Good morning TBN!!
20 here today and the heat pump is still limping along so I turned on the feet warmer.
Supposed to get to low 50s and sun. No white Christmas here. In fact by definition we have only had 2 whites Christmas since they have been keeping records.
Not a lot yesterday. Wife went calling on various friends for most of the day and took the dog.
I went to start the 4 wheeler yesterday and another solenoid out. Not sure what it is with me and solenoids but this is like three on the machine this year. Ebay so I decided to try one from Amazon. It won't be here until Friday. Probably wouldn't ride much this week anyway. It just clicks when key is turned but fires right up jumping the posts.
Not much on the agenda today. I will spend some time in the shop this morning and probably get roped in to a Christmas movie or two this evening.
With out the dog here I only got 7k yesterday but thinking he will want to make it up today!

Good morning, the low is 22 and going down to a high of 16°F. Wind NNW 9 mph. Cloudy. 30% chance of flurries/freezing rain. Given a choice I will take the flurries.

I will go out today and clean this place up proper. I only gave it a lick and a promise yesterday. Cleaned up the neighbours properly. I will probably clean out the ends of the driveways where the township plow leaves his windrows.

Morning to all;
It's warmed up overnight to a balmy 22F this morning. For once my shopping is done and even the kind of wrapping. Just a bit of cooking left to do for tonight and tomorrow.
I'll be going out in a couple of hours to clean the driveway, then be prepare to ferry visitors without 4wd and snow tires up and down.
Looking outside right now just a light snow drifting down;

Looks like we will have a white Christmas this year.

Good morning! 65˚F heading to the mid 70s. Looks like it will be a wet Christmas Eve as a wet cold front will be pushing into central Texas this evening.

I'm surprised that my 35 potato plants are doing well. I figured the deer or frost would have whipped them out by now. I may have a potato harvest next month.

Our vegan neighbors from Australia gave us a Plant based recipe book from Australia, we will be trying some of the recipes today. If they turn out the neighbor will get some goodies.

Tonight to our friends for Christmas eve. Been going for over 20 years, less older people, more youngsters.

Went into town for a bit last night, wife baked (more) cookies.

A white Christmas here, neigbhor is rebuilding his house. His family is nice. Seems like a weird time to start though.

Good Morning.
20° and snowing when I woke up. It’s clear now and climbing to the upper 30’s.

I started with breakfast with the professor, did the tri monthly fill up on the Prius,( just under 10 gallons at $2.85) on the way home.
Snow was over, so I got out the tractor and plowed. My Son (new Landlord) manned the shovel for walks, patios and cleanup while I ran the tractor.

Ive got some more deliveries to make today, but other than that, no big plans.
Back to cleaning and organizing.

great to wake up to 30 deg out. When I woke up in my chair at 4 AM, it was 27 deg out, and my geo units were keeping up. went to bed then, and surprised it was 10 am when I woke up again.

Ken, I started framing my house in January, doing it my self took a couple months to frame.

Late yesterday afternoon we took the kids and one girlfriend up to Gettysburg PA. Lots of detours on the way, as wife needed to drop something off at someone's house, and then we went thru a couple of the covered bridges. Then an accident had main road shut down, so saw it in time to get off and go around on back roads. So got to Gettysburg at dusk, and no time to drive thru the park, but we did eat in the tavern of the Dobbin House, built 1776. Nice time together.
Son's girlfriend wanted to see old pics of him, so we showed a lot of those after we got back.

Freezing rain forecast this morning turned into just a few snow pellets.

I went down for a power nap at 9:30, just got up a few minutes ago. The block heater has been on since 7:30 so the tractor should start good this morning. Time to clean up.

I may have been wrong earlier today aboot the white Christmas.
We have a light snow cover but with 100% cloud cover and only 34F I thought it would hold on.
Only noon and it's already disappearing quick. Grass is showing through everywhere.
It hasn't been that cold except for the past weekend so the ground must still be relatively warm and melting the snow from below.
Good thing I follow the Pagans and the solstice has come and gone.
Spark up the fireplace and stretch out in my favorite Lazy-Boy until the insanity passes.

Picked up groceries curbside and surprised lady with a good sized tip. Brought in firewood and took out ashes.
Spent some time last few days with GD educating her about college and scholorships. Even though 40 k a year sounds like a lot it needs to be compared to cost and how much it may be short. Also encouraged her to get going now on off campus scholarships to make up the difference. D is helping her with the applications and evaluation of acceptance offers.

Plowing all done. I am having trouble with my front chains so I took them off. I really need 2" front spacers, but I am too cheap to buy them. I guess I will plow in 2 wheel drive for the rest of the winter.

Ran most engines in barn for a winter warmup. Missed little Massey.
Then crawled under Honda pilot.
Could not get oil plug loose with impact, socket not quite square and pops off.
While under there, noticed something not attached that should be attached. Called shop up the road, will take it in Friday. They will also change oil.

Kids watching Diehard. My oldest has to watch every Christmas. I’m getting ready to make Jambalaya for supper.

Plowing all done. I am having trouble with my front chains so I took them off. I really need 2" front spacers, but I am too cheap to buy them. I guess I will plow in 2 wheel drive for the rest of the winter.

I had to go and scrape a nuisance 3-5 inch snow fall today, I don't mount my front chains unless we have a severe ice storm forecast or my driveway has gotten a hard packed snow cover on it. So I'm running just rear chains and 4wd. Being in 4wd helps in the corners especially when I brake steer with the front end pulling.

A lovely midnight Christmas service last night. Home by 0025.

Today will be a Christmas gathering with my neighbours this arvo.
