Good morning!!!!

Good morning, 82 already going to 89 thunder storms in the fc this afternoon

Mowing grass is needed again. More wood stacking the daily routine now is in the plan as well. Separating out oversized pieces for splitting

Almost missed the trash pick up this morning because they came early due to no pickup yesterday

Picking up groceries and meds today as well

Kyle thanks for looking for the pressure washer pump. I took a chance on a used housing that should be delivered later this week and will then rebuild it. If it does not work out will likely get an AR Blue unit. Ordered a hand arm jack to use when lifting is needed and spare the rotor cuff injury. Got to work smarter

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 8:15AM, still in Lompoc, CA.
Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High around 70F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Started yesterday with what was supposed to be a quick look at the backyard shed, then maybe off for a hike. Ended up cleaning up all the debris from the shed floor, then removing enough of the sand (what passes for dirt in these parts) to get something of a consistent grade to lay concrete pavers that were stacked on the other side of the yard. Not my best job of grading, but good enough. Also laid more pavers vertically along the interior walls, one end buried in the ground, in hopes of keeping ground squirrels out.

All this wile the neighbors and their kids were in their back yard, screaming and yelling at each other over a loud stereo playing something that remotely resembled music. After too long of that, we had the floor done and retreated to the front yard for the evening. Cooked up a few chicken breasts with new potatoes in foil on top, more good eats.

The later we stayed outside, the more frequent the fireworks were from the rest of the neighborhood, scaring the cats and dog inside. The dog was particularly upset, panting and shaking in spite of a small dose of benedryl. By the time 10PM rolled around, it sounded like WWIII out there, and all any of us wanted to do was go to sleep. At maybe 11 PM the sky lit up like daylight and it sounded like an invasion that shook the windows for several minutes. All this in a place where all but "safe and sane" fireworks are prohibited. I drifted off to sleep at around midnight, but my buddy said the booms continued until the wee hours. No wonder they are banned, and too bad there were insufficient police staff to enforce it.

Need to make some measurements on the shed to get a sketch made for the roof, and a bill of materials to make sure there's enough wood and steel to get it done. Likely there will be lots left over. Then maybe wash the van with the new pressure washer, and get a coat of wax on it. Maybe.

Hope everyone's short work week gets off to a good start.

68°F and .04 inches rain.

Definitely a recovery day, mostly putting stuff away, tables and chairs, some foods into the freezer. Thanks to good friends, most things disassembled last night and centrally located.

Have to go to town SS we have appointments for new military ID cards.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

88F and partly cloudy @ 13:30, HI 89, DP 62F, HU42%, AQI 67. Calling for an actual high of 89F for the day.

More heat and a 60% chance of afternoon thunderstorms tomorrow, then a cool down to more tolerable temps.

Woman has a dental appointment this afternoon.

I need to mow, hopefully the Cub has enough gas in it to get that done. Probably should check it before She heads out.

Beyond that, will water plants and maybe refill the bird feeders.

Otherwise probably find something to do inside where it's cool.

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday ... (y)

92°
I did get trailer hooked up and brought to front of barn to check brakes. Verified trailer has good ground, and the brake controller gets variable voltage output as I apply brakes, but no brakes as I apply brake controller. Either need adjusted or problem with the electric brakes. Got too hot to work in the sun, so came in, showered, sitting in AC with Pebbles on me.

ID appointment rescheduled, clerk tested Positive C19.

Otherwise now a slow day, most of the party stuff put away. Still have to find room in freezer for left over food, short ribs, chicken, tritip, corn on corn, homemade bread, etc, I’ll be eating well

I’m forecasting an afternoon of energy conservation.

Front yard all mowed, was hot in the sun but tolerable while moving.

Checked mealworm feeder, it was empty.

Came in at 15:13 to check on Woman (Her dental appointment was at 15:30) thought maybe She had fallen and couldn’t get up. Started car and AC to cool it off and got Her out the door.

Refilled hopper feeder after mowing the front. Still need to refill mealworm and tube feeders.

Japanese beetle trap out front looks to be half full already.

Cooling off for a bit.

Hope everyone had a nice 4th.
Neighbors here started setting off fireworks so I remembered I had some in the garage from years ago and thought may as well set them off. One was this cardboard tube you drop these color fused things in. We went out on the porch and I'm in my underwear.
I lit it without reading directions and held it up high. First "BOOM!" and it blew the bottom out. That's when I thought it probably should be on the ground. After quickly setting it down I realized not a good idea setting fireworks off in your underwear...I mean while WEARING underwear.
It was right spectacular and hopefully my beard and other hair will grow back.

Good early (Thursday) arvo. Overnight Low of 3.6C and it's presently 17.4C (2 above the predicted). Mostly sunny and fairly calm.

I was, indeed, able to restrain myself WRT limb-trimming yesterday... mostly because I limited myself to long-handled secateurs, so I only lopped what I could reach. Anything more will require my Makita pole saw; something for the future.

That's about it, take care all.
