Looking, you were talking about getting your own diesel to transfer to your home heating oil tank. Idea for you look at the picture of my farm diesel tank located on a steel skid and tied down with chains and truck tie downs for the chains. That way I can pick it up with the forks on the tractor and put it on the trailer and go up to get off-road diesel a lot cheaper than delivered diesel. Around here those farm tanks come up on auction fairly often.

Ted, whim? LOL, only partially. My original planning was for the full 12 ft, but location of the support posts was dictated by the existing concrete and structure, less than 12 ft. I opted for smaller PV array, moving the top beam in. Also why array doesn’t extend to front requiring metal flashing. Figured the extra bracing wouldn’t hurt and made for interesting look at no cost.
Ahh, that 'splains it! It does look pretty cool.....

Slept in until 6:45 and it was WONDERFUL! Except that Harry Houdini Hound keep us up until almost 2AM you long in his crate, until Mrs finally had enough and took him on the couch with her…
And he went right to sleep.

Good to see Harry’s training of the Mrs is going well.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.5C and it's presently 16.6C, overcast and fairly calm. there was 1mm of rain in the gauge at 0900.

Looks like it's going to be a repeat of yesterday, today. That's fine.

The 'Mad Horse Woman' came over (with her horse) to do some work on my exercise area [I've told her that she can at any time] and we had a nice conversation... it turns out that I had neglected to tell her that I refer to her on TBN as the "Mad Horse Woman" :D . I explained why and that it's said with affection.(y)

I'm off to Ross for a meeting tomorrow morning, so I may be 'reporting in' later. Ross = Eccles Cakes! YAY!

That's about it, take care all.

Well, the guessers got it wrong..... max wind gust was about 25 mph. And there were only a couple of 'em. Just strong 'breezes', maybe 15-20 mph.

Took advantage and got all the gravel spread. Got 90% of what I wanted to cover, covered. I'll order another 28 tons tomorrow. The remaining area only needs about 5 tons, but the balance will recoat the rest of the parking area.

The guessers are still predicting the high winds / red flag warning for tomorrow, along with the 'extreme' fire risk. And, supposedly windy now for Saturday.

Maybe they guessed wrong.... not like that ever happens.

Not legal here. ANY auxiliary tank must be bolted to the bed. The law calls them 'slip tanks'.
Besides, I need to score the pickup, first.

We got up to 75 today. Found out the A/C in the Dodge needs recharging and the garage I deal with cannot do it. Well, my windows open and I've got 4 of them. 4/60 A/C.

Got woken up early by chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp …………..chirp chirp chirp.
So I turned over, till wife did her version that was more annoying than the smoke detector.
Change battery, still chirped, another battery, still chirped. All new batteries dated 2025 and good on the tongue test.
Now my detectors are AC powered, battery backup, all levels of house tied together.
So checked 1st floor, battery dead on the tongue test, so new battery. Still chirping upstairs.
So checked basement, battery dead on tongue test, still chirping upstairs.
Went to garage where I have a brand new detector like the upstairs one. Instructions say, after replacing battery, perform a test. Ok, tested upstairs unit.
Chirp coming from down the hall. Carbon monoxide detector chirping. New batteries, still chirping. Same thing happened last week to downstairs one. Apparently both have expired and needs replaced.

Drove to Ohio with trailer. Installed new washing machine shutoff valves for dad, loaded my old husqvarna mower on trailer. Dad had really beat it up, the front grill was bent sideways and was against tire. I had to beat it with sledge to get tire to turn.
How he did this, I can only guess he doesn’t know.
IMG_8761.JPG

Sitting outside, talking to dad when wife calls. Smoke detector chirping again. I had them get the new one from garage and swap. No more calls.

I probably shouldn’t, but showed dad where he dislodged a support post in the barn by hitting it with tractor bucket, last fall sometime. It’s only supporting end of a beam holding up the 2nd story where grain used to be stored.
IMG_8746.JPG

My next project is to get a post under this beam. I don’t think it’s in danger of falling, the rest of the building is holding things together.
But, that’s for another trip.

I showed dad pics of my VA lot and our Charleston trip. He’s been to Charleston, but first time I showed him pics of my lot. I need to get a short driveway in, probably in this spot
IMG_8435.JPG

Some old cedar limbs where I want drive. There’s a cedar tree just left of this opening I’d like to remove, but it’s right next to power lines, maybe power company will trim it, it needs it.
Couple more lot pics this is looking in from driveway opening. Most of the lot is the woods, I have not walked up there.

Good Evening,

Thank you for the prayers.

I now have an appointment with the Lawyer that was highly recommended to me - Mon May 1 in the afternoon. I need to figure out a way to cover the Retainer costs ($3500) before he can actually do anything though. Hoping that works out soon, it's been too long being uncertain of everything.

