Good morning!!!!

/ Good morning!!!! #149,482
54F and cloudy @ 19:15, heading down to 45F for the overnight low.

Got hopper feeder refilled first thing, then slight change of plans:

Was pretty miserable out (cool, damp, and miserable) and I needed take the 7 lb. bag of sunflower seeds back to Menards (that they mistakenly gave me for 16 lb. bag of safflower seed I actually ordered and paid for) so we headed off up to the Menards in Kent.

Since we were going there anyways I placed an order for another 2.2 cu ft bale of peat moss as we were getting low, another 8-pack of peanut suet, and a new handle for a bow rake.

Swung by TSC on the way up and grabbed a couple of 40 lb bags of 12-12-12.

Once we got to Menards and got things exchanged and loaded up, we walked up front and had a look at an battery-powered electric cultivator that The Woman had expressed an interest in:

She doesn't like using the Stihl FS 66 (as a cultivator or a string trimmer) - claims it is too heavy, hard to start (for her) and it is kind of long, given her short stature.

It was on closeout ("while supplies last") + the 11% rebate knocked about $20 off the cost. It is her birthday tomorrow ... so Happy Birthday Woman !

Deepending on how it works out I might even be tempted to use it myself on occasion ... ;)

After we got home, She ran back out to DG for a birthday card for a friend and to Subway to grab some dinner for us.

I assembled Her new cultivator whilst that was occurring and put the battery on charge.

After dinner I unloaded the car and inquired if she was still interested in giving me a hand in fishing the hawk out. She was not (unusual) ... so I guess that will wait until tomorrow.

Moved the veggie seed starts - which are still pretty small and tender - out of the garage now that the chance of rain has passed for the moment

Activities for tonight might be getting some more seeds planted, but definitely a sheet cake.

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday ... (y)

I just ordered my wife one from Home Depot, she loved it. Supposed to be here Friday. I already have a drill and string trimmer that uses that battery and I have three of them. Thanks!

Alien, hope wifey and you heal up.

Randy, great news on the "gone" tumor.

BEF, hard to get anything done with a kitty on your lap.

RS, let us know how the cultivator works out.

RNG....willing to drill a huge hole (not really) for fast internet.... :)

Rich, sounds like a possible good source of knowledge, and a new friend. I'm "jones-ing" for some flat track. They need to have some more races this time of the year IMO. But what do I know....I'm only a fan. Did you go to the same races that Estenson went to? Seems like Honda and KTM are throwing the big money and support at the 450 class now.

It looks like I might be jumping ship very soon. Going to be hard to do. Mostly for better/cheaper benefits, retirement, 10 minutes time shaved off of each ways' trip. You guys help me end my first sentence of my announcement to management....I'm looking for a word to finish this sentence...give me a serious one, and a funny one if you want. "After 13 ____________ years, with great _______________, I have decided to turn in my notice." Or something like that. I really do like my job, and don't want to burn any bridges....

Prayers for You guys who have sickness/pains, for rains to put out the forest fires, the US of A, and Ukraine.

G'nite those stateside, G'morning down under.

/ Good morning!!!! #149,487
Good early arvo everyone. Cool overnight temp of 6C and currently 14C, fairly calm (although there's a wind warning active) overcast with no rain as of yet (although there's a rain/flooding warning active). Sounds like the BoM is just 'covering their arse'. Still, I'd like a good downpour for my house tank.

Into town at noon for my flu shot.

That's about it. Take care all.

/ Good morning!!!! #149,489
"After 13 ____________ years, with great _______________, I have decided to turn in my notice."
After 13 of my most miserable, frustrating, and unrewarded years, with great relief, I have decided to turn in my notice.

OR

After 13 wonderful years, with the greatest people, I have decided to turn in my notice.

OR

After much thought and prayer, weighing work and family, reward and sacrifice, I've made the difficult decision to seek other opportunities and turn in my notice.

OR (in the immortal words of Johnny Paycheck)

Take this job and shove it, I ain't workin' here no more." :ROFLMAO:

Best of luck, Kyle!

BEF, hard to get anything done with a kitty on your lap.

Yes it is. It jumped up later, right onto my computer , but I let it lay down and sleep. Was hard to get work done with a painful tooth also.

At least I started the antibiotic.. up to take Tylenol.

/ Good morning!!!! #149,491
Kyle, I’d say “ I’m resigning to pursue a new opportunity “

But “take this job and shove it” has a nice ring to it.

I might be right behind you writing that note.

/ Good morning!!!! #149,492
When my wife checks herself with the pulse oximeter, it keeps beeping indicating a oxy level of 93% which is a bit too low. I decided to order her a oxygen generator that may help her fatigue and hopefully perk her oxy levels up a bit. We shall see.
Gee, I smoke and my oxy level is 98%. It should be me having problems.

