Today was my wife’s birthday

The gang is leaving later this morning and then begins the cleanup !

Billy, glad you got all that wood split ! I need to put some more wood up for next year here also !

Bill, I’m sure your employer misses your being there ! Good drivers are hard to find !

Good Morning
29° with a high of 50 predicted under a clear sky.

Not much new to report other than having to adjust to Daylight Savings Time, however my adjustment will be tempered by moving one time zone west for the upcoming week, putting me back to what I’m used to.

The best part is that I get to ride to Wichita in the back of a private jet, which is a much nicer place to be than where I usually sit. I get to sit back and enjoy the WiFi. 4 of us are going to recurrent training, myself, my partner and our sons. The next generation will occupy the pointy end of the plane for the ride out, and my partner and I can pretend that we are bigwigs in the back.

I printed some stuff that I downloaded,I am amazed at 3D printed ball bearings that actually work. There is a bearing built into this gear.

All the parts went together to build this filament rewinder. I used ABS for the moving parts I kto see what it was like to work with compared to the PLA.

I’ve got to get going and see what I can get accomplished before I leave for the airport this afternoon.

19F clear sky now clouding late afternoon low 30's for high,least high gusty winds no longer.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...like to putter outside not sure weather etc. will allow,replace on/off fan switch furnace blower motor,other than that it's all ????'s.

headed back to the barn after digging holes for new garden fence 13 years ago this day
I really liked this tractor. Was one I gave to my church and when I came home seven years later found out it had
been sold for scrap aka $600. Wasn't much of a bottom to my disappointment on that one.
it had become a nonrunner due to neglect

and then I was lied to about it, the lie was allowed to stand, and my relationship with my church was put on hold because of it.
I didn't care about the loss of value, so be it. I cared about not telling me the truth.
But being right would have created a huge commotion and in the end it would not have been worth it.
have to look for greater good and not individual redemption.
in my own way, make love not war

so this tractor's demise caused a rift with my church.
not our normal tractor story
worse, it was a really nice tractor
so that's the part I intend to remember
my first one, you always remember her...

Good morning TBN!!
39 this morning with high of about 55. Rain possible overnight.

Time change may work for me this time. Time is aligning with my crappy sleep pattern
Not to much yesterday. Puttered with the cart and in general around the garage. Need to finish it so I can clean up the mess!
Got the dog out for a walk and then a run on the 4 wheeler. Let him rest for a few minutes then fought with him for a bath.
Still no tank but I have higher expectations for this week. Temps to be in the mid to upper 70s and no rain after tomorrow.

Late start so I will poor a second cup and get moving.

six years ago potatoes going in
everything was a month earlier in NC
all those potatoes were cut up by myself in at least quarters
and ready to be planted
soft sandy soil, easy to make a planting row
lot of potatoes, all went to the local food pantry.
mostly red potatoes, they grew wonderfully and I gave them
plenty of fertilizer.
this was third and last year doing potatoes

was a tight fit with the tractor getting through that tree line back to barn
if you look at top white part of first stake on left, opening is just to left of there.

for a guy used to granite, shale and roots,
this sandy soil was just pure heaven.

Morning all, 43 going to 55 and sunny.
Back from San Diego, did not get much free time, either with dad or my uncle.
Hospice nurses not sure how dad is still alive, he has not eaten in a week or more.
Uncle is weak, but still very sociable, got him to agree to PT 2 x week to get his strength up since he fell again a few days before I got to SD. He is bruised but ok, he can stand and get around on roller/walker a bit. His back brace is off, so that is an improvement.

Spent day upon day getting dads bills paid, his GF has no idea what to do and is quite lost.
Brother got their car insurance and house insurance back from not being paid.
I got their property taxes paid and got dads paperwork to accountant, not sure what's been done since 2021, which is last filing doc I found .....
Got her to pay bills, bank trips for her to do Power of Attorney on accounts. Lots of driving and paperwork.
Said goodbye to dad Friday, not sure if I will see him ever again.

Took one morning to take a walk by Hotel Del Coronado to clear my mind. Only free time I took all week.
