Has the level of the lake really dropped?

looks dry, hilly and not too populated there. I know nothing about California.
weather and rain is always a big part of the discussion here, and we all want to send some water your way.

Good morning! A warm humid 77˚F before sunrise. Cloud cover today should keep us in the low 90s. Chance of rain increases tomorrow and through Wednesday.

A bit of excitement this morning when I let whipper into the back yard. She chased something into the hedges and the hedges were waving back and forth and she was growling and running about. She had her bark collar on so she did not bark. I ran to the utility room to get the flashlight but by the time I was back out the critter was gone and Whipper gave no indication where to shine the flashlight. The critter dug up all my dead grass on the side yard. I'll get a pic when the sun comes out and check for evidence of a heinous crime.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
We were slow rolling up the driveway just before dark had to come to complete stop.2 gray fox pups were setting and giving us they look of discuss was little late giving them their treats.

Plans for today...finish putting wood furnace back together,check game cams,some good ole fashion bbqing late afternoon.

I keep thinking about a dog. I have the back yard.
Could use some company.
need one that doesn't shed.
For a while we had weimeramers on the farm. Sleek dogs.
Don't think they lasted too long, no idea why.

I need a medium sized dog. Friendly. Obedient.
most neighbors have to install electronic dog fences.
Too much traffic on road to allow pets to run free.
really nice black standard poodle across the road, pretty big dog.

big soft ear to scratch, short haired lab?
and maybe walking the dog would be good exercise, which I need, and
I might meet someone interesting in the process.

Plenty of rain yesterday. We did switch to a better hotel yesterday.
My son lost power after we left his place last night.

Today will be meeting some old friends at worship. Then hopefully lunch with them and our son. Then off to who knows where.

Good Morning.
It’s 68 and might make it to 90 with a chance of evening showers today.

Yesterday was spent mostly at home, ran a few errands, never to to airport to finish up the biplane. Brisket came out of the smoker about noon, 17 hours after it went in.

Wrapped it in foil and put it in cooler to wait for dinner.

Got it sliced up and served with corn on the cob, Cole slaw, baked beans and fresh sourdough bread. Nobody left the table hungry.

Hopefully today I’ll get to finish up the biplane and give it a much needed bath. Not much else planned.

Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 6:00AM. Sunny. High 102F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
Some rain would be nice here, too, but the 10-day promises only highs in the hundreds and high 90s with clear skies.

Nice to see some new faces around here. Welcome!

Finished off the last of the trench yesterday, mostly with a shovel and rake. Not the kind of work to be doing in 100F heat, but that's the way the day went.

Ran a compression check on the new bike, results OK. It stopped smoking, too, so some oil must of leaked into the combustion chambers during transport. Also learned that the headlight lens is cracked, and there's a small dent in the fuel tank that didn't show up in the photos.

Turns out my friend Chris has a cylinder head that will replace the damaged one on the red bike, so it might be back on the road sooner than I thought. A bit of luck there, I think.

Drew my parents always had standard poodles one black one one white one. We inherited the last one when mother died. She coexisted very well with our golden. Great dogs very smart, Mary Beth understand over 200 words.

The book Travels with Charlie was a great book about traveling with a poodle

Good morning to all! Low was 52°, high today should be somewhere in the upper 70's. No likely rain, but a slight chance of storms.

The grand today for yesterday's rain was 1". Thought for sure it was going to be more with the way the weather guessers were all excited. That's ok, it was a steady rain, sometimes a little stronger, but it was able to soak in vs. flood.

The highest temp that I saw yesterday was 57°, that was around 17:00. I actually got a little chilled last evening. The rainy weather kept me inside, except for a trip to the auto parts store to get some more Jeep parts.

Internet went down again yesterday afternoon, as of late last night, still wasn't working. They did put out an email about the last outage.... they blamed it on the power company. Wonder if it will be the same excuse?
We are expecting high speed fiber optic soon, the conduit has been run up the road and pedestals installed. Now we just wait until the install crews get here. They are currently about 2 miles away.

With all the "down time" yesterday, I was disappointed that I didn't even get a nap.... I'm try to think of what I did do to pass the time.... totally blank.

Doug (Alien), glad you got a chance to go to the club and fly. I still haven't flown anything. Always something more important to tend to.....

Drew, dogs are wonderful companions. I don't think there was ever a time in my life when we didn't have a dog. At one point, we actually had 5..... way too many! We have had Schnauzers for the last 25 years. Smart, independent, loyal, non shedding. BUT... full of energy!

With all the rain this past week, the weeds are ready to be terminated again. And the fields are all green, definitely need to be cut in the next week or so. Probably won't have to cut them again this year after this.

Headin' out shortly for our 'road trip'.... I'm not used to going anywhere without at least a little bit of planning.... this may prove to be a new adventure.

Morning, got to the fair yesterday. Got some mulch moved, about 10 bucketloads.
Need to work in the big garden to remove some stiltgrass.
used the flail to grind up some small brush at the end of the lower field, much faster than the brushcutter.
tired.
Got Sausage sandwiches to bring home.

You beat me to that Buppies. Get a dog, the women will appear. That, and hanging out at the grocery store -great place to meet people ... I tell my single friends that.

as far as the preferred dog breed, that depends on a lot of things. that is the fun part
there are websites that can assist with dog breeds selection.

absolutely Roy. Local SPCA would be first place to look.
I'm sure not purebred...no expectations in a dog. A happy mutt is fine.
