Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.3C and it's presently 11.8C, partly cloudy, calm and there was 0.7mm in the gauge @ 0900.

It's 'into town day' for mail and groceries. I'm contemplating doing a wee bit of tree limb trimming... the downside to that is that I may not know when to stop. :) When I've got a 'limbing' tool in my hand (secateur, sawzall, chainsaw) I always seem to spot "just one more" branch.

That's about it, take care all.

very fun parade this morning in cedarville MI.
my internet is so slow here hard to post pics, but took lots with good camera and will post when I can.
my favorite local color was the group of employees of the local (only) supermarket, all pushing grocery carts.
big emphasis on fire company snow cats, some interesting equipment shown. It's different here, the whole lake outside the town freezes up solid in winter

Mostly an energy conservation day. Last day of a 4 day weekend. I needed it - I enjoyed.
Cleaned the gutters and mowed the front yard. Played in the welding shop. Made a hammer wrench for the tractor tool box.
I noticed I have clocked 100 hours on the MX5200 I bought last August. Still love it.

70F and clear @ 22:00, headed down to around 65F for the overnight low.

High temp hit 87.6F here today, felt pretty oppressive with the high humidity.

Got meds doled out first thing.

Collected up plastic bags and paper/cardboard for recycling and loaded those in the car.

Worked on one set of the Craftsman dual flood lights, replaced both bulbs ... looks like switch is bad on one side. Did a little research on new switch for that.

Then topped off gear oil in front axle and hydraulic fluid in Kubota.

Did some box blade and loader work on flower bed on west side of the frog pond, blocked off a couple of burrow entrances. Was pretty wet. Should be drier tomorrow. Did not get to deploy smoke bomb.

Swapped out bucket for forks and moved pallet with 4 bags of salt around back. Got that moved back into the utility room next to the softener.

Also moved all the rolls of insulation back into the utility room.

Moved springs from the old mattress while I had forks on.

Unrolled lawn edging and weighted it down so it would lose the curl.

Woman cooked up some spicy sausage for lunch.

Took Stihl pole saw over and trimmed a couple of low-ish branches on the large maple tree over the hosta bed on the northeast side. Still required full extension (11 1/2') to reach them so it was a bit of a workout. Did some additional trimming on a couple other maples as well:

IMG_2815 copy.jpg

Two loads of branches taken up to the brush pile:

IMG_2814 copy.jpg

Jiggered a couple of pallets of firewood around on the way back.

Woman worked on raking and gathering up the old leaves on the bed while I was trimming. Two dump cart loads and two bucket loads of leaves taken up and added to the compost pile.

Screened a few more bucketloads of compost while I was up there. Screen now full, needs unloaded.

Sprayed some the weeds in the beds where I was trimming branches with glyphosate, also edge of east bed. Need to mix up more weed juice.

Woman grilled some Hebrew Nationals and heated up some Bush's Baked Beans for dinner.

Collected up tools and brought them back to the house after dinner.

Then took trash up to the can at the road and set it out for pick up tomorrow.

Woman went around back and sprayed cabbage plants with Neem oil while I was doing that.

Got one more Japanese beetle trap hung on the Redbud tree on the east side.

Watched 4th Celebration in DC.

Hope everyone had a good 4th ... (y)

Great gathering , 48 if my count is good. Tons and tons of great food which I saw more than ate. 🤙 Had to set up extra table for desserts. Best part was the camaraderie. 3 years since last 4th gathering. But boy, I am whupped.

68 outside this AM. Hard to believe that. Been a long while since it was that cool. Heading up to 90 later and yes, the humid air is returning. Rain on tap for the next six days. The Hit or Miss type t-Storms.

Got lots of yard work on the agenda today. And a plumber coming by, hope for a good $$$ estimate on the Milk House. Was doing some minor work on it yesterday, actually turned the a/c on for the first time. LOL. It was like, well a Milk House. LOL. Nice and cool, then after a while...cold. LOL. Mr. Cool did the job. I need to return to the attic. I forgot to vent the bathroom exhaust in my zest to complete the suffit. I even left the vent right where I could walk by it and see it as a reminder. Too many things going on I guess. I can use the bathroom is not finished playing card for that one.

Hope all have a great day. Short work week for some. Enjoy.

Pills worked reasonably well. She wasn’t happy, but she wasn’t a quivering mass of nerves! It also helped that late rain put a damper on freelance fireworks, plus druggies didn’t shoot any off . . .

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

68.0F going to mid 80s, intermittent T-storms all day.

We will be heading up to woodlot without dogs, just to do a spot check and “wave the flag”, maybe harvest some choy leaves for stir-fry dinner tonight. This will include a trip to the dumpsters with the trash bags.

ai ordered up some electric fence gate handles and corner insulators and some sundries from Jeffers - I have found that they Are cheaper than TS and have stuff in stock consistently.

Weather will dictate the rest of the day’s activities — probably going to be a lot of making sure the couch doesn’t float off…

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Have good day all.

Good Morning
It’s already 81 heading into the 90’s today. No rain forecast.

Yesterday was hot as well, we did dodge a few passing showers, but it was a good day, mostly by the pool with all the kids and their friends.

Brisket came out after 18 hours in the smoker, was quite tasty.

We flew RC a bit in the morning, but other than that, just coasted through the day.

Today at 4 going to look at a used Transit Connect cargo van for wife to take to farmers markets. A neighbor want to go for a plane ride, so might take the little plane out this morning as well. Grass is looking like it needs to be mowed as well, maybe tomorrow.
Son just showed up to fly his RC plane with my grandson, so I’m gonna head out.

/ Good morning!!!! #172,779
BTW
Does anyone know anything about Transit Connect vans?
I don’t. This one is a 2010 with 129k
Looks clean and is reasonably priced.

Morning all, 75 going up to 91 and the sun is out for a wonderfully humid day.
Last night went to neighbors for fireworks, had to leave early to pick up son, but they must have spent a fortune on the bigger ones. Their mini-ponies were out and about till the fireworks and then disappeared into their stable.

Tests came back from Dr and nothing found, so it may be the medicine that works for one thing , but is really affecting my life, so will be off it for a while and see if things improve.

Had some rolling storms come through, bits of rain here/there, but no real accumulation.

Mostly - sorry about scooter, 14 years is a long time.

Back to work tomorrow,

Be well,

Fearless rabbit just watched the dog and I this morning.
