hot sweaty successful afternoon.
Well mostly, the adapter that came with bidet was wrong one for toilet, need a reducer, will pick one
up tomorrow.
after much struggling, took apart old couch and went to put new one in.
I could just not pick up my end without hurting myself. Called my brother and he came right over and
it was a struggle but we squeezed it through the 22" wide door.

I need to get some small L brackets to bolt it into floor and that plumbing adapter and job will be done.
got pretty warm out this afternoon
You should have got that RV stuff done while you were at my place. I have all those adapters and L brackets left over from doing my Motorhome.

Don and Kyle, you may be getting both of these total solar eclipses? ...Mostly and LS maybe one?

Don't know where you live, two-bit.

We will be in the path for October 14th when we will have a partial eclipse for 3 hours and 8 minutes.
But the big one is April 8 2004 when we will have full eclipse and total darkness for 3 minutes and 15 seconds. The Farm is planning to sell Moon pies on my suggestion.

I'm past Jennings...came down I-81 to Buchanan, and then up Rte 43 to park yesterday...was faster than BRP and I needed the extra time...still got home after dark...I'll get back down and look for Great Valley soon.
Did you hike south or north from 43?
I sometimes will take BRP north from Roanoke then down 43

A friend of mine is going to go to TX to try to see it. He’s thinking better chance for no clouds.

Late start to the day. Picked up 6 sticks of 2” conduit and got those planted. They fit in the pilot from dash to the back.
Got conduit turned up at shed. Still need about 36ft to reach the house. Now I can start my parking pad next to shed. Spent $300 at Lowe’s today on conduit and fittings, still need 8 more sticks.

Mowed an area around the barn but caught a piece of metal that deflated the rear tire of the ZT mower. The tire is pretty much worn so will get a new one tomorrow. Don't see any tears . May just have been a pushed in side wall. Getting a new one will match the other side

The weather guessers got it all wrong. No rain today and 98˚F.. So now we can say the estate sale was postponed because of heat, not rain. Did get the oil changed on the KIA and a haircut and picked up some yard flowers from Home Depot so today was not a total waste.

Do you carry counter on how many steps you take hiking?....Photos (y)
No, but I do use a phone app that tracks distance, elevation gain, etc.

Did you hike south or north from 43?

I hiked from 43/Bearwallow Gap, to Jennings Creek and back. The hike back was all uphill until the end.

Don, Moon Pies...what a great idea.

Quiet evening in the mountains tonite ! Kathleen and I will be dining on the front deck for probably the last time this year!

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 5.7C and it's presently 13.4C, overcast with the wind predicted to pick up this arvo for a bit. There was 6.7mm in the gauge @ 0900 and I believe that the rain is over for a while.

A 'motivation' day is called for, now that the rain has stopped.

Due to yesterday's rain I didn't notice if the 'Mad Horse Woman' was able to have her Standardbred's saddle fitted... I suspect not.

That's about it, take care all.

Somewhat similar thinking here. We did VRBO vacation rental, but no longer. County keeps changing the rules. Transient tax up to 13%. Shortterm rental redefined as less than 30 days, now, 180 days. Big push for additional licensing which means additional fees. Endgame is to change property tax to deny any homeowner exemptions and new tax category, so we quit shortterm. Still consider the possibility we could lease out main house and use the cottage as a base for travel. Of course this would be after all the furry kids have moved on and a reliable caretaker esconced in the studio to maintain the systems. Tempting, but unlikely to happen.
Yeah.. investigating into our "rules" for rental or other kind of makes me want to fly under the radar for tax purposes.
Anyways.. we have options and that is the best part. Sounds like you do too.
All the best for you and yours.

Need to spend some time on my untidy, but functional home network

You might agree

All this reporting of closing pools, I should report. Very pleased with the salt water conversion of Sophie’s pool. Not that I’m a big time swimmer, but a quick dip followed by a leisurely soak in the hot tube sure make a nice end to the work day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Your home network looks like a job I had to do for a major bank that had routing issues. LOL. The CEO themselves responded to my carefully worded not throwing anyone under a bus analysis with...we are not paying for your thinking...we are paying for your doing. LOL. With that I threw groups of people under the bus. Always add a wire...it confuses engineers.

Busy day!

Going up to PA with Mom to visit her brother and sister-in-law because they are moving, and he has a but load of tools to give me, including a radial arm and table saw, plus other assorted and sundry.

So the day started going shopping for road food, then making sure that a bunch of little things got done for Mrs before leaving for 3 days.

just finished up. Yay!

yesterday, some good finds at the thrifts, including anColeman Cooler in great shape for $5, a New Juno kerosene table lamp that someone had burned a candle in (!) and seized up the mechanism ( but I cleaned it out and just had it burning 😁) and some other treasures.

early start tomorrow - 12+ hour drive if no traffic or road issues.

Will check in as the schedule permits, other wise see you all in a couple days!

Have a happy healthy safe blessed couple of days!

You know how to do all those network wiring jobs on overtime after regular hours, right?

just find the building’s main support beams, figure out when there is an important pow-wow going on, and climb up into the ceiling with a hammer drill and apply intro the appropriate beam…

or so I have heard. . .

😁

Good evening all. 74ºF. Dew Point 70ºF. partly cloudy sky, light breeze. Moderate wind with some brisk gust ahead of the front, Sky clouded up during day, and high temp was 90ºF, HI 97ºF. Men's meeting to start day, putter after meeting. Did get micrometer working again, worked on stiff shifter on bike. Found light purchased yesterday had wrong base, so could not replace the too bright light :(. Put cover back on boat for tonight's rain, and after dinner put truck in garage in case of hail. Quick check of rain gauge shows about 1.7 inch rain at 10:30 and more on radar.
