Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 14C and predicted High of 16C. Steady wind from the South drops the temperature at least 4C due to wind-chill. It is WET and so sodden that there's nowhere for the water to go... if fact, when I flushed the toilet this morning it almost 'backed-up', so the septic system will take awhile to settle down.o_O There was 35.2mm in the gauge at 0900 and it's still raining, although a fine, soaking, mist.

As I wrote yesterday, it's 'in-to-town' day for Veterans' Coffee, groceries and then, this afternoon, a funeral. Hopefully there will be a good turnout for the funeral. Not only because the weather is miserable but due to any road flooding in the area.

That's about it, take care all.

Really sorry to read that Doug. To be honest, if me, they would be gone, no ands if or buts. So sad.

Realtor was at the lot, probably to get his sign. He thinks neighbors were looking at wrong marker.
IMG_6854.JPG

The new dividing line between lots is marked A-B-C. But there’s a funny corner on my lot , marked 3, 2, then up to A. Neighbor was probably thinking their corner was the 3 or the 2, but it’s A. They were still mowing way past that point though.

My other neighbor on east side actually owns some on my side of the road, hence the funny corner.

59F and "Fair" @ 21:00, heading down to a low of around 56F.

I mentioned earlier, got all the gutter covers installed on the front side as well as getting the leaves blown out and the gutters scrubbed out.

Went around back and got all the leaves blown out on the back gutter too ... (y)

Pics will have to wait until Thursday, as I was rushing to finish up before dark.

Had an unwanted visitor this afternoon. I was up on the scissors lift at the time and The Woman alerted me to his presence:

IMG_2057 copy.jpg

By the time that picture was taken he had at least one bullet in him. He did not go down easy, no idea how many actually hit him but I ultimately fired over a dozen rounds with the Ruger .380.

Not real keen on seeing them out and about during the day since they tend be nocturnal. Can be a sign that they are harboring disease.

In any event, he did not survive the encounter:

IMG_2058 copy.jpg

Before I knocked off for dinner, I got all the stuff on pallets I didn't want to get wet moved back inside.

Besides the gutter work Woman did manage to get a coat of straight BLO applied to one side of those three 2 x 8 x 14 boards. Probably move those inside the barn here in a little bit as I still have to go back over to move the scissor lift inside and turn off the lights.

Calling for rain tomorrow starting in the morning.

Big rebate check came in the mail today, so likely be a trip to Menards tomorrow to pick up the 2 x 4's for the ceiling joists.

That's assuming I can get their website to work - it will load the home page, but trying to navigate to any product it just stalls and hangs.

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday ... (y)

Remaining 3 lights rehabbed. Glad to have that project done. My friend, Lenny, s big help saving me countless trips up and down scaffold/ladder.

Next up is to install my 2nd Starlink dish on 10 ft mast at Cottage. Have it pretty well scoped out, thinking I can have mast extend about 6 ft above roofline and still be very stable. Wasn’t able to get obstruction scan in exact location, but close enough to be ok, with the actual spot abit better.

Ron's Back! Ron's Back! Ron's Back!

One last thing to do before bed, check TBN and Ron's back!

Ron...you don't know how much you had me worried. I actually thought we may have lost you on this good earth. Thanks for updating us. Sorry about your arm, happy belated b-day. Sorry about your sad 60th, she was a special lady (and beautiful)!
PS, I love your pictures but don't feel like you're neglecting us if you don't post any pics. (I still have the one of your neighbor's flower garden as my wallpaper).

Lots has happened, but glad you're back my friend.

Now Roy, I wouldn't mind it if you changed your avatar photo with your new hat...

Time for bed. Prayers for all in need.

Good evening. Sad day today. FIL died this morning. He was 92, and it was not unexpected. Fortunately, he died with little or no pain, and he had already said that he was ready for it. His family members were around him when it happened, so we can take heart in the fact that he had a “good death“.

He lived independently right up until the time he had to go into the hospital a few days ago. That was also in line with his wishes. The last thing he wanted to do was to be stuck in some sort of complex care facility on all kinds of machines and what not, instead of his own private little one bedroom suite at the retirement residence.

Rest in peace, Ray.

When I went to the horse lot last night it look like the storm dumped about 2" of rain and the dust was gone. :)

Sorry for your loss, Check. RIP

good morning all
up early, wow it's warm out, 61 out now going up to 68 in fog.

sorry for loss of family Check. I'd sure like to make it to 92 with my marbles and health intact.

it's tulip day for me, have about 80 bulbs to plant.
this is when I go to plant them, forget what else is "under there" and find myself digging up some other bulb.
Delicious deer food. At least using a cordless drill and planting auger makes planting easy to do, and ground is sure wet out there now.

really like my Lavazza coffee in the morning, but wish they didn't grind it so fine. Clogs up the coffee maker and makes a mess to clean out.
But still good...
I buy what's on sale. That used to be six bucks a pound. Now decent coffee starts at 9 dollars a pound.
I could get all I want free from my friends who own a coffee business, but that would get me an award for being a coffee mooch.
Granted they get lots of free samples.

Coffee is brewing. 57° with rain this morning. Heading to 59° with continued rain and wind. Leaves are falling very fast off trees. Trak-vac would not start. Wire connector broke off on/off switch. In between rain drops will blow leaves away from buildings. Getting ready for pickup with Trak-Vac.
Yesterday mornings sunrise had great color.

Thanks everyone for the Welcome Backs.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

58 and fog, going to 69 and cloudy. Won't get a sunrise like Ron's, but maybe a sunset today.

Check, sorry about your wife's dad.

When I had our well pump replaced this summer, bought their 1 year maintenance contract to get a discount on the pump, and ended up saving money. Part of that deal includes a free inspection. So had the plumber come in at 8:30 yesterday morning. Very thorough check of all plumbing inside and under the house. Since he was here, asked him to price swapping out a hose bibb...the old one leaked when running, and I had exhausted my ability to find parts for it (a brand he had never heard of, either...and it wouldn't take the standard Woodford parts). I had already replaced one that was easy to crawl to, but this one was in a very tight area, and he was up for it. I already had a Sharkbite so install went fast, and no more leak.
