Good morning! 62˚F heading to 85˚ by noon, clear skies.
We are ready for the mega garage sale where 150 households sell their un-needed/downsized items. We have a bench and two lamps in the neighbors spot and will man it while they shop. Perfect weather so there will be a big crowd (thousands). The parking lot fills up fast and we usually have to park a few blocks away on a neighborhood street. The sale only last 4 hours and the last hour most thing are 1/2 price. Goodwill and the Salvation Army have their large trailers in the parking lot so no one has to take back home their unsold items.

Good Morning
It’s 60° and clear, forecast to stay that way as the temp rises to 75.

Yesterday was productive. Cedar is finished, walk and patio are all formed and prepped for Monday’s pour. They still need the rebar placed, that will happen Monday morning.

There is also a small pad at the kitchen door that is ready to pour as well. The walk excavation stayed pretty tidy, the excavator dumped its spoils into the loader bucket which hauled it around to the backfill pile.

I did get to hook up the Progressive mower and get the open areas mowed, hopefully I’ll do the trimming with the Lazer today.

Rehearsal and prep for today’s gig went well, had a last minute switch to a substitute drummer, our regular drummer should be there today. But we got a basic sound check that let the mix engineer get approximate settings to save time at the winery today.

On the lighter side, my buddy with the sawmill, added some accessory google eyes to his excavator, they look great, and got a big seal of approval from my grandson.

good morning, 57 going to 73

Changed oil and filter on the van yesterday

Two outside doors are stuck in the log house section. I had leveled the beams in the basement. Not sure if there was more settlement in the basement beams or some wall log settlement.

I love that bucket.
just looks like a giant PacMan about ready to take a bite
perhaps it will start a trend
do any of you Texans have horns on your tractor hood?
nice set of magnet mounts you are all ready for the wide open spaces
just take them off in the woods....
assuming your hood is metal, ??

I still have the new rear view camera to get operational.
Hoping Mostly might fiddle with it with me.
At this site here, my ebike almost crunched into a fence in back, reminded me to get this done.
solar powered, wireless, just needs monitor activated in front, not going to mount it, can lay it flat on my giant armrest and pick it up if I need to.
apropos of no steel on back of rv, there was none. Only on the frame of the ebike holder. So clank on it went and I secured it with a zip tie. Still there today. Needs improvement, install still sketchy. Not enough magnet to metal contact.
likely need a small steel plate fabbed and then attached with two zip ties.
I'll take a pic later.

have to mount camera down low, though if I were going to trouble of fabbing a metal bracket for it, I'd likely put it up higher on the roof ladder. It has a 2x3 solar panel on top that adjusts for tilt.
Currently three feet off the ground. But that's where that post was in Michigan that bit me, in my blind spot of sorts. More like I was just blind...

I would sure like one with a lidar dinger on it.
That's the other name for your wife saying "c'mon back" as she stands back there.
me, I need a lidar dinger. They make stuff for garage parking, might have fun with this.

Frits, that's the kind of support my lower back needs...

Good Morning,
Ct, 54 to start going to 73 ! Another beautiful fall day although a bit warm for this time of year !

Paul, I love the eyes on the excavator! Very cool ! Walkway looks very nice also ! Should be outstanding when completed!

Drew, 4 am is definitely too early ! Good luck with dropping weight for your treat ! 😉

We are taking our youngest sons kids to the children museum today so they can pack for their trip to Aruba tomorrow!

Better fillet going! Have a great day ! 🙏

made stupid mistake of keeping street water on overnight with no regulator. Left my ten dollar brass one on last post...sigh. Was down in a pit and I didn't see it. But I have my original with a gauge I dug out that is marginal but I think still works. The gauge is all beat up, not sure it works.

so 70 psi or so all night on my terrible plumbing just aggravated the existing leak and one wet towel later, another dry one went in its place. It's just fresh water and doesn't smell at all but not good for rv. So as soon as light out going out to turn off water and run on internal tank water. Again.

you know the expression a silk purse from a cow's ear?
that would be my rv plumbing transforming into Popgadgets gleaming wall of plumbing copper.
that would be more than cool.

