good morning all. Last warm day for a while

gas here is creeping back up to 4 dollars a gallon. Glad I don't drive much.

Doug, sorry that tree jumped out in front of you. Heal quickly.

Wingsprd, nice pics.

Think I'll make myself a western omelette and have another cup of coffee.

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 4:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 77F. Winds light and variable
The slight chance of rain Monday has disappeared from the 10-day.

When demand goes up and supply goes down, you pay more at the pump. I'm just happy we can get all we want, and don't have to wait in line or have it rationed. But you win the top fuel cost prize, Bill.

Spent some time up at the Social Security site looking at the actuarial tables and estimated benefits. Was surprised to see my life expectancy had decreased by about six months, while the benefit had gone up. But then the last time I checked was at least ten years ago, and that disease we can't mention wasn't even a thought.

Speaking of which, the free test kits I ordered over three weeks ago finally got here. Good thing I didn't need them sooner.

Was pleased that only one valve needed adjustment on the touring bike, and all of them were OK when I checked the zebra. An oil change on the zebra finished out the day, and now I'm pretty much caught up on vehicle maintenance.

Still have a few downed trees to get after, so maybe the ground is dry enough to get after them with the tractor. I picked up another twenty feet of tow chain last week at HF, so might have enough to reach them from above if not. I guess we'll see.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

50 outside this AM. Playing catch up on most fronts already.

Shopping trip turned into a shopping spree yesterday. Wife is a bad mood shopper. LOL. I stayed in her truck. LOL.

Duck and cover is my go-to strategy.

Weather front is moving in, so I need to get busy. Temps should be in the 30's by tomorrow. So will be enjoying the "nice" weather today.

Hope all have a great weekend. Enjoy the SB if you watch it. Be safe.

RNG, I know you have explained this before but I'll cry age here, could you explain the history of your BMW painted

Don't worry if you get the count wrong you are normal.

it pains me a little to keep seeing "in between now" each time I log in.
Just never know what the future will bring.

but at least every time I turn on pc my screensaver makes me smile.
Based on this picture.
Day 2 of owning Massey 4707
I was dazzled by its Ferrari red paint job and being an old car waxer, got a thick coat
of carnauba wax on that hood, and wheels, and wherever.
And then I took this pic.
Before the tractor ever got dirty.
Which it sure did.
Pulling a disc harrow through farmland in a nice tractor is just downright fun.
The seat is comfortable, it's not very noisy in there, I didn't even need ear protection.
My older Kubota was much noisier btw. This was a new Massey/Agco design with a very well made insulated cab.

so I may be in between now but I sure have good memories.
and if I think about it, I can hear it start up every morning.

oops wrong pic, will find the right one.
darn, had too much personal stuff on pic, well here's the Massey red from the 2615 I had.

I wonder if there is an easy way to make all the buttons on one's screen temporarily disappear?

well this is the hood on the second pic but my screen shows the tractor looking at me with big stylized "eyes".
I'll keep looking for it, fact I had to take a pic of my actual screen vs finding the digital file means I've misplaced the original.
But if it's my screensaver, should be able to find it going to screensaver area. That hasn't worked. Fun to look at old pics anyway.

Good Morning.
It’s 47 for today, gets cold and supposed to snow overnight.

Yesterday we took Emily to the vet, bloodwork was all normal, so they suspect the cause of the seizure is neurological. Said they could do an MRI and possible surgery. Considering she is 9-1/2 years old, which is up there for a large breed, we are not going to pursue anything that aggressive. Just give her anti seizure medication and let her continue to be a happy dog.
Her demeanor is amazing. While sitting in the waiting room, every person, vet, tech, or other people had to stop and pet her. No other dog in the room got that treatment.

I did get the ductwork finished in the basement when we got home, but not much else for the day.

Today I’m going to help with a mini-split install with my mechanical contractor buddy. When I get home I’ve got a welding project for another friend, making some lumber racks for his shop.

I counted 3 F’s

Good morning! 31 now, temps to slowly drop all day.

The warm days of late has done wonders at starting to get rid of the ice from the ice storm last week. Still a ways to go. Temps in the 50’s are predicted this week. That should help.

My wife surprised me this morning. She suggested we go to the shelter to what is available. It has only been a week. The 2 surviving cats don’t even act like anything has changed. So guess we make a road trip this afternoon.

I have been S L O W L Y rebuilding a 1952 BSA M33. With a lot of emphasis on slowly. Have had a mental block over the fuel tank mounting. Tanks for this specific model impossible to find, so I don’t want to damage this tank due to incorrect mounting. I have the right pieces, but there is no good information on how the pieces fit. A friend in the UK is hung up on the same thing with his M20. I have been looking at a lot of grainy photo’s, Mike has been measuring ancient NOS rubber parts, and between the 2 of us, think we figured it out this week. I now have the tank mounted and it looks like it will work! Finally!

Everyone stay safe out there!

That paint job is the product of a ten year old boy watching too much TV back in the '60s, Drew. There was a John Wayne movie called Hitari that came out back then, and it featured a vet in Africa that went around in an olive drab Land Rover painted with black zebra stripes. Later, a TV series called Daktari featured the same theme, but used white Jeeps painted the same way.

More than thirty years later, I bought a purple motorcycle, and while I wasn't exactly in love with the color, I could live with it until the Barney jokes started. Since it was a dual sport bike, an off road theme seemed appropriate, and that Daktari zebra paint job sprang to mind. Hours and tons of tape, paint, and sandpaper later, Barney was in the rear view mirrors. When I logged yesterday's oil change, I noticed that the odometer now reads nearly 155,000, miles, all but 18,000 of which I've put on in the past 22 years.

Morning all, 48 going to 55, and still calling for snow tomorrow, though not much.
My company has a number of ads in the superbowl from Pringles to Volvo, so we will see how they did.

Today I am out on the woods while the kid is at band practice.

BEF - bubble wrap and ice cleats
Drew-let me know if you want me to stop by and drill that stump for you. Could make a nice short term fire pit
Alien- be careful with the rib- will need to take it easy for a while.
RNG - I showed hitari to my wife who is not a big John Wayne fan. We have been on safari in Africa, though not Tanzania and she really liked that movie, so now she is still not a fan, but can say she likes at least one of his movies.

I saw some F's and other letters :)

Gotta go, vines won't get rid of themselves.

Stay safe and be well,
They used to use these as forest tractors in India, we rode one up to the Amber fort.
Nothing like riding high up on a narrow cliff road in a place where liability is not really a concept.
Have ridden a number of elephants and camels, but prefer horses.

what a great story, thanks RNG.
You can make up great stories of all the safaris you have been on.
Once there was a zebra that posed by my bike...
Well loved bike, that's a lot of miles. Has the engine been rebuilt? rings?
