78 going to 81 lovely day

Picked up groceries and enjoyed the cool morning.

Going down the meadow to fix more tree shelters that the last storm messed up. Have a lot of branches down also that will be scheduled for another day.
Feel much better today after the stomach settled down. Even slept in a little. Enzyme insufficiency acts like Wegovy for weight loss.

Inspected the mower after hitting the rock and it survived with just a few chips on the blades. The ZD331 is more like a tank and takes a lot of abuse.

My big Tom Kat has finally got the idea that he can sleep on the bed when I am in it. Not like Smokie, yet. She used to wait until I got into bed and she would lay on my chest and purr up a storm until I fell asleep. This is the same cat that would jump up onto my mouse pad and park all 4 feet on top of my hand when it was holding the mouse.
so yours does that too. :ROFLMAO: Pebbles hops up on my lap and will lay across the keyboard. Yesterday pebbles was stealing green beans from the box before my wife could get to them to snap.

spent all morning chasing down bills from my son's accident back in early april. Between insurance and hospital billing, they make it so confusing. It looks like son got double billed for CT scans. Insurance is sending it all back to get looked at again, apparently some billed as out of network when it should be in network, and the double billing question from Hospital and a radiology group. Then trying to find where my Auto insurance sent a payment for some of it. they claim it went to hospital, hospital has no record of it. I googled the outfit that Auto Insurance Co thinks was the hospital, looks like a 3rd party DR group of some kind. Don't know who that is, and how it got billed to the insurance. Sure didn't go thru my health insurance. Big mystery now in the hands of my auto insurance.
My health ins. did pay for the ambulance bill finally, that was a biggie also. Still can't believe they drove right by the closest ER and took him further away. On the county website it says they bill mileage to the CLOSEST hospital, yet they billed to the 3rd furthest.......
But on the other hand, I'm glad son wasn't hurt that bad, it could have turned out much worse...

good leftover hamburger from last night for lunch.

78F and partly cloudy @ 14:00 heading up to around 81F for the day's high. LWS reports the low this morning was 57.7F.

Slow getting rolling this morning, cat woke me up around 08:30 ... got up, fed her, took a leak and then back to bed ... after shutting the door so she couldn't get back in the bedroom ... ;)

Finished refilling that one sprayer yesterday.

Took Cub around back and started mowing over the leach field, decided the rest of it down here around the house could wait a few more days. Still lots of sticks to pick up.

Continued on with more compost screening.

Swapped out the Light Material bucket for the Shrub bucket after lunch and got all the hosta dug out at the southeast corner of the house and moved those over to the east planting bed for The Woman to work on. Around a half a dozen large clumps.

Helped Woman pull a couple of large weeds She was having trouble with.

Then back up to do more compost screening, making quite a dent in the original pile:

Pile to the left (above) has been through the screen once and needs to go through again at least once before being added to the new compost pile:

Finished spraying the weeds on the original screened material pile, also sprayed along my neighbor's pasture fence and some out by the road. Emptied sprayer and took it back down and started refilling it.

Got a couple staples from the wire going to the electrical box on the deck removed so it's entirely free.

Not much action on the Perseids last night, although I did see one ... which might have been one of the longer ones I've ever seen.

Woman cleaning up the kitchen in preparation for making some tomato sauce.

Need to get more diesel for the Kubota.

Beyond that not sure what else is on the agenda.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

Good morning! Low of 56°, going up to 86°, 60% chance of t-storms.
We only got a 1/4" over the weekend at home, disappointing. It rained off and on the entire trip up in Colorado. They must have gotten at least a couple inches.

Successfully found the issue on the daughter's V-10 Excursion .... it was about to puke out 2 spark plugs, a common issue with those motors. Early catch, so no major damage. Then found 2 more plugs that were cross threaded and slightly boogered the threads in the aluminum heads. I was really sweating getting them out! Was able to get the new plugs treaded correctly after much swearing and contortions.

I would really like to track down the engineering team that designed that engine.... and make them perform that job.... the plugs are recessed about 6" deep, then long boots with springs to the plug.
Then 3 are located under the cowl, accessed by "feel"

Headed out early this morning to start cutting the septic leach field which grew astronomically fast with the 2" rain last week. Got that cut and then a few cuts to prep to cut the fields with the big tractor.
Headed to the front to cut that area, two passes around and a downpour! Tractor got put away and I got a soaking for my trouble.....Over a 1/4" in 10 minutes. At least there wasn't any dirt cloud getting kicked up!

LFN (Bill), sorry to hear about the queen kitty. Always hard to loose a friend. Nice trike, be careful out on the roads.... lots of crazy cagers out there aiming for ya'....

WNG, condolences to you and family. Take care.

Kyle, your brake job sounds like my experience changing the plugs! Glad you got it all fixed!

Drew, nice car show. Thanks for sharing the pics. Plenty of nice shiny things to drool over.....

Paul, HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY! Good progress on the addition. What's your next step?

Rest of the day is now slated for conserving energy. The string trimmer is calling..... it will have to wait until tomorrow.

BEF, cats are characters, that is for sure. While I was cutting the grass I found a carcass from a small animal that one of the cats murdered. So far I haven't found any bird remains, so they must have found a good hiding place.
I only turn my keyboard on when I am going to type something.

LS, have you thought about changing the heads? Or putting in helicoils in the boogered up plug holes?
