58°F and foggy this morning, going up to 84° today. Forecast calling for chance of rain much of next week. We sure could use some at our place.

Actually doing some Quality Jerk stuff in the office today 😮. Now I'm flooded with documentation stuff that hasn't been getting done while I've been out babysitting production folks for the last three weeks. So it goes.

Roy, I've had some conversation back and forth with the President of that company, but it's always been initiated from my end. He told me he was going to schedule a team interview each of the last two weeks, but hasn't. I'm taking that as not necessarily interested, and moving on elsewhere. I have an interview scheduled at another place next week. This one contacted me out of the blue. The hunt continues.

Still not caught up here yet either. Hope everyone is well.

Good morning, gents.
Keep at it...I never stop looking. Not a job hopper (been here almost 8 years) but always looking for a better opportunity

The pipe organ company I used to work for built an instrument in 1962 for the Higashi Hongwanji Mission in Hilo. As the only Buddhist to ever work for that company, I spent a fair amount of time trying to convince the President to send me there for a "wellness check" on the organ. Didn't work, but I kept trying nonetheless .
PJ, am I allowed to go in a Buddhist temple?
If I get there, I'll surely go.
I think pipe organs are very neat

have a couple of thick loin pork chops to slobber some sauce on, put them on my nice clean grill and goober that all up...
need to hunt around for a new sauce, something I haven't tried. Fruit glaze is always good, added half way through

hmmm, have some local garlic given to me. My Mother used to cut little sliver holes in pork roasts and stuff garlic bits in there.
Might try something like that. Everything goes better with garlic.

Hongwanji, learned a new term, all good

No 1 washing machine crapped itself yesterday. Water wouldn't empty and error code OE. Hand emptied and dragged it outside and removed outlet filter. Hose and outlet were clean except for 3 x 5c pieces. Seems like the pump might be gone so since it is 10 years old I think we will go get a new one today. We have another fairly new machine in the back laundry but we only use it for work clothes etc.
Neighbour came up for a yarn so we had a couple of JDs. He has 8 motorbikes mostly vintage, BSA, Matchless, and others.
Dr was sick but rang me yesterday to tell me my results of scans, xrays and blood tests.
All organs in perfect shape. Shoulder has bursitis, degeneration and a tear so working on a plan for that. Upped the pain killer dosage meantime. She has written a letter to the hospital urging them to progress me on the waiting list for my hand surgery so it is wait and see.
Lesley is learning to cope with wearing a mask every night and a change in medication has helped her but still a long way to go. She has to go to hospital 14th Sept to see specialist who explain what they have to do to her. Not looking forward to that.
Our weather has been very warm and sunny (considering it is Winter) but out of the blue last night it started raining and this morning it is quite cool. 8.5 deg C when I got up. Bit of a shock.

Good Afternoon

Catching up again.
Had a busy morning ... coffee, then load of laundry (wash and dry), a walk-in bath / shower, then washed, sorted, packed, and refridgerated 9 dozen eggs, took out the garbage and the recycling, started to load theand truck for a dump run later this week, now having a coffee while making my list for tomorrow's shopping / errands in town. Probably doing Bookkeeping for the rest of the day.
I need to get a bit of maintenance done on my truck, prior to driving Sister In Laws stuff back North, with a U-Haul trailer in September
A buddy wants me to assist in drafting a Rental Agreement for him. New tenant in Sept.
A Senior at Church (recent widow) requires some assistance with filing her taxes for last year(s) still.
I'm Reviewing the Regional Director Application Package. I'm still considering running for the position in October's election, but I have a few questions yet. Politics is a new idea for me, but I have plenty of experience with Government stuff (a whole career), could be interesting, and I think it is still only going to be about 8 - 10 hrs a week, including the monthly meetings.

that's it for now, have a good afternoon and evening

Ran some more errands this morning, then came home to do some phone calls.... well, more like waiting on hold for every call. The longest was 45 minutes. I did get everything resolved however. Only took about 4 hours.

After that fiasco, no motivation remained to do anything else. Hopefully, I won't have to do this again. I'm still waiting for one callback.

