Good morning TBN!!
34 this morning . Push 80 under full sun later.
Hmm. I think I missed posting yesterday. You didn't miss much here at the Lazy L.
Been working on making my shop kinda portable. I have been trying various options for cutting the tank to see what I like best. Went to HF to get a Sawzall as battery power won't work and that's all I had.
It works but would take forever. Then I tried my 41/2" cuttoff. It was a bit faster but had it burn up. Literally. Flamed out in my hands. A first for me. Next up the torch. Did well and maybe the way I go for at least some of it. I have to consider fuel with the torch though. Last up was the plasma cutter. It will probably be my first choice. Had a bad ground and a split hose I didn't know about. It cut reasonably well anyway. Will try that again today after correction the issues. One way or another there will be a lot of time going in to it.
Got plenty of steps in except these steps tend to start and end with getting on or off the tractor!!
Wife off to HF to get me a new cutoff this morning.
Today HF has 30% off all grinders. Bigger ones, smaller ones and bench grinders. I may get 2 :)
Getting light and warming up so

Time for a second cup. Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good Morning
32° and will double that for the high under a cloudless sky.

Yesterday kept me busy, I did get the laser pointer finished and tested-

Loaded grain into the barn, did the service call, and got the pork belly smoked. Didn’t get it out of the smoker until 11 pm though.

Today I’ve got to drive to Allentown and fly with the pilot for the guy that bought one of our Cheyenne 400’s.

Not sure how long that will take, but I’m budgeting the whole day.

Good morning! 67˚F heading to the upper 70 with NW wind and sunny skies, cold front is blowing in after yesterday's 80s.

The "Farm" had a decent crowd yesterday with spring break this week. Baby animals is still the drawing event till Mother's Day.
The "Farm" is planting two new Christmas tree fields and hooking up a new irrigation system to them.

the Tulip field is spent and dying from the heat. The 200,000 tulips bulbs will not be salvaged for next years crop they will rot in the field. Talking to the owner she explained the steps to harvest bulbs and cold store them for transplant and it was time and labor extensive and not practical in the Texas heat.

The new pool pump computer board is bad and I'll be on the phone today.

The painters started spray washing the house last night in prep to start painting this morning.

Remember the Dig World I posted a few days ago, They are expanding with help from the TV show Shark Tank.

Hang in there Buppies, always good to hear from you.

Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy early then becoming cloudy with periods of rain this afternoon. High 53F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 80%.
A closer look at the hourly forecast seems to indicate the rain won't get here until almost quittin' time. So another day for productive outdoor activities, like working on the fire truck. Yesterday, Drew, I installed a barbed fitting into the drain hole of the old gas tank and hooked up a 20' length of fuel line, then crawled around under the truck threading it to the engine compartment. I thought I'd brought a ton of zip ties to secure it, but in the jumbled mess of the van, couldn't find 'em. More on that later.
Very simple controls which is what I like. However it cost 3 times the cheapest one
I looked at Speed Queen when I was shopping for a new washer/dryer combo last year. Couldn't find anywhere I could go and see one, and the price, as you mentioned, was all out of proportion with what you got. The LG combo at the old house is fifteen years old and still going strong, so I ordered the current equivalent LG combo from HD and had them in a week. If the jerk delivery guys hadn't dented the dryer, that would have been the end of the story. Had to wait for a replacement, which took another week. Fingers crossed the new ones hold up like the old ones. You never know these days, and the reliability ratings of all the makes I checked were mediocre at best.

That's a tough row to hoe, Buppies. Hope you get some good news on a path forward from the doctors today.

Realtor showed up right on time yesterday morning and got busy hiding stuff from sight for the photographer. He even ran the sweeper and dusted the kitchen counter! The photo guy was pretty young, toted a massive digital camera and a non-DJI drone, and spent three or four hours wandering around shooting. I stayed out of the way fininshing off the gravel pile by spreading it on the driveway. Made kind of a muddy mess as the gravel was wet, as were some spots on the driveway, but rolling over it with the tractor and then back dragging with the bucket had it looking OK, but not perfect. Don't really need any more rain at this point, but I don't think the forecasted 0.1" will do any harm.

Monkeyed with the fire truck for a couple hours, but stopped when I couldn't find the zip ties I needed. Switched over to spreading Preen pre-emergent, and got all 60 lbs. put out. That got me over 10,000 steps for the day, but I wasn't quite done. The photographer came back at about 7 PM to work in the sunset "golden hour", and after that I had to un-hide all the stuff from this morning. Pizza, a salad, and a beer was a very late dinner.

Realtor comes back this morning to pick up a signed listing agreement, which I've neither read nor signed yet, so that's #1 on today's list. Probably spend the rest of the day back on the firetruck. All the fooling around with lights for the photographer shows I haven't gotten all the bugs out yet, so will have to make some time for them, too.

Happy Hump Day, folks...

Watched the splash down and recovery. Was amazing...happy for the rescued astronauts.

101...wow! Will you get a recording of the TV interview?
It’s online, so I recorded off my computer screen. But they managed to get several things wrong, like wrong day for his bday, they said he was drafted when he had enlisted. But still nice interview and story.

Morning all, 35 up to 70 and sunny.
More paperwork and calls today, going ok so far.

Did call dads GF and did not go too bad, she is still in shock, so we feel for her.

Buppies - hope Dr. visits go great. Now that the Mrs. has Dr help, hoping that reduces her and your anxiety. We can certainly listen and understand that this is emotional, praying for good outcomes.

