Would like to get rest of area mowed from yesterday, only about half done, but rain would shut that down in a hurry.

Might have to find a more appropriate inside activity if weathered out.

Long Weekend but was great for all the kids showing pigs. The young lady that won the grand champion was from Indiana...This was 6 shows in 5 weekends, with points moving with each show and only 5 shows counting...They drove 12 hours one way 5 times.. The pigs she showed were great and she was also..

after 7 hours of driving, finally pulled into Goose Creek Park in Washington NC. Brand new rv campground, public, huge sites, but oh boy when I pulled in all I saw was smoke, lots of smoke. Big sign saying burning in progress. Visions of that smoke getting into rv.... but thankfully was far enough away. The whole place was burned, intentionally, I'll take more pics tomorrow.

wonderful dinner out at Thai restaurant in Front Royal VA last night.
Good food, not expensive, and after one large party left, we were only ones in there. Thai waitress had time, so she sat down at a piano and starting playing the most amazing classical music. I looked at my brother and his wife and our three jaws dropped. This little lady was talented and the music was wonderful. What fun.

gosh it was cold last night and this morning, 23 at campground, thank goodness I had an electric heated mattress pad. When I pulled into the campground I asked if they had propane, and they did. So this 95 yo security guard came over and filled up the rv, so the heat was on last night. Have no idea how much I burned but didn't care. My two little electric heaters just weren't cutting it.

The campground in VA was pretty rustic, tight site, almost hit a tree coming in. Well....what a difference here, it may be new and unfinished but all the rvs are new, most big trailers pulled by shiny trucks.

Now that I have water hooked up, am going to take a long hot shower tonight. Local friends coming over, my old next door neighbors, with their six year old son who is a good buddy of mine. They are bringing pizza and should be fun.

internet is iffy here again, but so far works. This campground is out of town down by the river, probably no tower nearby.
Tomorrow is a sleep in morning, friends coming to take me to lunch.
will be nice to get up and not rush off.

Helloooo Ms. Spring 44F clear sky stiff breeze from the north mid 20's over night.

Long day at work...this afternoon decided to put 1/4" plate steel down on ground front shed door,wash put pickup plow on pallet until next winter.

Plans for the evening...I can't think of any.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 5C and it's presently 15.8C, overcast (maybe some rain tonight) and calm.

As things happen, I had no plans for today except to 'recover' from yesterday's vine-netting experience. (Pleasantly) Surprised that I feel fine with very little aches. So, of course, I've just received a call asking if I was willing to do a wooden fence repair at the back of the Rectory... so that's what I'll 'get up to' this arvo.

Some rain is expected tomorrow and we've got a new priest (and family) arriving in approximately 10 days. It definitely needs doing.

That's about it, take care all.

Good evening all. 35ºF for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. moderate to strong wind, very brisk gusts, sky became overcast, and high temp was 53ºF. Clean ashes and restart fire to start day. Putter while wife napped then to town for meds, groceries, toilet fill valve, and lunch. Ride after fire stoked, wind was rough. Short nap the dinner and evening with wife.
David good to hear you got some mowing done.
Bill good luck in your quest to go back to paper billing. I understand about can't the customer service reps to whom English is a second or third language. Have fun in the rabbit hole.
Ron glad birthday party was fun. Good to hear snow gone. Nice crane.
Kilroy the oil change may indicate why cap was so hard to remove. You might change the oil again soon as new oil may pick up some of the gook in the engine. Hope puppy prep coming along, as well as shed prep.
Billy hard to buck much firewood without needing to split at least some of it.
Mike sorry about the hard freeze. Glad you got some help gathering branches up.
