Good morning!!!!

I found Ron Hall's home number in PM from years back.
Will call him today and say hi from all of us.
Want to make sure he is ok.
Hope the call turns out OK

One of our members sent me Ron's phone number (PM). I hadn't called yet...bit concerned about any reaction. But Drew, I think you're more diplomatic than I am...
Good luck!!!

Ron is a caring man. He sent me a PM several years ago saying if I ever wanted to talk, to call him at home.
Well maybe that works both ways. Now that long distance is toll free, I figure while I'm sitting for hours in the parking lot at church
watching the landscapers work maybe I can catch Ron at home. Where he is taking a picture of some bird while drinking his coffee.
Maybe he needs more privacy and less aggravation. Maybe the loss of his wife is catching up with him. I just want to make sure he
is physically ok. And for sure no discussion of the disease that cannot be named.

31 going to 59. Nice and clear skies.

Don, interesting idea...let me know how that eggshell works out...but is that allowed in your diet? It seems that the use of the eggshells was aimed at poor quality coffee beans or extraction, and you do well on both of those, so probably wouldn't benefit.

Roy, glad your wife is feeling better.

RNG, great pix.

36 going to 60 today.
Monthly Breakfast with friends today, we will see who can tell the biggest fib.
I got the Jeep inspected yesterday and found out it had all new brakes. The guy that owns the dealership where I got it inspected is an old boating buddy so we talked about boats and everybody we knew. He offered to buy the Jeep for more than I paid. He sells only trucks and SUV’s. I have to get the tag sticker today while I’m out, bank trip as well. I go to a private tag and title company since our MVA is appointment only and at least two weeks backlog all the time. I save way more on taxes than the fees they charge.

I need to get moving, have a good one.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 4:00AM. Sunny. High near 75F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Still a broken record in the 10-day.

I'm up early today after hearing the alarm go off in the van. It reports that the battery voltage is a low 10.9V, and I wonder why since it should be plugged in to a battery charger. Maybe its jealous that the motorcycles have been getting all the attention lately? 🤬

Interesting statistic, Drew. What link did you use to find it?

That's about what the dealer quoted to fix the propeller shaft leak on the old Kubota, RS. Made the decision to fix it myself easy. And the decision to sell it, too, as it was starting to leak again. I found a thread here on TBN that the seal had been redesigned by Kubota several times, and has been an ongoing issue.

Finished buttoning up the touring bike yesterday, then dove in repairing a cable on the audio system. It uses 1/8" microphone connectors, and two of the wires on one end had broken off. There are four of them, all very tiny, and the plastic melted when I tried to unsolder them. I had a new connector "in stock" but had a devil of a time getting all of those itty bitty wires in their itty bitty holes. It was an Opti-Visor/tweesers job for sure. It all worked on the test ride, well enough that I heard the radar detector with enough advance warning to slow to more appropriate speeds when passed by one of California's finest coming the other way. Today I'll re-torque the heads, reset the valves, and go for another ride. Probably repeat that another time or two until the head gaskets are properly settled in. Then a grocery run to town should finish the day.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Festus and Chester on Gunsmoke were the only ones I ever knew to use eggshells in the coffee.
Bird and Wngsprd, I also saw it on TV - Fraiser, and then looked it up. We don't buy eggs so I won't be trying it. Wngsprd, It is not plant-based so just getting the right bean is best. Is there a way to measure the acidity in coffee?

Good morning! 31˚F heading to the mid 70s with sunny skies.
Eye appointment today and need to pick out some new frames. This will be my first appointment since we moved, so about 3 years. For some reason glasses don't make me look smarter just older, maybe I need more frame options or less gray hair.

Knee is still achy, so still healing from the fall. I only had to take pain med the night I fell, so only one day of side effects and that's over. Doing 5 miles on the bike really limbers it up but still it swells at the end of the day. The good new is I don't have pain when I walk and I stopped limping which my wife says make me look 20 years younger. She is nice.

Morning all, nice at 30F and sun is peeking through trees.

Roy - great to hear that Ms. Roy is more up and about. Bet she is happy to be more independent before spring.

Stay safe and be well,

Today we are in the Netherlands. Always love the museums and cafes.
Though you have to be careful in the smoky ones....

Comfy shoes anyone?

Nothing like than having the right tool for the job, Kyle. Even better if you get to use it and don't have to pay to maintain it. 🤭(y)
This is the lathe I had to replace a shaft, pulley and most of the bearings in the headstock....so I have some blood equity in it too.

I'm behind on reading. Will catch up later.

Good morning to all! Low of 22°, going up to 50°, sunny. More snow melt-off should occur for sure.

The driveway got really soft, almost muddy. I knew I should have gotten the gravel when I wanted too! Now need to wait longer until the spring.....

Roy, great to hear the wifey is getting around better. Keep helping....

Mostly, glad you got caught up.... helps me remember all the on-goings, especially first thing in the morning.

