I read they fixed the overheating by throttling it somehow, not sure they fixed anything.

got the rv couch screwed in and everything put back. Looks good.
not so successful in bathroom. It's going to take some basic plumbing to
get into this hose since no adapters were available. I do wonder if that whole thing was taken apart
and reconfigured whether it might work. I can't get my head in there, just stuck a camera out

one thing is for sure, fitting on Dometic 320 toilet not the same as household.
Check with marine supply places, they usually sell Dometic.

Got the camper pad about done. Wife wants it away from shed enough to open awning, so will probably add a couple feet in width, and might go back 3 ft more. There is about 2 ft now from tires to edge, but gravel slopes down some, and don’t want to have to try to back it in right on the blind edge. I did not use my laser level at all putting in the pad, so went out a few minutes ago to put the laser on it. It is dead on level.
Now it will settle some, but couldn’t believe how level I got it. A good drop at the back so left a pile of dirt to slope it down. Will pull the old gate out one of these days.

The gray piece looks like a threaded PVC pipe nipple, and I would hazard a guess that the black hex fitting would be pipe thread.

It was all luck. wish I had a track loader to dig with, where you can see the front of the bucket. Washing my windows on the cab would help me see better also.. I finally got around to putting the lock and lube on the grease gun. really nice, but had one zerk I could not get, so had to switch it again to get that one on bottom of the hoe pivot.

We are doing our saturday breakfast tomorrow with the gang, so not sure it I'll get any more work done or not. Maybe can work on widening the pad a bit. Still got a bunch of old osb siding from the shed that needs burned, might have a camp fire tomorrow...

also, I mentioned to wife about replacing our blue spruce with a dogwood tree, and she is OK with it.

Don and Kyle, you may be getting both of these total solar eclipses? ...Mostly and LS maybe one?

Don't know where you live, two-bit.

Yes, it will be crossing directly over us (Annular eclipse). Already planning on getting all the welding masks ready!

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 2.4C and it's presently 15.8C, clear with the odd breeze.

Doing a 'turn' around Wagtail Park (mostly looking for any more wind/tree damage) I noticed that the 'Mad Horse Woman' was having the saddle fitting done. Other than that, all's well around the property.

I'm ready to start setting up & manning at the Polling Centre tomorrow morning (and throughout the week). I get there at a "sparrow's f@rt" (Aussie for 'very early') so I'm in for loooong days. Weather long-cast for next week looks good.

Because of this I'll be reporting in rather sporadically.

That's about it, take care all.

No progress, just wasted time this morning. My network reconfiguration required moving a Ubiquiti component from Cottage to house. Was hoping just relocating to opposite end wouldn’t require major reconfiguration. Wrong, unit wouldn’t even power up. Tried everything I could think and every suggestion I could Google. Apparently it has just died. Out of warranty of course. Gave up and ordered replacement. Grrrrr

Dennis, I am exceptionally envious that you got to spread some gravel...... looks great!
I will have to get some more gravel, the 'turn around' section that I did is still a bit too small.... the car-- no problem.... the truck--- still needs another 3 ft.

Drew, what about any RV place? They should have an adapter..... but....

Bill, welcome home! I don't blame you one bit to finally give up the driving. Lots of crazy cagers out there!

Thomas, I hope your leg is feeling better! We definitely don't bounce like we used to.....

Got a little bit done on the addition and covered porch. Beam is tied in and ready for rafters / purlins. Hopefully get them done tomorrow and the metal roof done Sat.

It's strange to me to keep jumping back and forth on different aspects of the build....
Need to get the roof on the deck area so I can cut into the wall to remove the existing "bump out". Need to have it somewhat out of the weather. I also need the window out of the bump out to fill the hole waiting for it in the new wall..... then I can do the siding.....

At least the weather is nice. Sunny, low to mid 70's, crisp mornings around 38°. And... I hate to say it... no rain!

Everbody have a great evening!

LS,
I’ll need another load of stone, I used it all. I’ve been backfilling around conduits with the stone also, then dirt on top. But first 40 ft in front of shed is all stone backfill.
Thinking of putting more stone behind the barn where I store the other trailers. I can see at least another $800 in stone and conduit. It cost almost $400 for a 20 ton load, $100 was delivery, and I’m 5 miles from the quarry.
Problem is the best place to put the stone will prohibit me moving the camper. I bought 2 new trailer tires from Costco, need to get 2 tires off and taken to Costco. Then I’ll do the other 2.

L4N...glad your back safe and sound. :)
You got months and month to think before you turn page and start new chapter retirement...take your time.
There is more to it than a mere decision. I am scared skinny going down the road. I have never in 50 years of driving big trucks have I ever been as scared as I am now. It has gotten worse, not better since labour day weekend. That is the main reason why I am quitting. We will see how driving my Journey goes and if it is the same then I will pack in the job totally. As it is right now, I have a job working for the guy I have hauled to for the past 20 years, if I want it.

Yeah, I hear 'ya about the cost..... 28 tons cost me just under $500 ---- including the delivery. I'm within 6 miles, so they'll do 2- 14 ton loads for the one delivery charge of $75

Speaking of tires ---- a note of warning-- do not buy Mohave brand tires..... they are on the little car for just over 12 months, about 14k miles. The fronts were down to 3/32, rears at 4/32nds. They have a 40k milage warranty, so they are getting turned in for 60% credit. Went with a different brand with a 65k warranty. Had to be ordered, so sometime next week.

I bought towmaster tires from Costco. Made in China. I can’t find the mfr date on them. Now I see lots of bad reviews on other sites about them. But I also see great reviews.
Not sure to return. Goodyears cost double.
I have towmaster on my 16 ft trailer and never had a problem.

Amazon is refunding me for the battery I never got, that USPS says got delivered. I had 2 amazon deliveries that day from Amazon via USPS, 2 different delivery times on tracking, battery got delivered to someone else. Not uncommon for our post office.

Got 2.2” Wednesday night and Thursday the burn ban was lifted. Burned a small pile of limbs yesterday and will try a few more this morning.

Coffee is cooling in cup. 58° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 63° with mix of sun and clouds. .92" of rain. Grocery shopping was good. It was pouring rain when I went to get hearing aids. Mixed feelings on how well the work. Going to take awhile to get adjusted to them. Did find out that a clicking noise I kept hearing was hearing aid hitting glasses. Car is in bad need of a wash job. No other plans for today.
