Coffee is done brewing. 55° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with scattered thunderstorms. Change of plans yesterday. Decided to put weed killer on fence line. Tires of taking string trimmer around all the poles. 4 gallons of vegetation killer put down. Did it using the Mule this time. Also did drive and walkways. Not sure what I will do later today. Can always work on Chicken Coop.
Thought these were Snap Dragons growing wild in the field. But not sure.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly…).

62.2F going to low 80s, chance of afternoon t-storms.

yesterday was an early up-and-out, so we could get to Gatlinburg and find our favorite free parking spot on the street before anyone else got it. We were successful, which saved us $20 in paying for parking. We went to the Annual Bigfoot Convention, quite the interesting event.
Being as how we now live in Bigfoot country instead of urban decay, it would be a fun day.

this was the first time in a that we went to Gatlinburg “in-season” AND on a weekend (only once have we gone in-season before, and that was on a weekday), and we were reminded why we only go on weekdays in the off-season… what a madhouse!

Today after church will be the drive out to pick up Harry from boarding. We put him up with the trainer he went to back in May. We are going to book him into the second-level training program which will be in October.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

They never should have ended Shop Class — it should have been mandatory…
I was the only kid in the academic curriculum of our small high school that took shop all the way through senior year.
I really liked the teacher, started a love of working in wood. Wish I had learned more about metal back then.
Also wish I had taken Home Economics....did they call it that at your school? No boys took it, hope that has changed.

should be a really pretty day today. That lower humidity weather has worked its way South, should feel really nice today.
Have to do food shopping this morning, then home to wash the car. And likely pick more tomatoes.

the driveway scraper did not get as deep as it might have to rip out the grass in the center but I also didn't want the possibility of leaving a
swale of sorts I'd have to go rake. So I made a few passes, saw three or four inches of gravel bunching up in front, so it was leveling nicely.

I ordered a heavy duty rear sway bar for rv and some light duty front plastic/rubber jounce stoppers/springs. I'm hoping that will be enough, only thing left to do is add a steering stabilizer. Trying to reduce swaying and side to side motion. I added these parts to my first rv and what a difference so hope this will help. I'll know next time I'm on rt 81 with trucks going by. Was going to buy them from etrailer, but put the parts numbers into Amazon and saved fifteen percent. Installing the sway bar requires drilling a hole on each end for a bracket, so leaving that work up to the shop I've used before for tires.

62 going to 87. Feels great.

Sodamo, nice job on that camera system...didn't realize one could be done that well and for that price.

Bigfoot! Sounds like fun. Kil, seems like he/she gets around...saw something about one being spotted near here.

I must be doing something wrong. Took me over half a day to clean off my Zero turn and then do 350/400 hour maintenance tasks...seems like the lube part takes forever. Also, ran up against one zerk that just wouldn't take any. Of course, it's the hardest one to get to...under the motor and above the frame on the drive shaft. Backed the zero up on ramps, and was able to tap it, and then push it open and see a bit of grease ooze out...but nothing getting in. Had to quit for dinner time.

Took another swing at the hornets at dusk...I'm striking out. But I have a new plan for this evening.

Things didn't work out for going to the mountains today, but I'll get some local rocks under my feet.

Mark, you asked for a photo of the European hornet nest. It's inside this tree.

It has been fun watching them...always a guard at the hole...it sometimes challenges incoming hornets. When it gets hot, one or two will sit at the hole beating their wings to fan the inside.

Good morning! 78˚ heading to 100˚ again as it has been all week.
We have a new member to our household, Mom's 18 year old cat (pics later) not as pretty as buckeye's cat but a very easy, friendly, slow moving cat. We adopter him after mom died last week, it was a rough week but things are getting better. Mom wanted to stay in her house till she died and she was able to. She had a normal morning, fed the cat, had breakfast, regular good visit with the visiting nurse, waved at the Mailman through the window, Then died at the mailbox.
Kitty and I are sitting in our screened-in patio watching the sun rise.

Good morning, 61 going to 86 no rain

The new Makita string trimmer is getting a good work out. Impressed with battery life and with 4 batteries it never runs out. The line is holding up well
The Stihl trimmer may stay in retirement.

Wife wants me to go up in the vegetable yard and do some weeding and seeding.

Also did shop classes in HS. Always liked it included things like wood working, home economics, knitting etc, crocheting. Left school at 15 for apprenticeship as blacksmith/truck and farm equipment mechanic.