Don, glad the knee is getting better, don't overdo it.

Drew, have fun supervising, or at least watching.....

In another thread, someone posted a recall on the Harbor Freight roller stool. The seat may suddenly break off of the center post.... That wouldn't be fun to have happen. I have to check the numbers on my two.....
There were about 480K sold that will be replaced or refunded..... I bet that might dent the bottom line for HF. Well, maybe not.... that only equals to about $1.2M.... small change for HF.

I received the at home alligator test kits yesterday in the mail. Nobody here is sick, so they will sit on the shelf and hopefully not need to be used..... They expire in 6 months.

I have declared today as "putter day".... I don't know where I will be puttering to, but it should be fun!

Everyone have a great day!

31°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 47° today. Mid-50s expected tomorrow, so more snow melt.

Walked down to drag the trash can back up from the road yesterday evening and noticed there were more than a few leaf dams clogging up the ditch along our side of the road. Started using a large stick to clear them, but decided a better tool would be less work. When I took the trash can back, I grabbed a garden rake and went back at it. Noticed that the culvert under the other driveway was almost completely clogged, so I started there and worked my way back. Pulled a lot of wet leaves out in some big piles, and even broke up some ice here and there. A little sore this morning, but the water from the snow melt was flowing uninhibited ... at least along our property anyway.

Confirmed yesterday that I'll be making a trip to Louisville next week to visit a customer. I was not really looking forward to this pending trip as it involves a couple of long-running troublesome parts, both on our end and theirs. However, new information revealed by them yesterday eased the tension and has turned it into more of a goodwill visit. Customer is pleased that I'm still coming, and since it's a big company with whom we do a lot of business, that's a good thing.

Glad your wife is doing better, Roy. Hang in there with the new training.

Will call him today and say hi from all of us.

Like others, I sure do miss his contributions here. Never had the pleasure of meeting him (in spite of him having visited friends just 10 miles from me), but he sure does come across as a genuinely good guy. Hope all is well with him.

37F with some clouds and wind but some sun as well @ 11:00, supposedly heading up to a high of 39F ... so some more melting.

Made run to Menards yesterday afternoon, dropped off a load of recyclables in the can up at the road on the way out. A lot of gravel showing through on driveway ... (y)

Stopped at Pet Supplies Plus on the way there and picked up another bag of dry cat food and treats.

Swung by the Mexican place on way back home and picked up dinner.

Got car unloaded right after we got home, before dinner.

Watched Nature on PBS last night (penguins), then more of the Olympics, mostly snowboarding/halfpipe and men's downhill skiing.

Did not get feeders refilled yesterday, so that will be on the agenda this morning.

Hope everyone is having a great day ... (y)

RS sorry about the screen in the pic,

No biggie ... ;)

does not sound like dealer will get the project.

Probably not ... but in talking with them the guy said he was estimating on the high side, because he didn't want to go low and have it come in higher and then have to have that conversation.

Probably will depend on whether I can line up my retired heavy equipment mechanic neighbor to "supervise" ... ;)

Seems like that's a reasonable possibility, since he's nearly always willing to help.

Glad trip went safely and Dr. visit had a good report.

Hope you can get that nap in today.

Looks like I have some car work this weekend. Wife got a mile down road last night and Honda was acting up. Check engine light flashing.
No codes show up on ODB scanner.
The check engine light has been on for awhile,
Maintenance light now on as it needs oil change.
When I tried Honda after I got home, it ran ok, but noticed when I got out with it running, it was running rough. Maybe bad gas. Maybe needs new plugs. Probably has original plugs, I don’t recall changing them.

61°F and 0 rain

Good trip to Kona yesterday, just expensive and long.

Need to spend some time cleaning in the caretaker unit today and load up for dump run tomorrow.

Sophie has dental appointment late morning, small cavity. First work by our new, younger dentist.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

That's about what the dealer quoted to fix the propeller shaft leak on the old Kubota, RS.

Yeah ... I didn't find the amount he estimated to be entirely unreasonable ... just more than I'd really prefer to spend ... :giggle:

Made the decision to fix it myself easy. And the decision to sell it, too, as it was starting to leak again. I found a thread here on TBN that the seal had been redesigned by Kubota several times, and has been an ongoing issue.

Interesting (the redesign)

Mine has a propeller shaft leak as well, been leaking for quite a while. Would make a real mess on the MMM when I had it mounted.

Initially though it might the front drain plug for hydro ... eventually decided it was the seal.

That is on the menu to be replaced along with the plastic propeller shaft cover. Will also do the seals on the front axles as well while I'm into it, as they are overdue at this point.

Check the gas cap- once mine was loose and it caused all kinds of issues!

this one's for RNG

RS, always more to fix, job creep...

landscapers said I didn't have to stay, good, small job for them, I'll go back on way out to dinner tonight and check it out.
I remembered to send thank you to company who did not get the job.

That festival in Austin is supposed to be huge, any of you guys go for the music?