Morning all, 66 going to 77 and sunny.
Good day in the city yesterday, but long.
Started out downtown by Washington square park and NYU.

When I was very young every year the American Water Color Society had their big sidewalk sale right north of the park. Fond memories of hanging out with my GF while he showed his paintings.

Valerie Harper bought quite a few and she even sat on the step with me, I was about 4 and chatted for a while.

The mews was right behind where his stall was, and now these old, small houses are owned and preserved by NYU language school. Not many of the smaller older side streets are still around, think this one and the stuyvesant ones are the only blocks like this in NYC now.

Trip to McSorleys for a brew, oldest continuously open bar in NYC (1854). Only bar I've been thrown out of three times, though yesterday I behaved.

On to Hunter college and then to Eli's bakery, another famous spot so the wife and kid could get some cookies. Eli's was on our way home when we lived on the upper East side many years ago.

be well,

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 7:45AM. Sunny. Near record high temperatures. High near 100F. Winds light and variable.

Looks like a nice pair of old birds there, Billy!

Mopped out the shipping container yesterday morning before it got too hot. Used one bucket of clean water for each 8'x8' section and had to go over it twice to get all the dust/mud out. Put ads up on Craig's List and Facebook Marketplace, but no nibbles yet.

Spent the rest of the day upside down under the kitchen sink replacing a breather for the dishwasher drain line. The drain line for the dispose all had gotten so stiff the breather wouldn't sit straight on the sink top, so I thought I'd be able to change positions with the soap dispenser and ease the strain. Also thought a new breather would have better threads, but it, too, was made of plastic that didn't offer very strong threads. Had to take the dispose all off its mount to get at anything, and it took hours to get it back on the mounts. It was too heavy to hold in place with one hand, and there was no one around to lend an extra one. Thought of using my small jack, but I left it down south for some reason, and the one under the seat of the van wouldn't fit into the space. Ended up propping it up with wood blocks, using paint sticks to shim it up the last half inch. Ordered a new silicone hose that I hope will be more flexible, and that I hope even more gets here tomorrow.

Speaking of deliveries, the second attempt to order the water well pump controller seems to have gone bad, too. I forgot to change the default delivery address to the old house, but did remember to change it a couple hours later. The Amazon website confirmed the change, but the change was applied to only one of the three items on the order. All are reporting as delivered now, and the proof of delivery doc for the controller says it was accepted by the resident (me), who was 425 miles north of the location at the time. The signature on the form is a straight horizontal line. The USPS handled the delivery, so I'm hoping they're holding it with the rest of the mail until I get back next week. Just another delay in getting this place finished and onto the market.

Today I'll get some touch up paint on to some repairs where hose reels and other items were mounted to the outside of the house, and some baseboard repairs inside. I'm thinking that'll finish up the painting part of the refurb.

Not sure what else I'll get into, except that it will be inside.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

67°F and .07 inches rain

Got back from town yesterday and my motivation seemed to have missed the return trip. Hopefully it found its way home overnight.

Still need to get more mowing done. Hilo end of property.

Appreciate you traveling guys sharing so much. Another 5 months until our Ireland adventure.

Paul, the OFH is sure coming along. You have a target move in date?

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

It was a perfect morning for the parking lot garage sale. Pictured is about half 10 minutes after it opened. My neighbor sold 95% of his stuff and we sold all ours. However we could not find the perfect Items to buy that were on our list so we came home empty.

Good morning! Low of 46°, going up to 83°, sunny with light breezes.

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta started this morning.... late by an hour due to stronger breezes. Not all launched however. We went a few times, awesome sight. Now we find it much, much easier to watch it live on TV. No traffic, no crowds, no extortion on food prices.

