Poured first cup of coffee. 18° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 42° with occasional rain. Sassy got her walk in yesterday. Started making mailbox mounting blocks for neighbor. Then found I did not not have enough of matching material. Scraped that plan and started cutting King Starboard. Got started but ran out of time. Went to mailbox to get the mail. Hard to break old habits. Used the road side door. Going to take some practice to break a 50 year habit. No plans for today yet.

Good morning,
26° now, winds have been howling all night
Today sunny and windy. High 41F. Winds NW 20-30 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.

Managed to wash and vacuum wife’s car yesterday, that was about it for the day. Picked up roast beef sandwiches for supper.

Not sure about today with the wind, probably just conserve energy.

Mostly - prayers for your BIL

Happy Birthday to Sophie and to Fuddys dad.

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

good morning all
slow start this morning
cold sunny day
got enough done last few days it's time for me to chill.
for me, life begins at 50 degrees outside. As windy as it has been,
feels a lot colder.
but a slow warmup is coming, I see one more cold night in ten day.
I had thermal covers on some seedlings last night. Once sun comes up, I take them
off

woodpeckers rat a tatting on a tree nearby.
considering what we know about head injuries from boxing and football,
those birds must have some extra brain cushioning.
or they sure don't get any smarter over time... ;)

that big beautiful pileated woodpecker that was wrecking my front stumps
is going to arrive and be most annoyed. No more stumps. Will be interesting to see
if he tracks down the last two remaining stumps.

hope you all have a nice Sunday.

Good morning, the low is 3 and going to a high of 30°F. Wind N 1 mph. Sunny! Snow coming tonight 0.75" then tomorrow another 4". That will probably be the end of winter, but I never sell March short.

Ron, you bird is thinking, "what is that one eyed thing staring at me?"

Have a safe day all

Typhoid neighbour has gifted me a cold/flu/covid something.
Started yesterday. Low level headache top of the head. Runny schnoz, phlegmy throat but dry cough occasional sneezing fit. No appreciable fever.
I don't know if it's related but all night I had to pee every 45+- minutes. Like a solid stream, not the old man dribble I hear about. Usually I'm good once or twice a 8+ hour night.
Last week we got ever so close to 80F, currently 25F and lucky to make 35F with a sun/cloud cover.
Chance of showers over night and strong winds by Monday morning.
Hope everyone feels better than me today.
I need my Mommy back to make me some chicken noodle soup.

Good morning! 68˚F heading to 92˚ with S Wind, but a cold front is heading this way tonight and we will be back in the 50˚ to 80˚ tomorrow.

Did 5 hours at the "farm" on a busy Saturday. Each trailer load was about half full (30 people) with people waiting at each stop. The only draw was bottle feeding the baby animals. ($11 a bottle sold out of time slots) Starting next week are the easter egg hunts. The strawberry fields will be open in two weeks and the Sunflowers were being irrigated for the mid Summer Sunflower festival. They were just planted yesterday in the tulip field.

Only had one emergency stop when a child decided to have a pouting session in the middle of the road in front of me. He never looked at the noisy tractor, Dad came and removed him from the road. That's why I go 3.2 MPH in that crowded section on the "farm".

Yesterday was also late to the trailer day. Each and every time I was getting ready to leave the pick-up stops some-one was waving and running to get on board. Of course I waited for them, I am not a cruise ship. :giggle:

Good Morning from Central Texas,
Nearly 7am, 67.5 degrees with Dew Point of 66. Headed for mid 80's with a chance of severe weather late night. Had (2) rounds of hail last week with one of these fronts. Nothing damaging thank goodness.

The news reports Boeing is the winner for the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) aircraft. Currently called the F-47, the (6th generation) new aircraft design was developed in part through the DARPA (Defense Advances Research Projects Agency) X-plane design experimental aircraft flying the last several years.
Of course faster, stealthier and longer range are among the goals. What does it look like ? Unknown what the final design will look like, but one artist rendering:

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 5:30AM. Mostly sunny. High 73F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

I think I saw 11 MPH on the tractor yesterday while riding it up to help a neighbor. Not a good idea to hit any bumps at that speed, and the road was full of them...

Got four oaks dragged down to the burn pile yesterday. Still have two more to go, but they're pretty big and will have to come out in pieces. Lots of poison oak sprouts on the ground to spice things up.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Morning all, 33 going to 50 and sunny.
Lots of wind last night, more branches to collect.

Got 4 trees transplanted, one was tough to get out and I'm a bit sore today.

Did take the dog into town and visited the son at work. The river looks to be about normal height.
Still need to get a picture of the bridge at night, heard they added a lot of lights.

Scotty - tasting room at Pindar looks like I remember it, I remember seeing quite a few of the tasting rooms get built, glad you had a good time.

Phil, you have a great eye and make some amazing wood turnings.

BEF dad 101 and Fuddy mom 98, got some good genes there! . Happy birthdays.

Not sure what's up for today. Rain coming later.

Sons GF birthday, he has a whole day planned out :)

Be well,
Not sure if this one will survive transplant, but I tried anyway, don't need another tree in this garden

Glad they opened this pathway along the river, certainly a nice place to sit for spell under the sun

RNG, quite the spectacle going on in LA
as an old fireman doing a controlled burn on chemicals and explosives in a
residential neighborhood must have been a tough call. And they can't put water on the fire
since some of the chemicals in the illegal fireworks factory are reactive to water.

no, your homeowners will not pay...

just outside of Lahaska locally is the old Roeser farm off Street Road with some
big outbuildings. 50 years ago operating under an old zoning grandfather clause,
a guy who tested rubber compounds there had a fire. New Hope Eagle fire co
responded as mutual aid to Midway Fire co in Lahaska. I was on third truck in
and helped pull a line off our truck up to this large building with big doors and a fire
blazing away inside. And then it got fun.
kaboom
kaboom out the doors flew a 30 gallon drum of sorts on fire blazing blue fire
kaboom, out flew another drum blazing yellow sailing up into the air
we couldn't get our airpacs on fast enough.
Additive chemicals of some sort, all likely toxic as could be.
would never pass zoning under current standards, much less building codes.

I believe the rubber testing business was shut down permanently after that.

Ken, really nice pic of the bridge. It's no wider but nice to know it won't fall in now.
8000 pound limit is new, much lower. Electrician's loaded dually trucks are heavier than that.
so heavier trucks have to use the other bridge, a toll of course. This one is free.

Another red flag day weather pattern not bringing us rain This afternoon visit Holly always enjoy that. Did not go to bed till 2:00AM been up since 7:30 oh my.

Only 40 percent chance of rain tomorrow then wind rest of week more fires I’m sure.

Nice picture Ken, good deed Don

Prayers for all our Country

RNG, quite the spectacle going on in LA
Not the first time, Drew. A few years ago up in Redding, CA the sheriff had a house burned down after an old guy lost a finger or two in an explosion. When the cops got there and went inside, they quickly backed out after they saw rows and rows of shelves packed with all kinds of volatile and explosive goodies.