Kyle, I'm sure you will find the right words and best wishes whatever you choose.

/ Good morning!!!! #149,493
Kyle your heart will tell you the right words. If this is truly what you want to do then god bless in your new journey

53 high of 74 today

Prayers for all

Hope the pain in your tooth subsides quickly BEF

Good morning, low temp is 37 and going to a high of 61°F. Wind E 7 mph. Mainly sunny! Now that is more like it.

Outside again today and cut the other drawbar rail off the trailer. Then the mower should be here and pick up the cat in the afternoon. Another almost full day.

Happy Birthday Mrs. rswyan

Have a safe day all

/ Good morning!!!! #149,495
good morning all
57 going up to 73 today in cloudy skies.
Headed over to friend's this morning with leftover flower seeds and will help plant her
new garden. Probably two hours of that and my back will give out.
Then home for a shower and out again to get fourth alligator shot.
Now that my oldest friend is fighting chemo, I need to be extra safe around him. And will wear my mask off course.

not much worse than an infected tooth/jaw. Several times I've had to take penicillin to beat it. Keep penicillin in the medicine cabinet
just for that. Which reminds me I need another root canal since lower left has been hurting for awhile.
What a miserable thing to look forward to, an hour of pure torture for someone with a fused neck and tinnitus, and costs around 1500 bucks that
normal insurance of course doesn't cover. But if you don't go, it never gets better. And you are left with a big ache in your jaw.

Alien, very sorry your arm is hurt, that sounds really painful. I'm guessing you are in a sling soon.

when I get back from getting my shot this afternoon will mow the lawn. Really doesn't need it but all the dandelion stalks make it look pretty wild.

hope everyone has a good day

One of us needs to find the fountain of youth for the rest of us... ;)

56 and sunny going to 74. Nice day.

Happy Birthday to Mrs. RS! Enjoy that beautiful flower paradise.

Don, good point about the natural antibodies.

BEF, hope you're feeling better.

Gee, Alien, that arm sounds serious and painful. Be careful.

RNG, not sure you want to use my design for a model, especially with your talents...just logs stacked, retaining posts, and backfilled with sand...I'll try to take my phone for a pic next time I go down there.

Kyle, I'm sure your decision has been well thought out and prayed over...good luck with the transition..."After 13 memorable years...making great friends..." Neat pic of the sink and mayo.

Took my wife to the dentist yesterday..she broke a small piece off a tooth...got it fixed, then took her to share French fries at 5 Guys for lunch...where she broke another one...so took her back. Gave me time to look for a few things on my hardware store list...got some, but one torsion spring is very elusive...not at Ace, TSC, or Home Depot...then looked online and nothing popped up after looking at several websites.

50F and cloudy @ 07:30, will likely stay cloudy until around 12:00 then might see a a few breaks until around 14:00 or so ... but is expected to cloud up after that with rain moving in around 21:00. Looks like it will be a two day rain event, with around 1 1/2" of rain over that time.

Woman just walked into the room in a complete fog and asked me if I had just yelled really loud. "Ahh ... no. You must have been dreaming really good." ... to which she agreed. I now hear the coffee grinder going ... (y) ... ;)

Deer still dropping by for free treats, with some indications here and there that they are still tearing up the lawn looking for grubs:

Watched the Nova special on PBS about cats last night. Squeak was laying on my lap and heard a "meow" and promptly hopped down and went over in front of the TV and sat down and intently watched it, fascinated, without moving anything but her head for about 5 minutes:

IMG_1660 copy.jpg

I got another pan of soil baked and sifted for potting purposes later after that, also filled 6 ten-cell peat pot trays with soil. Still have enough leftover to do some more. Probably use those to plant some catnip, cat mint, coleus, and lavender this morning while it's warming up outside.

Being up this early on what promises to be a relatively decent day weather-wise holds the prospect of getting a lot done. I hope that pans out.

The battery for The Woman's new cultivator is now charged so I'm sure She will give it a thorough test run later.

Should be dry enough to get some more bulbs planted today.

A few more planting beds need the leaves cleaned off them.

Some of the day lily clumps on the north side of the garage might get dug up and transplanted around that redbud tree.

Maybe get that handheld sprayer loaded with some glyphosate and spray a few areas since there's not supposed to be much wind.

Beyond that we'll have to see what turns up.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday ... (y)

Morning all, 55 going up to 73 and cloudy. Wet out.
Need to cut the grass, but too wet. Lucky it's my left foot that is messed up so don't need it to mow (always look on the bright side of life).
Dad and girlfriend are still here and their aligator test came back negative so they are off today to their cruise.

toppop - hope all ok and this is just a temporary thing
Alien - hope Leslie feels better- winter blues? hope O2 generator helps. Can they do anything to help with your arm?
Happy Birthday Mrs. RS!

Stay safe and be well,