Drew, I really think the leak is from an O-ring on the foot valve. Should be an easy fix..... if you can fit in that space....
Safe travels.

Paul, the addition has really come together! Very nice, both in and out!

Dennis, that wasn't too much standing water, how much rain fell in the area?

RNG, 100°? Isn't that really odd for this time of year? Please close the door... windows too!
Don't want those temps here.

Wifey's birthday present finally arrived... two 26" tall planters. So I know what I'm doing today....
Get them filled, soaked down, then plant the couple of flowers she acquired on her birthday. Once they get set in their spot on the porch, I'll run a micro dripper up to them.

Then some more moving of mulch. This time it will get spread. An area of no plantings, but the weeds grow crazy there. I'm tired of having to weed wack it so close to the house, RV, and vehicles. That's a big "oops" waiting to happen. Been lucky for 4 years. Some landscape fabric, some mulch, and done.

I better get moving...
Everyone have a great day!

safe and worn out in Clayton NM after five hour drive.

first two hours hard driving in rush hour traffic (Saturday?) five lanes full
I left early, 7am to avoid afternoon winds.
Basically drove through Denver rush hour and then
got off near Monument to get gas. Tried to get back on and oh no the
on ramp was half full and the traffic was backed up as far as one could see.
I slowly worked my way over to the left, not normal for me, but that line was moving.
The right was not. Almost three miles of backed up traffic later, I realized it was the North entrance to the Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs. . Is something going on there today, President arriving, can't imagine that backup every morning. It was nuts.

There was only about a mile backup coming in the other direction.

Coyote Keeth's campground is simple, unattractive, no one in office, pretty marginal and in the right spot. No shade, 90 out, but I installed several panels of reflective material on the rear window and side window and that sure helped with the sun.
I want to improve them by using some velcro connectors. That might be a future project but they work fine stuffed behind the shades

put the old water regulator back on and going to take long hot shower and hopefully a nap. Wet towels outside drying off, to be used again.

Ted, thanks, Dometic 320, one year old, maybe, but I sure can't fit in there.
toilet has to be removed anyway to get at anything.
I carry a spare toilet flush valve but not the pedal o-ring.
guess I'll look that up.

headache and neckache are saying get me to hot water, head/neck on swivel for
hours talks to me later

/ Good morning!!!! #197,578
that just felt lovely and put me in a better mood.
this campground is almost empty with two sheriff's cars here.
no manager in site, I think they do it by camera

rv is starting to rock.
over 20mph gusts and more to come
big cold front coming in
90 here when I got here, high of 74 tomorrow.
one little problem which might be a big problem for me.
But I shall venture forth.
High wind warnings for tomorrow even in the morning
the front is still coming through.
may wind up driving pretty slow

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 5.4C and it's presently 7.9C [heading to 18C], overcast & fairly calm. Raining at the moment... I'll check the gauge when I get home from Church.

Yesterday was a lovely on&off of sunshine/drizzle.

I've survived the time change and all clocks changed prior to toddling off to bed.

So now it's a matter of going to Church and then the rest of the day is His.

Update: There was 7.2mm in the gauge @ 0815.

That's about it, take care all.

'Wagtail, thanks for starting the day for the rest of us.

of course curious minds wonder if two police cruisers nearby
are meeting at the incident command center for more than
work meeting.
IF you see me a rockin
don't come a knockin
or we'll arrest your butt!

now I'm sure they are there preplanning hurricane response or maybe a major drug
bust. Stay tuned.
should I go over and ask?
and repeat
if you see me a rockin
don't come a knockin
you fool

perhaps not

this is not an ideal place to store county equipment, wide open and totally unprotected, makes we slightly curious why they are here.

I'm on flat ground and levelers had no problem, but still think with higher wind
going to put the big rubber wheel chocks on.
Because if I'm rockin
it's because of 30 mph gusts
