Good Morning from Central Texas.
At 5:15am, have 73.9 degrees with a 73.6 Dew point. One very light shower a few minutes ago. Hoping for more !
Headed out to look at a gravel place today. Want to get some "small" driveway stone to top coat. This is very difficult to find around here. Finding something 1" or less with binder is tough.
Hope all enjoy their day !

early April and I was harvesting my first crop in NC, bok choy.
like spinach, intensely green healthy plants
folks at the food pantry loved those greens
plus collards and okra and lettuce.
after handpicking one ton of collards I gave up, back couldn't handle the stoop labor
but loved to pick okra, would follow those pods up the stalk, each one coming in a little higher, until
plant was ten feet tall and you had to bend it down to get the veggies on top.
those were good times.

Morning all!
Currently an unheard of for here 58! Nice for nighttime temps here! Going to a high of 60. Today is a dry day between 5 total and 2 more coming.

Drew I have a bunch of those targets. Doesn't mean a thing. I shoot at little paper plates now as they are much cheaper.
Good do nothing day yesterday! Hands feel better this morning.
Concert last night was good. Found out they have one more before school ends. They also play at our Memorial day services.
That's all for now.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning,
Vt, 40 to start going to 58. Looks like the sun will come out but a little early to tell.

This morning I will get another board or two down and cleanup for lack of the jig saw 😉

Have you done a search on your stove model to try and find trouble shooting ideas?
Mostly, yes I did find some interesting YouTube videos. I also plan on ordering a new pilot assembly very soon.
Add meter to list of things to bring to VT
Yes Ron, thanks will do 😁
Scotty, deck progress looking good.
Thanks Billy, I’m pretty happy with what I got done in 3 days. Getting up the old decking was time consuming, and the lower back can only take so much at 73. 😉

Will clean the place up this morning so when we get back on Sunday , Kathleen doesn’t complain too much. 😉

Hope all have a great day and weekend 🙏

Good morning, the low is 31 and going to 48°F. Wind NW 8 mph. Foggy and then clearing.

Dump/town run, then down to Huntsville,ON to vote. I tried the vote by mail thing and it wouldn't accept my registration so I will vote in person. I am certainly NOT standing in line at the polling station on THE day when I can do it this way.
I have to go to Huntsville anyway, the accountant messed up my income tax form and I need to get that corrected BEFORE he e-files it.

That is my day sorted for me.

Scotty, don't forget the meter! ;)

Have a safe day all

good morning, 61 going to 67 rained overnight

made a trip to PO yesterday and took the backroads to and from. Tulip trees in full bloom are beautiful and Cherry trees as well

Need to hook up water hoses to wash off the wheels on the RTV that are caked in mud from yesterday. A better option may be open for the water line down to the barn and use the power washer

67 outside right now, may hit 70. Hit and miss crazy weather.

Busy week, real jobs are real chaos. Home front is managing. Got the mower out for the first cut of the season, yesterday. Then got chased in by the weather. Only 1/2 through.
About 1/2 through tree work in front yard. So far 6 (six) cords filled the wood shed. Yeah, I have a lot of wood. Big heavy stuff. Smashed thumb, pulled groin not bad for all that work.
Here is hoping I can reclaim the front to grasses this weekend. Be positive, right?

Managed to get taxes down to the accountant. LOL.

Hope all have a great day and a good start to the weekend. Be safe.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 55° going to a high of 65°, cloudy and scattered showers forecasted. Boy did we get a world ending thunderstorm last night! Surprisingly no damage that I could see on my way out to the truck this morning.

2/3 meadows brush hogged, 2/2 rabbits evicted temporarily. The old Ford is still running well, touch wood. Got the buck buried. Fun fact, you can use the bucket on a L3901 to crush the year old bones down into the hole to prevent them from coming back up into your tractor tires at a later date. That sure wasn't in the brochure. Some light grapple work to carry away Mom's spring cleanup of her flower beds. The other night at dinner she said the dreaded T word (Tanbark) but you know, with the bucket, we're usually done the same weekend. If only I had that tractor when I was 12....

On the house-hunting front, nothing new came up that particularly struck my interest. But I've been pre-approved for 350k Officially. So that's an upside. Maybe once the pinching from these tariffs comes down, house prices will tumble as well.

Big boss brought us (Corporate) into a meeting, said he had challenged the stores to cut expenses by 10% and that we had to get travel expenses under control...just after they had gotten back from a big powwow somewhere in FLA. Rules for thee, not for me. While it's true freight is slowing down, construction seems to be forging ahead. Thankfully, they don't pay me to divine economic outcomes, just to fix stuff when it's broken.

