Buppies- I hope and pray that you continue to mend.

Drew- Thanks for the +’s. A very high percentage of Primary Care Givers suffer from PTSD. For a variety of reasons I can relate. On the good my Wife is pulling it together for going out to dinner tonight at an amazing Asian Fusion restaurant that We frequent often. And as to dogs onions and other plants from the allium family and all nuts excepting peanuts which are legumes.

Mike- I am glad that the NY trip was a success.

Another hazy, hot, and humid day with a chance for afternoon/evening popup showers and/or T-storms and more similar days on the way until next Wednesday when this horrible weather pattern breaks down for a couple of days before redeveloping again. I got some seat time on the rider this morning mowing around the house and my "photo props" for the fireflies. HHH weather is ideal for fireflies which appeared + 1 week late and at reduced #'s (so far) according to my photo records this year.

I am definitely enjoying all the pictures of projects, property, gardens, family, pet, plant and animal presented here as well as all the posted interactions with neighbors both + and -.

Thanks for the support posted or not. Aging in place with loved ones can become challenging for those involved.

Mowed along a fence line I do not mow often and found the neighbor has dumped rocks over the fence

That sure isn’t neighborly.

One of my lot neighbors put a row of rocks on edge of road, next to his yard because one of the other neighbors got over in his yard to avoid potholes. The road is a little narrow there so I’m thinking he is being a little picky. Road maintenance came up in our discussion. Everyone seems to be looking for someone else to do it.

Dad lost his cane from the tractor while bush hogging a couple days ago. It probably got mowed. They looked and couldn’t find it. Then yesterday he lost his glasses while mowing.
My BIL looked but couldn’t find either.
He has finished mowing except a little area below the pond that won’t take 20 minutes. I’ve been tracking his going out and coming in times from my camera, so far about 55 hours to mow everything, including what I did.

Now at 56 hrs, he was out an hour today.
He found his glasses, on back porch.

Well I am sort of done for today. Those stings I got this AM are kind of swollen, and it's too hot outside.

For those cat lovers, I think you can appreciate this Hot Cat:

I have a house full of endoskeleton Terminator types. Attitudes and weapons upgrades were standard issue.

LOL
Better than when I lost my iphone 12 while mowing. I did find some of the pieces, including the sim card, but it didn’t work.

Was talking to him, he has a system that translates phone call to text so he can read it since he can't hear well. So he says, I can't read what you're saying. I asked, do you have your glasses on? He says, No.... :)
same reason he can't normally hear, hearing aids aren't in...lol

Good afternoon, 92 no rain. Dry air so it does not feel too bad. Bet you mid west people would love this temp.

Drew, no fire but lots of clippings. Went over the largest piles a few times with the mower.Took a while but got it done. Also cleaned up a tree that had fallen over on our property. Lots of tough vines that were hard to rip up with the x
Ordered signs to hang on the fence. Will see how he reacts. What cams to get?

Next jacked up the mower and sharpened the blades. One blade was beat up from hitting neighbors rocks but not bent. After sharpening and balancing good to go again.
One of the grease nipples broke off on the spindle for the front wheel leaving a broken stub. Using a reverse tap to get it out and installed a new M6 grease nipple

Wife is feeling a little better so took her for a short drive in the neighborhood. Took a couple of pics close to us. Wife after spending time in nursing home with broken angle and replaced knee is thankful for being out of wheel chair and functioning around here. You have my sympathy for those of you dealing with memory/dementia etc

Pretty day. Got up to the low 90s this afternoon but there was a nice breeze. I mowed at the farm. I guess in some places the grass was up to 8 inches in a week. I was leaving clippings but there isn't too much I can do about it. I started mowing early. There was quite a bit of dew on the grass but it dried out by 11.

Neighbors can be unbelievable. I was reminded of one of my unbelievable neighbors today. He dumps grass clippings on the field. It kills what ever is trying to grow. I guess the farmer had had enough. He pushed all the piles off the field to the property line. I wonder if the guy will get the hint? It seems that people think farm fields are waste land waiting to be used.

Here is hoping your neighbors are not knuckleheads

Chris

I used to make spinal repair bone screws and hardware. We sure didn't get paid anywhere near that much for a set. Glad the surgery went well. Prayers for good healing to occur.

Best laid plans….
So got about half hour in with Sophie’s BX and the deck belt takes a powder. Not totally surprised and I have a replacement on hand. I believe the deck has to be unmounted so I figure I’ll just wait and do another day. I can finish up with my flail.

2nd lap and about as far from house as possible and my LS stalls. Restart and it is in limp mode, max 1400 rpm. No clue. Hmm, just had small earthquake. Took LS back tractorshed to exchange for Scag ZT, not my favorite mow machine.

And haven’t heard from CL guy supposed to be here between 12-1.

Earthquake was a 4.5, out in ocean NNE of us.
