This was the type of tractors that I worked on when started as mechanic. It was single cylinder, two stroke diesel and was started by hand. Engine could run in both directions depending on how you crank it.

Just got in from the barn loading feed bins and throwing some hay bales down from the loft. Put away the tools from yesterday’s adventures and smacked my hand on a shelf throwing extension cords on it.
I have no real complaints about my physical condition or aging, but I sure wish that my hands were as tough as they once were. When I look at them after almost any project, it seems like I managed to draw blood. Looking at them now, they look like the hands of an old man, but they still get a lot done!

Seems to take longer to heal cuts bruise the older we get.

21F cloudy mid teens over night.

Kittens made out very well with their new toys,but they had more fun playing with wrapping paper and bows.
Nice quite day with afternoon dinner,now feet up sharing bowl ice cream little later.

I learned to fix a connecting rod bearing with too much clearance in the field. These tractors are simple machines and access was by removing cast iron cover plate. Then take off the end cap and file it down to make it tighter on the crank. Then blue it and scrape high spots until perfect. Bearings were cast in place type and not replaceable like todays bearings. Two hours later the farmer was back plowing

The one I showed was recommended by my dermatologist to make the skin tougher. There are different varieties of the Cerave cream for moisturizing etc
