Sorry for the late check in but I have been helping my son and DIL put the Birthday Party setup together for my 2 grand daughters that I turning 3 !

what a long day but I'm here in Milan NM, near Grants.
glad I did not make extra stops, would have been too much for me.
So I stopped nowhere but plugged on.
I'll do Sedona next time...

New Mexico has beautiful mountains, all that wonderful color
but wow the wind picked up and blew me sideways once almost out of my lane.
Sure held the wheel tighter from then on.
Very breezy here at this basically low rent campground, 31 bucks for the night.
gravel parking lot, but I have shade from a tree.

just took a nice hot shower and going to try to nap.
sounds like I need to work on my character too...

all along route 10 and 40 have been long freight trains, some parked, some moving, but constant intermodal and bulk carriers going through.
One is currently shaking this rv. Very low rumble like an earthquake.
train tracks aren't far away, usually this noise doesn't both me, not like the tire whine/braaaattttt of semis.

if I think driving a car across these long stretches can get boring, I wonder how that train engineer stays awake

going outside to fly the drone if not too windy
would not go up high due to some restriction but was able to catch the freight
train going by

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.7C and it's presently 15.0C [heading to 18C], overcast with a light breeze. Brief rain predicted for this arvo.

I was able to get my little air compressor to work correctly and hold pressure. I think that the bottom drain valve is the problem. Anyway, seeing as I had pressure, I jacked up the front of the Z-turn and inflated the tyres. Happy that the bead on the left one seated but I'll need to check that today or tomorrow.

I'm off to Church in a little over a half hour from now and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Successful day, almost..... got the photo sensor switched out, works like it should. Then got the car oil change/ maintenance done.

Went and got pizza for an early dinner. Then went to do the truck maintenance. Moved it to the garage and popped the hood.... what a mess!
A mouse house (more like hotel) next to the battery, made out of the battery insulation jacket. Then noticed the chewed wires. Awww NUTS!

Cleaned it out, spliced the wires, all check ok. Luckily, the wires were for the auxiliary fog and driving lights and the brake controller. Didn't see any chewed factory wires ---- whew....

I'm gonna have a long talk with the cats about not doing their job!

Drew, those tracks through Grants run around 100 trains per day. Long trains, counted one with 130 cars once, 3 locos up front, 2 in the rear. Definitely a lot of freight through there.

Time for a shower and then relax.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 64° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 73° with slight chance of rain. .07" of rain from remnants of Helene. Day started off with moving phone number to iPhone 16 plus. Then move number from old iPhone 10 number to iPhone 14. Everything went good until I tried to access my Ring in on new phone. Had to call Ring. Got a good tech. Had it fixed in 10 minutes. Got brackets made and installed on Trac-Vac. Another 2 hour project that ended in over 4 hours. No plans for today except pick Son up at airport in afternoon.

Good Morning.
It’s 60° with a high of 65 forecast. Been grey and gloomy for three days, but just mist and light drizzle, no appreciable rain. Less than .1” yesterday.

Yesterday I accomplished some small tasks in the old folks home, made a frame for the bathroom mirror to match the window and door trim. I’ll order the mirror to fit it tomorrow.

Made a quick Costco run and checked out TV’s there and at at Best Buy. I’m planning to go back and pick them up today, as they were on sale at Best Buy. If I bought into a $50 “membership”, I could save $400, making the purchase half of the price of Amazon.

Not much else planned for today, although I always seem to find something to keep me occupied. Going out to dinner with the family tonight to celebrate my impending birthday.
