Yeah, that is a weird thing with the letter jumping - it is not a bad as the old one but it still happens.
doggie depression is bad, since yesterday was a spectacular Blue Dome 70F+ day, and we had chiropractor appointments after work. . . Today she will get her day out before the next three days of rain move in (just in time to make everything muddy for the weekend).

I like your term “allygallyitis” for its Seussian sound - I just don’t like that it is the only way to allude to something. . .

35 going to 62. First day of March...first day of spring according to my wife...I'm still hoping for a 10 inch snow, and don't declare it's spring until I get all my winter chores finished. 😁

Hope your knee feels better, Mostly.

Don, will those trees recover? If not, wonder why they didn't remove them while in port? Wife likes your garden soil.

Looks like record high inflation is still with us, after a trip yesterday to the grocery store and then to TSC. Gly was $100 a jug. Decided to wait until I go by Agri-Supply next month. Picked up some sunflower seeds...$30, but had a coupon.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

yesterday was a picture-perfect Chamber of Commerce day, which we spent inside behind computer screens, and afterwards at chiropractor appointments. Forecast for the weekend is rain, of course.

Stars are out, crystal-clear 35.4F right now.

pup looking wistful - she hasn’t had a woodlot trip in several days and needs consolation from Mommie. . .

I am resisting the temptation to remove the plow and chains from the quad, because that would guarantee a blizzard out here🤣😂

When we went shopping for mom’s new computer, we stopped in the new Publix. Looked at hams in anticipation of Easter - a decent butt portion was $40! Last night we went to the local discount supermarket and got one for $16, which is still up significantly from the $11 last year.

Tomorrow I need to change the water filters, so I will also inspect the vent-sealing project and report back on that, as well as the condition of the peanut-butter-enhanced bait blocks.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

31 outside this AM. Heading to lower 60's, no rain.

Yesterday is a blur. Worked in the Milk House, last two wall outlets put in. Wired too. For that I needed to start deconstructing the outside wall. The "entrance" way is still encased in wood, which is all coming off for vinyl. When you see what has managed to get between the concrete on the inside and the wood on the outside, removing the outside is the right move. As luck would have it, a jig saw blade ended up on the inside of the wall, so I had to find another blade and not forget to recover that one. The shop vac got a pretty intense work out for a few hours. And I did not hit any studs when the outlet boxes went in! Amazing since nothing is on center on this building.

I still have a few pipes, nice steel?, lead? ones in the attic to remove. And I need to figure out how to get the shop vac up into that space. The pipes may have to be cut since they run the length of the building and one goes to the barn, that's over 40 feet. I was hoping to slide them out with the wood siding removed, once I get to that.

Not much else going on. Things are greening up, budding and blossoming. Much too early, but I don't run the show.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. Get or stay healthy.

I'd like to visit Auz one day, only one of two continents I have not set foot on. Daughter relocated there for a while, did some studies there, unfortunate, the alligator thingy changed her plans.

Good morning! A warm 70˚F before sunrise, heading to the mid 80s cloudy day southerly breeze.

Wngsprd, the deck trees are coming out at the bottom but it will take years before they get that tall with leaves. I did not ask them why they have not been replaced but I noticed they do have a tight schedule. They arrive in Galveston on Sunday mornings 6am serve breakfast unload 5,000 people and luggage, unload waste, load up with fuel and food and load 5000 more people and luggage, serve lunch and leave at 4pm. The facial recognition system they have in the new terminal really speeds up exiting the ship which allows you to skip filling out forms and talking to customs.

Car is back in service with a refill of A/C refrigerant, oil change and inspection. The dealer could not look at it till March 23 because they are so backed up and short staffed so I took it to a local shop. No leak was found but they put the dye in and will not charge to refill if it leaks out in the next two years. One of 11 items crossed off my list. Today hope to get mom's taxes crossed off.

Good morning, nice day 33 going to 58.

Kids coming out today to celebrate wife birthday (day after).

Rip, where did your daughter relocate to in Aus?
Buppies, a lot of people have German connections in the USA.

Agenda today is to make wife comfortable

Mostly, sorry to hear about your knee pains.

Good Morning!!!! 37F @ 4:15AM. Partly cloudy. High near 55F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Almost another quarter inch of rain fell yesterday, with an overdose of wind to go along with it.

Glad you're enjoying the warmer temps, Buppies, Have a safe trip home.

Finally got word that the roof tile samples are in, so I went up on the roof yesterday and took down a loose tile to compare against the sample when I go into town tomorrow. Oddly, the part of the used tile that's covered by the one above it is lighter than the rest, when I'd have expected just the opposite.

Reviewed a couple more house listings, but none of them either had a shop or enough room to build one. But several new listings are popping up every day, so at least that's encouraging. Several price cuts, too, but from what I'm seeing, sellers are way optimistic on the value of their properties. The place I virtually toured this past weekend hasn't gone pending yet, and I'd have expected it to after the selling realtor told us they had two offers in hand. In the mean time, I'm seeing much nicer homes in the same price range, but nothing that rings the right bells.

Sent a Custom Build form off to the local Ford dealer for a Transit van yesterday morning, and am not surprised to see no response yet. I guess business must be good, as they don't seem to need mine.

