Good afternoon,

35° now, lows in the mid to upper 20’s tonight. It’s been snowing since last night, about 5” on the ground now. Judging by the snow sliding off the roof it’s getting wet and heavy. Should be over by 9:00 or 10:00 tonight, deal with it in the morning.

Sort of a do nothing day but did manage to gather all the tax stuff together and should get off my butt and get that filed this week.

Happy birthday to Mrs m7040

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone
Those dealing with the storms across the country stay safe

Had an interesting event last night at home, the kitchen door apparently wasn't well latched and blew open during the night.
So it was allowing 13F air and a bit of snow to blow into the kitchen till about 6 AM this morning. Still a bit chilly here now.
Now that's another way of getting cold feet. ;)

Evening plans...slow and steady.

Enjoy your evening all.

There are no healthy oils. They are the fat calories processed out of whole foods and just the oils have very reduced nutritional value and raises the bad cholesterol - LDL. I thought everyone knew this.

"Coconut oil proponents also try to argue that coconut oil has MCTs, medium-chain triglycerides, which are shorter-chain saturated fats that aren’t as bad as the longer-chain saturated fats in meat and dairy. You can’t apply the MCT research to coconut oil, though. Why not? Well, MCT oil is composed of MCTs—about 50 percent of the medium-chain fat caprylic acid and the other 50 percent of the MCT capric acid—whereas those MCTs make up only about 10 percent of coconut oil. Most of coconut oil is the cholesterol-raising, longer-chain saturated fats, lauric and myristic. “It is therefore inaccurate to consider coconut oil to contain either predominantly medium-chain fatty acids or predominantly medium-chain triglycerides. Thus, the evidence on medium-chain triglycerides cannot be extrapolated to coconut oil.”

It’s actually quite “a common misconception” that the saturated fat in coconut oil is comprised of mainly MCTs. Actually, as we discussed, coconut oil is mainly lauric and myristic, both of which have potent bad LDL cholesterol-raising effects. “Coconut oil should therefore not be advised for people who should or want to reduce their risk of CHD,” coronary heart disease, which is the number-one killer of U.S. men and women. The beef industry, for example, loves to argue that beef fat contains stearic acid, a type of saturated fat that doesn’t raise cholesterol. Yes, but it also has palmitic and myristic acids that, like lauric acid, do raise cholesterol, as you can see at 5:12 in my video."

ultimately everything is bad for you, hence the quotes around “healthy”. My point was that (now that I think of it it was closer to) 30 years ago the tv was equating coconut oil to injecting latex caulk into your veins, and now it is touted as an amazingly healthy product.

I like coconut oil for popping corn and cleaning firearms, personally. . .

And it is great that the merits and shortfalls of coconut oil can be a subject of chat.
👍

I am always curious about who funds the research, sometimes it is hidden. Here's some tidbits from my "trusted" source (probably funded by the coffee industry 😁 )...

Here is more than you might have ever wanted to know about coffee...

"science is particularly interested in chlorogenic acids -- not a single compound, but a family of them. They are present in coffee in far higher concentrations than any other food product, and they exhibit powerful free-radical scavenging, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and even neuroprotective effects. ...the darker the roast, the less chlorogenic acids you have

Naturally occurring acids in coffee, whose ratios are ever-changing during the roasting process, can have a dramatic influence on flavor... Sparkling acidity comes from phosphoric acid, for instance, while citrus notes come to fore with greater concentrations of citric acid"

Years ago, the prestigious scientific journal Nature received an application for a paper that promised a comprehensive list of all products appropriately labeled “chemical-free.”

It was blank. Tongues planted firmly in cheek. But the editors were so amused they made the "study" publically available on their site.
Despite what marketers around the world may want you to believe, the world is made up of chemicals, and even your favorite all-natural products -- such as coffee -- are full of em. Interestingly, many of the chemicals in coffee can be found all across nature: in what you eat, drink, and even in the air you breathe. It is believed that over 1000 unique compounds are responsible for the aroma of coffee.

Here’s a little peek at the “ingredients list” for your typical roasted coffee bean"

This is why I don't add cream or sugar to my coffee😁 ...

Honey is the BEST thing to put in coffee if you can eat the sweet stuff. It is healthier than refined sugar. Slower releasing and tastier. Try orange blossom or sage honey flavors. Just mix a spoonful in - yummmmmmmmmmmmm Get some local raw honey... color me jealous
Several years back, I was on a camping trip with friends, and friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends. . . Anywho, one of the people who showed up had a Maple operation in New Hampshire and brought (among other things) a sack of maple sugar. UNBELIEVABLE AWEOME in coffee, and a little was enough.

we drip some local raw honey in our coffee daily😁

Thank you for all the wishes to wife for birthday today. We very much appreciate that. We had a great day driving south towards WV and stopping for an ice cream. Now we are relaxing with a Riesling wine that reminds us of Germany. Wife's family have a medical clinic near Mannheim Germany that is near Heidelberg. Prior visits we had several varieties of Rieslings that were great. Daughter and other kids are visiting us tomorrow.

1) CNN.

2) Any discussion of increasing incidence of heart/circulatory conditions is perfectly fine except for one particular potential cause. Which is why there has been a spate of so many other reports of potential heart/circulatory -conditions causes including (but not limited to):

-video gaming
-turning your head too quickly
-“Climate Change”
-watching your home team playing in the playoffs/championships
-eating “unhealthy” foods
-eating “healthy” foods
-exercising
-not exercising

and so on.

so many things, but definitely “not that one thing“ are all in contention for rising heart/circulatory issues.

25 years ago, coconut oil was the worst thing you could put in your body, yet now it is one of the “healthy oils”.

”Experts” are experting themselves out of any remaining credibility.

do your own research and take anything that is parroted in unison across competing outlets with a major grain of salt (which is also not as bad as they claim as long as you are judicious in your consumption).
I totally agree Mate... whenever an announcement says "linked to" I interpret that as "we're not sure but our one, uncorroborated, study indicates that it might be so we're covering our arse".

Good early (Wednesday) arvo. Overnight Low of 11C and it's presently 25.1C, fairly clear and mostly calm.

I've already been into town for mail, coffee with the Veterans and completed my weekly grocery shopping (Senior Discount day).

I'll most likely chain-harrow & Z-turn mulch Paddock #6 later on.

That's about it, take care all.

Wagtail, our crown princess of Denmark (Mary) is from Tasmania as you probably know already. She is very well respected and loved. She represents Tasmania really well. Australia is an amazing country with such a variety of landscapes. Our daughter went there several times visiting Barrier reef, Indigenous people, Melbourne and also stopped in Alice. She said Alice was very hot. I worked on a copper mine project back in the day near Perth

Did get a service appointment with Comcast for tomorrow morning. Grocery shopping today. Then see what shows up for rest of the day.
Everyone stay safe and well.

wondering if there is an adequate way to fix this. Both left and right rv rear fender flares have cracks in them I'm guessing
from overtightening and poor design. Each piece is about 200 bucks to replace and unlikely it comes in right color.
I was thinking if I had time on my hands at some stop, I'd unscrew the item and use some superglue.
Am surprised pieces haven't fallen off already.
Another really good product is MarineTex Epoxy, and a little square of fiberglass laid over and embedded enhances the effect.

messy stuff - be forewarned. It takes about two weeks to come off your skin. . .
