Drinking first cup of hot coffee. -9° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 11° with cloudy skies. Yesterday's conserve energy went away early. Neighbors that are on vacation asked me to check their house for any problems. Found that second bathroom toilet valve had failed. Causing continuous flow of water for weeks. Shut water off until they get home. Another neighbor need to have car keys delivered to hospital so they get home. Got that done then cleaned driveway so husband could be brought to go on Hospice. He has been fighting liver cancer for 4 years. Rest of the day was spent staying warm. Going to try to get a conserve energy day in today.

11 going to 24. Coldest January in memory. We got no snow here, but my sister in Virginia Beach got 3 to 4 last night.

Ron, good that you found that valve...happened to us before and ran the well dry, temporarily.
We had a plumbing problem yesterday that went beyond my skills, and we were fortunate enough to get a plumber here within 3 hours. All better now.

Good morning, the low is -6 and going up to 10°F. Wind ESE 7 mph. Flurries.
I am told that any of the clear alcohols (Vodka, Gin,Tequila, Rum) are sugar free. I suppose Moonshine is one of them too, IF you can make it anymore.
I think today other than going out and checking the oil tank I will be conserving energy.

I think most of us are really, really cold
I'd whine about the 0 degrees here right now, but Ron's
birds are shivering more than mine
Don's temps are worse, he has vegetation there that may not be happy with
temps in teens. I'd be in his hot tub in a heart beat.
and when the utility bill comes
charge it to the dust
and let the rain settle it
another day of this polar weather and it starts to warm back to cold vs really cold.
zero desire to go outside in this
however dealership is sending employees to come pick up my expedition and take it back for service,
so I need to get my work order and box of parts set out for them. Lot of stuff for them to do, won't be cheap, but then
I'll have confidence I can tow with it. It was either the Ford dealership or my rv mechanic who was getting the work, and
the other guy has been well taken care of. For a single guy with usually one car, pick up and delivery is a huge convenience.

I have many loads of wash to do, and the basement is really cold

12 outside right now. Heading into the lower 20's and that is it. When the wind, expected, kicks in, it will be a lot colder.
Need to tend to the animals and keep the wood stove going.
Looking forward to warmer weather next week.
Tonight is Dad and Daughters at our favorite sushi place. Been a while for that.

This has been a very cold January. Temps are below the geo system design temps. Bin data does not go negative for this area. The water loops are gaining very little temperature with this extended cold, and with snow on, keeping ground temps down.

11* this morning and like yesterday we won't get above freezing today. We did get a couple of flakes flying but that was it. There will be sun though.
Too cold for me!! Except for 2 dog walks that were brief and fast paced that was it for the day
I suspect today will bring much of the same
