Looks like the tornado story made it to Weather Underground, Mike:
Sounds like your daughter inherited your horse sense.
Yesterday started off with answering an ad for a used motorcycle helmet with a built in comm system. It'll replace my badly aged gear, and let me chat when I'm out riding along with my buds down south. The ad said the owner had only used it for six hours, but had lost the use of his right eye and was no longer riding. I only have monocular vision because my right eye often drifts and I guess my brain just ignores it. Passed that along to the seller to have hope he might find his way back onto two wheels if he has a mind to.
After breakfast I got a little seat time with the box blade to move some excess gravel on the driveway up over the top of the hill, filling in some small ruts in the process. Hopefully that gives the van a little more purchase and we make it to the top without any drama this morning. If not, plan B is to back down to the flat and hitch the trailer to the 4WD pickup, drag the trailer up to the top, and then hook it back up to the van. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that, though.
Toward the end of the day I got a notice on the iPhone that it had detected several compromised passwords. Apparently it's a new feature of the operating system, one I'd been unaware of. Did some googling to figure out what was going on, then just to be safe, spent an hour or so changing passwords. Not the best use of my time, but that's the way things are these days. If you're running the latest iOS version, you'll find it under Settings->Passwords->Security Recommendations.
I also got an email, supposedly from Starlink, that a shipment was on its way to me. I haven't ordered anything from Starlink for at least a year, and when I punched the tracking numbers into the FedEx website, they all showed as delivered, and each delivery address was different. Likely the email was a spear fishing attempt, and had I clicked the tracking numbers in the email it could have been trouble.
Finished loading yesterday, but still a few last minute items to put in the van. Hope to get out of here by 7AM, then spend the rest of the day droneing down the freeway.
Happy Hump Day, everyone...
