her we were going to the beach. I think we changed planes in Dallas, and I couldn’t hide it any more.
HI_Maui_2002.jpeg

We got a round of golf in, the best scenery of any course I’ve played. I asked if they had rental clubs, the guy working at the course said just take mine. Think we only got in the water once, too busy taking in the sights.
I had been to Oahu before for work (someone had to do it) but was my wife’s first time.
So we went to church in Kahului, and the first person we saw was someone we had met when he had visited our congregation in MD before. Small world.

Our 35th anniversary is coming up in just under 2 months. While I would love to go to Hawaii again, I don’t really want to fly right now. Guess I better start planning something.

I'm sure there is a "slow boat to China" heading back that way...... It would just be a long swim to shore. Maybe a small zodiac? (y):rolleyes:

Had a decent day.... ran a bunch of errands, went to Camping World to pick up a few things. Lots of driving around avoiding the idiot drivers in town....

Mostly, a well deserved nap for you! Hope everything went well.

Randy, keep the beach pics coming..... I'm just being feisty and givin' ya a hard time....

RNG, glad you surfaced! Way back in the 70's gas crunch (when there were lines going around the corner) I had a Kawasaki 1000 LTD with a tall chrome backrest. This was a new bike to me, never had a backrest before..... Well, after filling up, I swung my leg over the back to get on.... hit the backrest with my shin and over the bike went while I still held onto the handgrips. As I got up, as far as I could see down the line, folks in the cars were really laughing. Believe me, I never did it again....
Until I pulled into work on my GL1500 Goldwing. Stopped, started to get off, and realized I didn't put down the sidestand.... o_ODid you know there is a specific way to pick up a goldwing? There is....

Mostly, believe it or not, it is cheaper to buy a tire already on a new wheel.

And Bill, to my surprise when I called Kooy Brothers this morning they actually had the exact left rear tire/wheel that I needed in stock! So I jumped in the truck right away, and 20 minutes later I was walking out the door with it.

Not bad, eh? No ordering, and no waiting for it to be shipped. (BTW, these guys are the biggest dealer in Canada.)

o_ODid you know there is a specific way to pick up a goldwing? There is....
There's a gal named Skirt that demonstrates a technique for lifting a bike by sort of backing into it with your hips. Is that what you're talking about, Ted? Wouldn't have worked in my case, as the gasoline covered cement was just too slippery to provide the necessary traction. Thank goodness for good Samaritans.

25 going to 57...warming gradually rest of week until it hits 63 Saturday.

Mostly, a very long trip, but glad you had some time to visit with family.

Took a day off from firewood yesterday and roasted coffee then went for a long hike.

Good morning, low temp 18 and the high to 32°F. Wind ESE 13 mph. Flurries with a risk of freezing drizzle.

Went out and checked on the Jeep yesterday morning and it had 12.46 volts in the battery. She fired right up, backed it out of the snow bank it was in, dropped the trailer (no lights) and went to town. $60.oo worth of gas only brought it up to 3/4 full and I started with a tad under 1/4. $1.64/Litre = $6.20/US gallon. Came back home after grabbing the mail, hooked up the trailer and stuffed it back into the snow bank. The portable shelter it used to live in is now occupied by the backhoe, so I nose the Jeep in over the subframe and that keeps the hood and windows clear of snow.

DILs funeral is all paid for, now she can croak whenever she wants. I still don't agree with her methods, but that is not my decision.

The new driveway I picked up is only two cars long and 1.5 wide. He is all paid up until next February 2023 and I will probably let him go until the end of the month. I told him that he is only covering the fuel, so is the other paying customer, paying for the fuel. The disabled one makes a really good relish, she pays me in relish and baked goods.

With it getting as warm as it is forecast, I may do the fuel sending unit today and maybe the horn as well. We will see. Maybe conserve energy.

Have a safe day all

21° right now...high in the low 40's

Yesterday's online training went OK...first few hours kinda sucked...the information presented was OK, but the person presenting was very very poor. Smart person, I'm sure, but not all smart people can do effective presentations.
Today is the 2nd day of the training

good morning all
nice day today, sunny and going up to 50, should be very nice.

Bill, getting paid in relish sounds good.

Doug, how old is that fan? Plastic shouldn't fall apart like that...long term heat exposure?
Do you have giant bugs there? ;)

Check, isn't it nice when it all works the first time and without delays?
We have sure had a lot of delays in the last few years.

I'm off to heart specialist this morning to get scrip to get this implantable monitor out of my chest.
It means no more work for this doc, hope he doesn't hem and haw... Monitor never ever showed any problem at all.
Next week I get my port out, then this gizmo out and I will be accessory free.

they told me I could leave the heart monitor in. Really? with a lithium battery in it? I don't think so.
Hope you all have a satisfying and fun day.

Hope all have a great day, and those ailing are on the mends. Be safe.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:I'm afraid to ask the specific way to pick up one.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: But this reminds me of the best motorcycle I ever owned; a new 1985 Honda Aspencade (1200 CC Goldwing with all digital instrument panel). I rode it from Dallas to Quantico Virginia, pulling a little trailer behind it when I went to the FBI National Academy, and made a number of other pretty long trips on it.

But it only fell over twice. The first time, i had stopped and put the kick stand down. I didn't forget like you did, instead I did something even dumber; I stood up on the pegs to swing my right foot over the backrest at the same time I was turning off the key with my right hand. And I simultaneously, accidentally hit the shift lever with my left foot, so just as the engine died, the bike moved forward and fell over. The other time was a very hot and windy day and I was just going to run down to the grocery store, so I didn't wear my helmet; just a cap, and my cap blew off a short distance from the house, still on our residential street, so I just made a slow u-turn to go back to get my cap and a sudden strong burst of wind blew me right over in the middle of that turn.

Now I was able to set it back up with no problem, but I'm not so sure I could have done that if it had been 10 lbs. heavier.:ROFLMAO:
