good morning
28 going 49 today no rain

Pond still not overflowing although it is right at overflow elevation. Any rain fall will overflow it and could be a safety issues as well as cause damage to pavement and erosion of property.. Not hard to imagine what a 100 year rain fall will do

An animal is wedging under the fence for the vegetable yard. The 8 ft high wire mesh fence is extremely tight. I can only lift up the lower wire by an inch or so with lots of effort yet whatever borrowed under has caused the vertical wires to bend. What animal could it be? Plan to drive some rebar tied to the lower wire into the ground to close it off and push some dirt up to the fence with the excavator.

Good Moning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

23.5F going to mid-50s, getting cloudy later.

work went reasonably smoothly, we are now getting enough jobs in to keep everyone who is not still in training working through the day. The production system seems to be working much better than the training system, which is good for us AND the clients! We have our portable CD players up and running, and we are starting to plow through the rack of disks again — it is nice to dust them all off and play ones that otherwise just sit, you forget just how good (or awful 😂🤣😂) some things are in the collection.

After church, dogs are going up to the woodlot for a walk, we will be trying Harry off leash AFTER Taking him up and down the mountain and letting him howl his fool head off! E-collar will be fully charged and I will have on good comfy hiking shoes in case it goes sideways and I have to take off afte him over hill and Dale…

if all goes well, I might fire up excavator and let it fully warm up and give it a thorough greasing.

WHN we get back, I have to lock myself in the spare bedroom and really get to work on the paperwork for the Infernal Revenue Service…🤬🤮

I hope everyone as a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Kilroy, I've waited, figured you were tired from thanking folks, but I'll pull up the rear here
Happy Birthday!

this little gif came from someone here I think years back
Thank you!!!

it is never tiring to thank those who wish you well — it is uplifting to need to do it so much!

Frits sounds like old expression of playing with fire ought to be changed to playing with water...
no margin for error is never a plus
your concern and legitimate annoyance comes through

Kilroy, you double posted. I just got another quirky error code. I think the electronic gods are unhappy

I think I found the gold mine of greenhouse kits at Wayfair.

it was a link that I clicked on and went whoa
lots to study

I have the place for it, my "old" garden shed spot, all nicely level with heavy gravel
and six by sixes. That will be a project for me for next winter. But that doesn't get full sun either back there.
If I can get a long lease extension here, I would be willing to build something nice in the back yard, attractive enough
that no one could complain. And since my landlady is an avid gardener, I think this would fly.

In NC it was so hot I really didn't want full sun all day, and I got it. Fried a lot of plants.
Here in PA much different summer weather, so I need all the sun I can get.

At 125 bucks, glad to give this one away to friends when done.
some pretty good deals in here, this one high rated and even less expensive:

Happy New Year ! ;)
thank you!

Yeah, for under $300 that u it is amazing, especially when considering that, way back when (almost a quarter-century) when I was in law enforcement running the Tech Unit, the comparable-image-quality unit available at the time was a unit the size of a box of Girl Scout Cookies (plus a bit more) and cost over $15000!

same with covert cameras —- what you can do with about $500 in Ring equipment used to be $6-7G. And less image quality…

if I don't want to use a propane torch, what would be a good way to cut nice round holes in landscape plastic? RS?
I would think a hole saw would grab instead of cut
suppose I can always cut squares or rectangles
one site said to cut an X in the fabric, that sounds like a good plan

long rows for radishes and lettuce and beans are easy, just going to cut out a one inch wide opening. I have lots of extra staples, fabric came with a small set of them, a very welcome surprise. So I plan on cutting a slot about two feet long, then leave several inches of material, and then extend the slot, put a staple in the middle, keep it all strong. It's only four feet long anyway
this year.....
I will not overfill
I will not overfill
Take a metal can, 1lb or so, punch some 3/8” air holes about an inch up from the all around the can, make a wire coat-hangar handle, start about a dozen charcoal briquettes, get them going good and hot, drop them in the can and swing the fan around in a circle to get the cam good and hot.

you can now walk down the line and just set the cam down wherever you need a golem and apever so often just swing the cam around to reheat the metal.

Good morning! Low of 31°, high only expected to hit 40°. Wind, wind, and more wind! Started last night, gusty now. Red flag warnings through tomorrow with wind 30-45mph with gusts as high as 65 mph.
Basically no precipitation out of this storm. Big bad clouds.... just no rain...disappointing.

Scott, wish Kathleen a HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎁🎂. Too bad you're on the short side of the vacation. Isn't it amazing at how fast vacations fly by?

Plowhog, hope you have a speedy recovery from the procedure. That was one hard trip for sure!

Ken, sorry that the lab results didn't reveal the issue. The process of elimination is just as important as finding a reason... hang in there!
Great news that the complicated cuts are done. Always feels great to get through a 'phase' of a project.

Drew, the plantings are looking good! You sure do spoil your plants.... heating pads and all!
"Welcome to Drew's plant spa! -- would you like a mud mask?"
For cutting the landscape fabric, we just use a box-cutter razor knife. Cuts real easy and clean as long as there's a good blade.

Kilroy, haven't heard about the excavator for a while now..... just waiting for weather to get better? Oh, the sawmill too.... just hibernation time?

I have one of those pads too.... for the good knee. Can't put any weight on the bad... I am definitely not as graceful getting up. Usually have to roll onto the butt, get the good leg under, then grab, pull, lift up on whatever is local..... definitely no finesse involved......
Needless to say, it doesn't often, only a last resort. One must find different alternative ways of doing things.....

Good news is that the glue held on the new fan that I broke.....whew! They are low speed fans, so not concerned that it's gonna fly off. That's my project for today, get them installed. Will need to make a wiring harness to start. A good inside project!

May also take some time to measure and draw up the cabinet plans (Cut list). Wifey decided to not go with a corner cabinet, just a straight cabinet. Makes it easier for me!

Everyone have a great day!
Mrs is not a fan of cold weather, but she also will not let me work by myself. . . 🤬 so little gets done, plus doing the cube-farm tax-prep work cuts into available time to work outside. End of March things will start up again…

24 climbing to 52. Beautiful morning.

Plowhog, prayers for recovery.

Happy Birthday to Mrs. Scotty.

Don, looks like you've got it ready for potatoes!

m70, not sure what you have, but I've seen coyotes do that. Trail cam time!

Low key day yesterday...house chores...wife came home at dinnertime for a shower, clean clothes and a bed...sounds like I'm running a hostel. She's heading back to the hospital in a little while...they are releasing her mom and moving her to nursing care.