Hopefully, I'll get some relief from the knee after tomorrow. The nerve block will happen tomorrow morning. Need to get there early, procedure scheduled for 09:00. I sure am hoping that this helps.

BUT....(there is always a 'but') .... conflicting info already: One form states to rest and limit activity after the procedure. Another form, and the Dr, state to maintain my 'normal activity' afterwards. The activity and pain scale are to be recorded hourly.... this needs to be clarified.

The rain chances are very good tomorrow, so maybe Mother Nature will decide how much activity will occur.

Everyone have a great evening!

Started mowing after supper, got about half done and finished when I couldn’t tell where I’ve been.
Going in tomorrow for driver’s license renewal. Think I found all documents needed. Took a long time to find my original SS card.
Wife picked a lot of green beans. Not sure she finished picking all. I need to start digging potatoes soon.

Realized my mail box alerts were on old WiFi, so reprogrammed it for SL. Need to hop on that router to see what’s still on it.
I took the mobley (sim now in a netgear modem) on my trip, and used one of my small AR routers. Had both plugged into power strip, plugged into a small inverter. Put it all in a box, run it from the car while traveling, plug in at hotel at night.
Let us use more data while traveling, although the little AR router isn’t the best.

FINALLY got caught up with the reading here. Whew! Now I need a nap.

Read some conversation from a couple weeks ago about mowing on steep slopes, and I've always been fascinated by those guys, too. Recently, I've been seeing some mowers along I-70 through north St. Louis city that I'd never seen before. Did a little Googling this evening and found that they are Kut Kwick SlopeMaster mowers. Never heard of them before. Pretty interesting with wide dual tires and lower center of gravity than a tractor. Not sure if they belong to the city or the state of Missouri, but there sure seems to be quite a few of them.

Good mid (Wednesday) arvo. The overnight Low was -0.4C (around 0230) but then quickly rose to 8.4C for the morning. It's overcast, no rain, and fairly calm with a High of 13C.

I've been to town for groceries and a few scripts, although I've a later Dr.'s appointment; nothing's wrong, just need some new scripts and to get a note/letter for my scripts as, at the end of September I'm travelling to Canada to visit family. I'm only going for a fortnight (Sister & Aunt live in Burlington, Ontario).

As I've already mentioned, tomorrow is AGFEST, so I may be late on here or delayed to Friday.

Take care all.

good morning all
looks like a nice sunny Wednesday, about 90 out
off early to go watch tree company take down large tree in graveyard at church.
They will need some big equipment, tree is right near ancient stone wall, everything needs to be lifted out, nothing can
fall into graveyard. taking my Kindle and camera.

That KutKwik looks like something Gravely would make, heavy duty for sure. Looks like a competitor to the one I just saw at grange fair, though not articulated.

speaking of Gravely, lots of fun planned for tomorrow. Hooking up trailer and heading towards Fort Dix NJ tomorrow to retrieve "my" Gravely 8199 from friend's mother's farm, where
it wound up when my farm was sold. I was not going to let that favorite machine get away; gave it to a best friend. Now I'm healthy again, but no place to store it.
I'm going to go over it carefully and give it a good grease job. With its big comfy orthopedic seat, a new 23hp Vanguard engine, it's just a marvelous machine, now sitting doing nothing.
I really worked that tiny tractor on the NC farm, did all kinds of jobs. This was my weeding rig for going between potato rows.
It really should go to a home where it will be used more.

Zero turns took over the market and a high end garden tractor like this couldn't compete against the
mass production of big box John Deeres and Toros. It's the kind of old fashioned but still very capable machinery that just won't die if you maintain it.
All that weight over the rear axle like a VW Bug means remarkable traction. I got it stuck a few times until I put those ag tires on it. With the ribbed tires in front,
it has a nice mini agricultural look. But no poser, it knows how to work. Third pic is my BIL enjoying a little dirt time. He's the guy who did my avatar.
Note the white plastic on the deck edge. For mowing near gravestones...

I had four tractors on that farm and I think I still liked this best. Well the big Massey really was fun...

I was thinking Lou would like the design and simplicity.
And a hand clutch just like the JD B I grew up with.
I've missed it...

guess I'll be mowing the lawn this afternoon. Everything is super green out.
