Will be about $260/tire for the jeep, will go on next week during inspection.
Wife got some fancy tires on her Buick $281 each  last spring.

I recall when I started driving $35 each for winter snow tires but they were recaps, never had problems.

Bill, I was trying to give you more credit, make this more interesting...
like the ground just swallowed me up like a giant snow monster

Those Blizzaks will be wonderful and keep you safer.

grey, misty and not very inviting outside.
will do wash instead
Speaking of snow monsters, the rain that was happening this morning turned into ice pellets and now snow. About an inch so far.
The Toyo GSIs I've got are 7 years old. I haven't really liked them from day one, but I am too cheap to buy a set (4) tires and if I don't like them to buy something else and scrap the new ones from the year before.
When I had the Jeep Wrangler I ran almost exclusively Pro-Comp 30x9.5x15" . They were a good Mud&Snow tire even without the snow tire designation that the insurance companies want now. The one and only time I got stuck with the Jeep, I 'high centered' it lengthwise. At the time it was still stock except for the Pro-comps. The following summer I changed the differentials to 4:56 LSD in the front and still kept the open diff (4:56) in the rear. If it hadn't been for the frame going all to pot I was going to put a locker (Lincoln) in the rear. Like I said, I am cheap.

can't believe the tire prices you guys are throwing around. But on that note, my verizon cell bill just increased another $40 this month, no changes in the plan, but a price increase on existing.

Got my 6" GRK screws from amazon, and put a few in the deck. They really sucked in the lumber.
This morning was church meeting for breakfast, so had a good breakfast and no lunch.

light rain now, up to .11". Son in heavy rain coming home from work.

   / Good morning!!!! #204,746
Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.3C and it's presently 16.7C, overcast & the odd breeze. There was 2.3mm in the gauge @ 0900.

Last evenings meal/meeting was nice. A good 'catch up' with friends. I was home fairly early (1945).

I need to wander into town to the PO. Perhaps I'll get some dhobi done.

That's about it, take care all.

   / Good morning!!!! #204,747
tire prices? I'll meet you and raise to 329 a tire for 285-22 all season Pirellis.
I'd much rather have 18 inch rims and tires, but even then the good brands were in the high 2's for cost.
mucho buckos
I think there are at least half a dozen good less expensive tire companies, most in Japan and South Korea.
I have Hankooks on my rv and they have been excellent. Vredestein, Nokian and Falken also make well rated tires.
and I think Cooper has gotten a lot better, but also a lot more expensive.

I absolutely remember when spending more than a hundred dollars on a tire was "a lot".
But I have found through scaring myself a few times hydroplaning that every penny spent on tires
was well worth it today.

nice dinner with sister, the normal high end salmon, but she doesn't cook it enough for me.
it was such high quality stuff that I'm sure you could eat it raw, but the thick parts were too squishy
for me. Before I left home to go there, I cut a small vase full of my first daffodils and other spring flowers and took them with me.
that was a hit.

after successfully dodging one deer on rt 29, was happy to get home.
as I crossed over to PA the sprinkles started.
raining pretty good now.
good weather to sleep by...

Good morning,
41° now, highs mid 40’s and am rain, winds NW 15-25 mph gusts 30+ mph.

Quiet day yesterday, Mrs didn’t feel like going out so just puttered around. Today probably the same. Need to get serious about getting taxes done, hate doing taxes.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

Drinking hot cup of coffee. 21° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 52° with mix of sun clouds and winds. Yesterday was a good Michigan weather day. Rain, Snow, Wind and a touch of Sun. Got started on my double door mailbox upgrade. Put house numbers on it. May get it installed today after I get back from grocery shopping.

Morning all!
44 and raining. This will be the high temp for the day. Dropping to 30 tonight.

New ignitor has the pellet stove humming along. Easy to install once you know how. Only issue is being an insert type it has to be removed from the fire place. Quite heavy even with the proper removal tools. Records show it was last changed in 2019 so I should be good for a while.

A few more hours doing outside cleanup. Another 5 loads in the wheelbarrow. I need to replace this with a two wheel one if we stay here much longer.

Going to play in the shop today. I did get two projects finished up in the last couple days.
Cedar urn I made for a friend.

always interesting to see how I/we are tracked by the bots and AI.
talked about this particular tire yesterday, today it shows up as a tire rack ad on this page.

Phil, beautiful urns. Takes good planning to have your own urn made ahead of time.
save the good burl for your own...

wind is making the woods play its song

42 and breezy, going to 60. Good rain yesterday afternoon.

BEF, are GRK screws special or just another brand of deck screw? I had not seen them before. I have always used just plain star drive deck screws.

Scotty, with all that for, are you sure the ferry didn't take you to London instead of Long Island? 😁 Enjoy your trip!

Buppies, real nice the deputy came by your place.

Split and stacked firewood yesterday, and did a little tractor maintenance.

Good Morning from Central Texas.

At 5:15am, 36.9 degrees headed for 76 today with more WIND. The last week or two the wind has been howling every day. We are getting desperate for some meaningful rainfall.
Plan *was* to head to Lake Somerville for some wade fishing. But with the current Norther, wind and cold I decided against it.
Hope all have a great day.

39 outside this AM, heading to upper 50's. Windy. Some storms blew through last evening, chased me away from splitting wood. It was all good as I was tuckered out anyways. Reached the point of 1/2 full in the "wood shed". Had to start the ZTR and move it to an outbuilding in the back. First start of the year for it. Grasses look to be almost ready to start cutting. Managed to get the tractor to the burn pile and move some stuff around. On the way back to the wood pile turned on the bush hog, just because. A nice swath of fresh cut grass was the result.

More splitting and stacking on the agenda. Rough estimate is just over 150 logs to split. Should be busy for some time.

Hope all have a great day and a good start to the weekend. Be safe.

Good morning, the low is 14 and going to a high of 37°F. Wind calm. 60% chance of rain showers or snow. We got 2" yesterday. Another 0.75" coming tonight and again tomorrow.
At least we didn't get what Timmins got, 14" and another 14 coming. Timmins is 4.5 hours north of me.

I am still waiting for a call from my accountant, so I wont stray too far from my phone. Ya, I know it is a cell phone and totally portable, but I have enough crap to carry with me without worrying about a telephone too. I do have to go to town today, but that will be a short trip.

I screen all my phone calls, but in the car the phone is on 'auto answer'. If you don't leave a voice mail you are guaranteed I will NOT call back.

You can pretty much be guaranteed that everything that can be bought in Canada that is made in the U.S. will be at least 25-50% more expensive. That is nothing new. This has been going on for 60 years that I know of. Example; A Chev car that is made totally in Oshawa, ON is 50% more expensive than that same car made in Oshawa and bought in Rochester, NY. Why not buy in Rochester and import it? Because you MUST own it for one year or more BEFORE you import it to Canada. In the meantime to buy in NY you gotta prove a NY address AND register the car in NY. If you use the excuse that you just moved to Canada then you have 3 months to safety the car AND register it in Canada. When you register it is when they will 'get' you, with the 'duty', which will end up being more that if you bought the dam thing in Oshawa.
When my grandparents came back up here their car was a part of 'personal effects'. It was six years old.
It was built totally in the 'states.

Time to get on with my day.

Have a safe day all