Plans for the weekend: Do as little as possible, replace the filter in the farm boss to see if that's the issue, maybe sharpen them if I get the itch.

Y'all stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the weekend!
Prayers to those ailing and recovering!

We're in South Central Virginia and later today and Saturday mid to upper 80's!
Early April and never remember this in 72 years!
I got home last night and the wife had the ac on. Granted it was humid, (storms about), and almost 80, but, it's April. I don't want ac yet. I want windows open and a nice breeze.

Good morning TBN!!
65 this morning. Same temp as 3:30 AM! Upper 80s this afternoon. Could be a record. Slim cahnce of scattered sprinkles.
More tank work PWing. Had to replace the hose as the other split. Had to make sure I told the wife. "This is why I saved that thing that will come in handy someday" Felt pretty good ;)
Spent a few tanks of gas doing that with more to be done.
I have to figure out why the water pump will only start with starting fluid. Even if it only sets for 10 minutes. Starts and runs fine as long as I give it a shot. Another project for another day.
Moving slow this morning procrastinating. Maybe take the day off.

Whatever the day holds it's time for a second cup and to find out
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning! 68˚F heading to the mid 70s, cloudy, 50% chance of needed rain and 80% tomorrow.

Looks like it will be bad Saturday weather for the big two events, the Mega neighborhood parking lot garage sale and the first weekend day of Easter egg hunts and strawberry picking at the "Farm". We have already been advised the work schedule might be changed if "farm" ticket sales succumb to the rain. Looking forward to a nice rain day and seeing the incomplete dry river bed flowing.

edit: one event has been canceled till next week, the neighborhood garage sale. Just got through trimming the front 50 hedges started raining on the last one, still have the back 50 to do.

Morning all, 55 going to 65 and rain.
Son got tagged out last night, so Senior assassins done for him.

Spoke to Uncle, he was more confused than normal, but he got more going when we started talking about travel.

More paperwork, day job.

New Apple and Peach tree look good. Waiting for transplants to leaf out, seem like they are budding ok. Have one more tree to transplant. Need to figure out where.

Started looking at a new truck, started with PHEV, but all of them seem to have software problems or be too small. Trying to get something big but with decent gas mileage.

Be well,

Zoom in to see all the little yellow flowers

Woke a couple times last night with a big BOOM. .6” rain in the 2 cells, and we were on southern edge of the storms. Wouldn’t be surprised if over 2” rain to our north, based on radar.
So I slept in till 10.

Take Tiger to vet today.

Later tonight celebrate 38 yrs of marriage.

Good morning! It's been moving forward albeit slowly.
Dona's bloodwork is SLOWLY coming back towards normal. One thing gets to normal range but then another goes wacky.... Doc says it's a normal progression.

She is scheduled for another thoracentesis next week.... number 10. Every two weeks --- last week they took out 1200ml of fluid. The amounts have been decreasing, so hopefully will continue trending down and won't have to get stuck too many more times.

She had her 5th chemo treatment on Wednesday, it went well (long day, about 7 hours). Then about 6 pm, got a call that her brother passed.

He went peacefully in his sleep, but that was his state for the last couple of weeks. He went downhill really fast. Almost a Godsend.

Needless to say, a lot of emotions across the board. Tough times.

Lots of the flowers popped and half the trees popped some tiny leaves..... so, of course, we are getting rain followed by up to 6 inches of snow tonight! A couple of days of freezing nights and highs only in the 40's, then up to near 60 by Sunday. Hope there isn't too much loss....

We ended up getting a new (to us) truck. Found a 2022 Ram 4x4 crew cab with only 19K miles. Loaded with everything we were looking for, and then some (almost too many bells and whistles). It was a corporate executive lease return from Las Vegas (hopefully no mob connections). Exceptionally clean, not a mark on it. Didn't want to chance the prices getting really wacky and getting priced out of the market.

Dona says: "nothing like driving the living room down the road"..... drives really smooth and is very comfortable.

IMG_1506.jpeg

Didn't get any extended warranty..... not for what the dealer wanted....$4300 !! I don't think so....
They gave me $20K for the Nissan Frontier. I was happy with that considering it was 5 years old and I bought it new for$28K. We got the Ram for $37K, negotiated down from $42K. I think we did ok....

I was really surprised.... Dona knew I had been looking, but SHE was the one that said to find a new truck..... I still have to look at it to confirm that it's real......

Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs BEF!

I still need to catch up on here..... hope everything has been going good for everyone.