I'm busy with home office work, that's about it.

Thanks, Good Night.

Good early morning,

70°F now dropping to low 60’s later, high’s upper 70’s and sunny today, winds 5-15 mph.
The guessers missed a bit yesterday, low 80’s turned into a solid 90° day.
Between the temps and tree pollen I didn’t accomplish much outside yesterday. I did head to the barber but apparently so did everyone else in town lol, stuck my head in the door said howdy and went for an iced coffee. Some days the best laid plans…
Don’t know what today will bring to early to tell.

Enjoy your day everyone

Drinking first cup of coffee. 44° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 82° with plenty of sun. Grocery shopping went well. Got pole barn and animal barn cleaned up some and reorganized. Lots of room in both barns to get at equipment. Pulled some more rocks out of garden pond. Will pull some more out today. Then start hooking up water and filter system.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
very warm day, up to 88 today

am off with trailer to Pemberton NJ, near Ft Dix/McGuire AFB, to pick up Gravely garden tractor.

sure was nice being outside yesterday but my eyes itched and itched.
Getting to be where I need to change my morning shower to an evening shower just to get the pollen off me.
Even though I wear a hat, it seems to get everywhere and it's just starting...

always did a morning shower because wanted to be clean after communing on throne. But now with a bidet seat on my toilet,
that necessity is gone. If you haven't tried a bidet seat, I highly recommend it. It's a little weird but you get used to it.

am hoping a water heater part shows up today from dealer, the one that fried when I plugged in the rv without any water
in the tank. Not good. Not my error, he forgot to turn it off before sending me on my way, so he said no problem, I'll send the part.
And then, drum roll, I have an interesting list of rv to-do's for my favorite MacGyver. Heater element, new water intake, replace kitchen faucet.
And I have a new digital door lock I'd like installed on my house door, but not sure there's enough room.

5 years ago I would not have asked for help on any of this. Admit my confidence was rocked when I got sick three years ago, plus I seem to get frustrated
too easily. Perhaps it's my brain ossifying...
so I consider myself seriously lucky to have friends who are willing to help.

forsythia continues to blaze away, lots of color along with my yellow pansies

53 outside this AM, heading to upper 70's.

Managed to get the shopping run done for paint, supplies and most importantly beer and brats.

Started final coat of paint on Milk House, inside, also managed to plug holes around the bathroom entrance with concrete mix and parging. May need a skim coat on that, will see shortly. I had cut the concrete wall, but the sledge hammer took out a little bit more than it should have. The wall sat on the foundation there, was not part of it. Weird add on I guess.

Having issues with deliveries here. Seems two packages destine for someone else showed up here. Called manufacturer on one, nice lady said yep, bad address. Called UPS, they came and picked it up. Other package, called FedEx, twice, day three of package and it is still sitting here. Somewhere, someone is saying I did not get my product. Here I sit trying to get it back to whomever and FedEx is dropping the ball.

Managed to get mower started. LOL. New air filter, new gas, shot it with starter fluid, one pull and away I went. Checked new mower prices while at store. Not going electric, not buying new mower either. Ouch. Wife wants to do lawn and needs instant on and go. Cannot pull to start, back issues. I told her as long as I am able, it will be me, the mower and the weed whacker. She can stick to her tractor and the a/c.

Accountant called, looks like I will be adding to the kitty twice as much than expected, Ouch, Such is life.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe, to those in need, kind thoughts your way.

Good morning, the low is 44 and going to a high of 63°F. Wind ENE 14 gusting to 20 mph. Sunny!

The township ditch and culvert needs cleaning out today. The East side has barely any water running out and the west side is 3/4 full. I will make a place for the water to run on the east side, then poke around a bit on the west side. I don't have any sheep boots so I wont be going into the water.

Went to the hydraulic shop yesterday and scored two 'T's with the 2 female quick connects and 1 male quick connect each. $167.oo for the pair. A heck of a lot cheaper than the $1500.oo that was quoted to me for a rear remote line. I will get them teflon taped up today and installed.

I just need to find my get up and go. It seems to have got up and left.

I wonder if the Cardinal staring at its' reflection thinks that is another male coming into his neck of the woods.

Have a safe day all

Good to see Harry’s training of the Mrs is going well.
Well. . . for varying values of “well”. . .

we have a Zoom Call interview with a Doggie Boarding Boot Camp at 1100. Redbones are known for being strong-willed, but he is not getting with the program, and our senior dog is terrorized by him, and when we try to correct him, Bailey (who is a two time rescue, previous people should not be in the same zip code with dogs!) seems to have PTSD and we don’t want her further traumatized.

So he will be heading off for some professional education.

if it wasn’t so far and inconvenient spat this time, we would send him off to the monastery in NY and let the monks have an”Come To Jesus” session with him!
