Good morning!!!!

Back home from Mom's 100th birthday celebration in FL. It was great. We are so blessed. Not too many 65-75 yr olds (5 kids) have both of their parents who are 95 and 100 yrs old. First time we were all together in 15 years. It was a very special visit.
but it feels good to be back home on the ranch.
My mom will be 98 in January. I'm hoping she makes it. It's been a little rough on her lately with bad knees. Her aunt lived to 105 with the same ailment. Lost my dad in 2010 but he had a good run to 86.

I have always thought a giraffe was an elegant animal
that's a lot of neck to scratch...

mailed off check for 1200 bucks for fuel oil, prepay for 300 gallons.
there is no reason for it to cost this much except for greed.
of course that applies to our prescription drug industry also.

a fair price for the fuel oil ought to be around 3 dollars a gallon. The current profit level of
our refineries is obscene. great stocks to own, big paybacks to investors.
We need a glut of oil some how, drive the cost down, and not send so much to China and elsewhere.
2nd and 3rd world demand for fuel ever increasing, we are all competing for world resources.

super cheap oil is no bargain either. Look at Venezuela. whole country has economically collapsed.

there is cost per barrel and cost per gallon. Whole lot of games played to get from one to the other.
I'd be happy at 3 bucks a gallon.

which I guess sounds laughable to David in Hawaii or to our Canadian friends
who seem to get taxed on fuel even more.

we started off in campfires with gathered wood we found to keep warm.
looks like we are still hunting for the best fuel.

for four bucks a gallon, what else could I use? Two buck Chuck?
not sure my Beckett burner would digest left over cooking oil well...

You know that's not going to happen with the current administration. He has already said, "No more oil". We'll have to go to war before he breaks that promise. Or folks are so poor, hungry and out of work because our life depends on China.

Careful, Tinhack— talk like that can get you put in TBN Timout…

Ya gotta be a bit more subtle

I see a what looks like a 39 Ford on the right side of that picture. It also looks like it's in the South. That price was good until about the late 60s when the then administration again locked down the oil and there was NO gas. Remember the gas lines of the 70s?

Happy anniversary M7040 , 58 is a good number.

I remember gas jumping from .35 to 1.00 in a year or so, right around when I got my first car.
Most of the work money I made went into the tank, left over to partying, and somehow I paid for college too.
