Prayers for all our Country

Beautiful work Phil

Good Morning
42° and a mix of fog, mist and drizzle out there. Supposed to warm up to 70 with thunderstorms later in the day.

Yesterday was used up by getting a colonoscopy, had four polyps removed, but otherwise good. Tuesday, I got the pad for the shed leveled and stoned before the prep for yesterday’s adventure. The prep is definitely the worst part.

It was really too wet to do the pad, I made a bit of a mess, but was careful to minimize it. The shed comes next week, at least I’m ready for it now.

Don’t have a real plan for today, be interesting to see what comes up.

Good Morning,
Vt, 40 to start going to 63. Raining now, and last night I woke up to a thunderstorm about 2:30am. I could hear the rain pounding the roof. Hopefully I can get some work in this afternoon.

The last 2 mornings I woke up to the kitchen area being cold. We have a Dovre Heatilator DV 750LP stove , but for some reason the stove is not going on when the thermostat goes below the set temperature. I’m thinking either the gas valve is sticking or a faulty thermopile. Wish PopG was here, I’m sure he could diagnose the problem. I believe I can buy the replacement parts online but it would be nice to know exactly what the problem is first.

Today will be a slow start with the rain this morning. My body is pretty tired from the last couple of days. 😉

Hope all have a good day 🙏

I believe it's a B, and 1939, one of the first two hundred made.
Thanks. I see the "B" on the serial number plate but the tractor looks exactly like my "A" did. So now I'm just confused. This is a non-working tractor for the kids to play on at the "Adventure Farm". I wanted to get a sign in front of it describing it. Year, model, general uses back then. The "B" s I see online have the tricycle wheel set up. Were "B"s made with the front wheels in line with the rear wheels also? Drew I have not checked your links yet - next on my agenda.

Good morning! 73˚ S wind heading to the mid 80s cloudy.
The Strawberry patch is open at the Farm. Yesterday when I worked it rained and the only people out there were two school field trips. I had a few filled wagons and only got sprinkled on for about 30 minutes, but the gloomy skies kept the crowds away.

"The Farmall A and B were nearly identical tractors. The A featured an offset engine and wide front end. The B had a centered engine, seat offset to the right, and narrow front end." From Tractor Data.

Someone may have merged parts from one to the other. Based on the offset, it does appear to be an "A" with "B" seat bracket.

Morning all, 47 going to 73 and rain, well at least it's not 31 like yesterday with all this rain.
Some shenanigans this morning when son went to leave, will see what happened later. He was running around with his water gun so I guess it was part of the HS senior assassins thing.

Did get the dogs nails cut yesterday and she got a bone for being not too reasonably calm. Squirmy dog.

More paperwork, still trying to figure out who gets copies of the death cert.

I wish I had pictures of my neighbors IH in MA. The one we learned to drive a tractor on.
Probably still at their house, or rusting in the field. Haven't been up there since before my son was born.
Speaking of MA, my uncle fell again, need to call him today. This day job interferes with life too much

Be well,

Good Morning Don,

I’m thinking that someone replaced the housing to the left of the driver with an A housing. I think engineer pretty much stated the same thing. With the shorter rear housing it would make it look like an A. Really no difference other than that. IMO

good morning, 60 going to 74 small chance of a shower

Picked up 100 stakes from the sawmill. About a dollar a piece. Big operation but the cash sale and change on payment came out of the cookie jar

Flowering Cherry trees were beautiful and all over the place on the trip.

Picked up tree shelters from the plantings and stacked them. Cut a bunch of vines at the base of trees some as big as 2 or 3 inches in diameter

The B’s had the tricycle front. But someone could have changed that over to the wide front like an A.

Back up again. Temperature outside is 44°F and it is raining. There goes my outside work for today. Sometimes I wish I had a walkout to the back yard, then I could drive my work into the basement fix what needed fixin' and not be bothered by the weather.
Back down the rabbit hole...

good morning all
forgot to post this earlier
45 going up into 70's today, very warm with on and off rain.
going to be a wet week, and next week I see two nights below freezing so need to be careful with veggies.
some of my bean seeds planted are starting to come up and they for sure need nighttime protection.

headed out early to return rental car after gassing it up, and then hope not to wait too long before shuttle bus takes me back
to Ford dealer to get my truck. Then off to Home Depot for four more bags of mulch, and home to plant rose bushes.
I also need to assemble chairs for fire pit set

well I'm home and it started drizzling right when I got the bags of mulch into the car, and raining when I got home.
will leave them in there til it stops.
along the way I saw landscape guys out working in the rain.
not me
but I might work between the raindrops...

reading the dealer's service invoice is interesting.
reminds me of medical code billing where folks get creative.
seems they replaced the trans control assembly for 1350 bucks.
and then they said there were codes in driver's seat, and they found the harness was
broken, and replaced that for 600 bucks.

so with my expected 200 deductible paid plus a free rental car, which honestly was a pain,
car ran fine on way home.

looking at radar, think I might have a rain break soon, want to go plant the rose tree.
which, sigh, first means digging up one of the roses I already planted out front, and then move hole over by two feet.
likely planted too close to driveway anyway but I'm usually walking around with clippers in my pocket.

at least it's warming up. If I'm getting wet and muddy, at least be warm...

interesting experience at Home Depot as skies got darker and darker and I was motivated to get in and out of there.
went to the 4 for 10 buck mulch pile and no sale sign any more, now 3.69 a piece. Sigh. Stuff next to it 5 for 10 dollars.
wrong color. Wanted this to match so bought same stuff I got before. So I wasted six bucks but that's chump change to the savings
from not paying the landscapers 600 bucks to do this.

first bag I picked up split at end and spilled, making a mess.
Second bag did same thing. Bigger mess.
I pulled from another spot and got four bags that didn't spill.

got to checkout. Nice lady mentioned did I see the sale on the other mulch?
yes, thank you I did, but I need this to match.
very nice of her to look out after me.

rain stopped, time to get muddy

Found another item that I have missing for a few days. A hose for pond vacuum. All the cleaning in back barn is catching up with me. Items put away in best place are hiding from me. This morning I went out with a flashlight to look for hose. Instead of turning barn lights on. I used flashlight. First cabinet I opened shined light on all 4 shelves. There was the hose on bottom shelf. I am sure I looked in that cabinet before. A new hose has already been shipped. Is there a course available for seniors on how properly find things? 👀🤠
I have often used a flashlight to search for something even when there is plenty of light...seems to make me more slowly focus on a spot rather than skimming over quickly.

Glad you found it.

Hope you get it fixed. That stove shape and window looks almost identical to our old wood burning stove, a Vermont Castings Resolute we bought in 1980...except ours was black cast iron.

by the time I was finished I was muddy from head to toe, but tree rose planted in front
and new rose garden finished in rear.
cloudy out and slowly warming, more light rain this afternoon

66°F and no rain. Getting dry

Disappointing PO run yesterday. One item is that FedEx/PO combo shipping. Tracking stops once USPS gets it.

No major plans for the morning. Did get dogs area done for them.

We host H&F this afternoon. Honey Garlic chicken on the menu. Also gonna attempt Kabocha squash fritters.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