I'm gonna use the rippers on a short section of the driveway today and see if I can get some dirt mixed in with the gravel so it'll stay in place better on the hill. That'll also fill in some of the rain ruts that have formed over the last couple of wet weeks. Then roll it all again. More seat time, really buzzy seat time, though.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Good Morning.
23 when I got up this morning.

Nice sunrise through the trees with a hard frost when I let Zoe out.

Yesterday I made good progress in the shop, started the next speaker before the last one is even finished.
Drove my friend to the Prius shop to pick up his car about an hour away, they rebuilt his battery and cleared all the associated codes and warning lights. He made it about 1000 feet from the shop before the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, so we went back. They will sort it out today.
They seem like a good shop, very well equipped to maintain Prius’. They have a computerized battery analyzer / balancer, motor generator tester, even the ability to run the electric AC compressors and test them on the bench, which is interesting because they are 206v 3 phase AC driven by a VFD in the ECU to vary the capacity.
So we chalked it up to “stuff happens” not incompetence, and headed off to Mission BBQ for some Brisket.
Be interesting to see what the issue was. At the end of the day it will be a great car for him, he bought it from an estate very inexpensively, as it was 18 years old, was parked for the last six years and didn’t run. But it only had 27k on the odometer and was parked inside, it’s very clean.

Today will be back in the shop, maybe a trip back to Philadelphia to pick up the Prius.

Morning, was 28 and icy, but going up to 51 and sunny.
Got our tickets to the Washingtons Crossing brewfest in May, we go every year with a bunch of friends.
Nice to sample beers on the river and then we all chip in for the rides home via friend who does not drink. Last year was deep mud, hope it's a bit drier this year.

Son has concert this Saturday with one of the bands and looks like in a few months the other band is playing in NYC at Bitter End club. Seems like it will be a lot of driving for us, but should be fun.

We are going to see Springsteen in a few months, son wanted to go, not my favorite, but since we would have to drive him there anyway...

Snow forecast for end of week is now 1" of rain. We shall see how many times that changes.

Friends sent pictures of snow by LA mountains. Last time they had that much snow was when I was out there in the late 80's.
Seeing people complain about Donner pass being snowed in is priceless, how do they think the Donner party get held up in the mountains in the first place. That pass gets heavy snow every few years. Hopefully no one got eaten this year as it seems they forgot to close the road and a bunch of people tried to drive through...

Be well,

Rip, where did your daughter relocate to in Aus?
...
She studied at Curtin University in Perth.
Then trekked to Melbourne, some time in Sidney (bridge walked) and ended up in Brisbane. She was all settled in, then Covid hit.
We got her out with no assistance from the State Department. Auz was on strict travel lockdown and the job market for expats dried up pretty quickly. She abandoned her plans for citizenship upon returning to the US.

Interesting journey. What made her decide to go to Aus and pursue citizenship? It is always interesting to find out what motivates people to move and study elsewhere

Be well,
I first visited Donner pass right about 1980. We were taking in the visitor center when I said to her it's snowing now, lets get out of this creepy place before we get stuck here.
Down the road we headed on the snowy highway in the increasing snowstorm. California drivers littered the road side ditches. Our VW just chugged down the center of the road.

44º this am and blowing rain. 46º the high. Last day of this storm. We will get a manageable 1" or so. 3" in the foothills = 3 ft of snow. People in the local mountains are trapped. There is nothing going in or out for days and days now.

Waiting for warmer clear weather. Equipment mechanic scheduled for Friday am. Project Forklift axle seals, brake cleaning, and adjusting. A follow up to the master cylinder replacement last week. Nice to find a qualified local mobile mechanic. Thank you Tractor Tech in so Cal.

Hard to say, she is a world traveler. Mother Nature had a lot to do with it. That land is phenomenally different.

Good morning! Low of 19°, heading up to near 50°. Windy again today. Yesterday was not as bad as the weekend, wind wise.... only had a few 45mph gusts. Today should even be a little less, 35mph gusts. Rain / snow showers tonight and tomorrow morning.

Mostly, sorry to hear about the knees. Hopefully can be headed off and reduce the inflammation associated with arthritis. Surprisingly, I have very little, almost no arthritis in the knees..... even with whatever is going on in my "uncooperative" knee. Shoulders, yes.... knees, no.....

Drew, good luck with the RV repairs today. More luck for the school board meeting....

Buppies, nice to hear you had a good trip. Beach time is always good!

Don, I am surprised that those trees died. Is it open air above or an 'indoor atrium'?

Scootr, hope you don't get too cold.... do you guys have coats out there in Cali? .... or just shorts and t-shirts? ......Kinda like David.... he has steel toed work flip-flops....

More piddling will occur today, knee is complaining already this morning. Not surprised at that, last night it "popped" in 3 different areas, all at once. Like a tendon popping. Didn't cause any pain initially, actually felt a little better afterwards..... for a short time anyway.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hee he. I know natives who reach for a jacket at 65º - Me I'm hearty, 60º is cold to me. I have insulated Walls coveralls for days like today when it is 45º lol
It's the heat and my age, your blood thins.
