Good morning to all who celebrate! 39° going to a high of 67°, sunny, some frost on the truck this morning.
Prayers for all those facing illness, difficult to read about, but I'm praying for good outcomes for all!
Weekend was a busy one, white pine fell up at Grandma's cabin. Missed the cabin by about 4". Grandpa was definitely guiding that one. Their strange neighbor wanted the wood, bucked into 9' sections and then the rest bucked into firewood. I took one look at the tree and knew I wasn't going to be the one loading those 9' sections onto his trailer by hand.
500i made short work of the pine, like a hot knife through butter. By the time most of the help arrived, pine was already bucked up and the logs rolled off to the side for the neighbor to collect later. I did not partake in the sweep-up, having lost my breakfast from grunting those logs onto the side. Trailer for the tractor looks better every time I have to move something heavy by hand. Was rewarded with a hearty vegetable stew and ham sandwich.
Speaking of tractor, hydro oil was not needed, but the oil will need changed. Only off by about 50 hours. Whoops. Oil filter, replacement oil, funnel and drain pan on order. Will replace this week. While doing research on locating dipstick, found out that the front axle of tractor could potentially be low on oil as well. Need to check that and then pick up oil for that potentially. Parents shove off for the seashore this Wednesday, so I'll be left to my own dangerous devices. Dad doesn't want to invest in a mini-ex to dig the stump out "That'll make a mess." Ok, don't blame me when the grinder launches a wood splinter through the sliding glass door then. Plan on some plywood and packing blankets to protect siding and doors instead.
Today we're buttoning up loose ends before heading off for the two day manager's meeting. I'm sure this will be...interesting.
Remaining items: Potentially purchase the mower, replace tractor oil, pick up suppressor, get through this work week.
Have a great week y'all and stay safe out there!
Prayers for those ailing and recovering and especially those caretaking! It's no easy task!