Wngsprd - can't believe Della is a year old. Glad she loves the trails and you have a great companion.

101 - not many make it and his ability to go through interviews shows some really good genes and great his mental capacity is still so good.

More paperwork, accountants etc. Glad my brother is helping and doing a lot of the big stuff.

Did not get any time to be out in the yard, maybe today to get some tree parts moved, maybe even split some wood. Did prep one large trunk that I may plank. Still need to finish join for the table I am making for my friend. Ordered a punch and chisel set from Northern tool. Wood chisels I have not very good on metal :)

Be well

Back from the town/vampire run. Washed the salt off the Dodge and did a crappy job of it when you look close. A 60 mph wash job.
I have never known what my blood type is other than some Blue mixed with Orange and Green. Mother was a 1st generation Canadian born of blue blood parents. I am 5th generation Orange/Green born right here in Ontario, Canada.
So I got them to check that too.

Hang in there Buppies.

67°F and 0 rain.

3 days min to get my hydraulic links new seals and only if in inventory on Oahu.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

successful day starting with hooking rv up to water and not finding one leak. Amazing.
then with great difficulty planted three J&P roses through very rocky ground. Started using planting auger
on Makita cordless drill to give me a center hole to dig around. Sure miss not having a phd but with motorhome there,
no room. Then appliance folks came and brought my new washing machine. That is now running and will continue for awhile
as I catch up.

am hoping by end of summer this will be a wall of roses, red on left, yellow in center and pink on the right.

time to put my feet up.

Worked on the deck some more, got 2 new rail posts in, very securely fasted do the joists, unlike the old rail posts.... That original deck guy should have been fired. Once all new rail posts are on, then can start replacing deck boards.
Will order brackets to attach railing Sorry pic was sideways..flipped it .

Good Evening,
Did prep one large trunk that I may plank.
Hi Ken, is the log poplar or something else ? In any event good luck with that project.

Buppies, thinking of you and your wife 🙏

Popgadget, nice idea for the laser pointer.

Thomas, enjoy that smooth cigar before the weather changes. 😉

Hope all have a good evening 🙏

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 13.0C and it's presently 31.0C! Fairly clear and calm.

Well, my plumber called and had to pull out of the Church guttering job due to other work commitments. He said that he'd send me the number of an alternate plumber... that's the problem with living in a small rural town, it's only big enough to support 'just so many' tradesmen.

Still nothing back from the tree-trimmer/arborist. Same 'small town' situation.

Nothing really 'on' for today. I do have an evening dinner/meeting to attend.

That's about it, take care all.

Good evening all. 54ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, windy. Very windy, peaked at 30-45 mph, variable cloudiness, high temp at 3AM as front went through. Warmest daylight temp was 57ºF, and low temp forecast to be 46ºF at 11:5 PM. Made coffee to start day, Men's meeting, then start organizing thank you notes to finish those. Trip to town for lunch HD for trailer bunk hardware, and groceries. While at Chick-fil-A, little girl came up to me and asked if I wanted a hug, then gave me one. High point of my day :) Too windy to ride outside, did get nap in and dinner with group.
Massyrider Thanks, usually takes about 1.5 hours, just do it all at once. This is one of the few places where if people can't say something positive then they don't say anything :)!!
Massyrider I was fortunate with my wife she was laid back about a lot of stuff! We could work out a schedule amiable to both of us. Hope pruning goes well. Hope the roads loose their salt soon. Very windy here.
NHBX Glad you were able to accomplish more than anticipated. Mice tulips are coming up. Hope lawn was firm enough for tractor work.
Ron sorry no progress on roof. Nice boards and no nail holes :) Hope pond cleanup goes well. Nice mallard pic
Buppies no fun being the domestic goddess. It is a bigger transition to a new life routine when losing a partner to dementia or death then most people realize. It is going to take a while. If you get an opportunity to go to grief share or counseling try it. Ann loved to mow as well. Hope Holly visit goes well, will Dr be there during visit? Nice cars :) Prayers sent
Buppies good to talk about it. Good to hear you don't feel as helpless. If my experience is any indication will be awhile before you are marriage material.
Buppies good to see you feeling better !!! Now if you could just sleep.
Drew good morning, few people know what it's like for spouse to have serious health issues or die. Talking is great therapy, help a lot of people thinks about the changes that are going on or have happened.
Billy glad you got a good hike in yesterday. Happy birthday Della.
Billy great pic.
Bill miserable weather. Hope ice less than predicted. Hope dump run and vampire visit went well. When critters found duck nest they just abandoned it. Second attempt at nesting was abandoned before eggs laid.
Phil sorry to hear pellet stove on strike. Hope new igniter gets it back in operation. Hope you can get tree taken care of before it falls. Hope inspiration returns.
Mike good to hear progress. A cord is a lot of wood to split in on day, even with a splitter.
Thomas hope Mrs Dr appointment went well.
Scott(vt) hope good day at work. When I retired started singing won't get fooled again, especially the " meet the new boss, same as the old boss..." did not get high praise.
Happy(NC) Hope you get plasma cutting correctly. Hope progress on cutting the tank ends off.
Paul nice work on laser pointer. Got a lot done yesterday. Hope flight goes smoothly.
Don glad Farm is doing well. In Kansas they can get 2-3 years from tulip planting, at St Charles house got 5+ years from 2 bulbs. Sorry to hear new board bad, hope you can get a good one. I think I know where you are going for vacation, nearest Dig world ;)
Frits hope Speed Queen doing well. Hope good news from podiatrist, and grocery pickup successful.
