48 and raining. Will stay rainy all day and go to 56.

Sorry you're in a rough shape, Phil. Hope those hands can get back to woodworking soon.

Buppies, hope you can bring Holly home soon. Tough not having your best friend and the love of your life with you. Praying for you guys.

Made a Costco run yesterday since we were low on bird food and my wife wanted to get potting soil while on sale...5 huge bags. Gas was 2.79 and my wife's vehicle needed it. Had their pizza for lunch, two of us ate for $4.

47 outside this AM, may click up a few more degrees. Rain expected on and off.

Have a full house. Between people and wood, no more room to put everyone. LOL. Most will be hitting the road today for the final destination. BIL made it here in just under 15 hours. Not bad. Today will be another prep and staging day.

Hope all have a great start to the weekend. Be safe.

Also opened boxes for the Primeweld equipment and wanted to activate the warranty only to find out it shipped with warranty of 3 years already in effect.

Primeweld customer service is amazing.
I emailed them asking if there was a PDF for the wall chart that came with the MIG 285. They sent me one, but it had both sides on one image. I made it two sided and letter sized so I could laminate it, and sent that PDF back to them. They were so pleased that they asked if I could do the same for some other models. They insisted on sending me a nice pair of MIG gloves, even though I insisted it only took me a few minutes to do them.
Let me know if you would like the pdf, I’ll send it to you if you would like.

Good Morning,
Vt, 32 to start going yo 46 with light snow showers this morning.

Guests got here late morning, we made some sandwiches for them. Kathleen made a beautiful dinner for our guests, country style pork ribs with Mac and cheese with baked squash. Everything was very good. Today we are heading to eastern Vermont, Woodstock and Quechee Gorge area, probably not far from Thomas.

Buppies, thinking and praying for Holly and you family. 🙏

Phil, sorry you’re having problems with acid reflux and arthritis. I’m like Drew, I take one Omeprazol in the morning and usually that takes care of any issues.

There is something sticking up in the board that runs cross ways to the rest of the deck in the pic, any idea what it is?
Mostly, I need to go back and look at that picture, the only thing sticking up should be a 6 by 6 post for the low railing. Will take another look.

Hope all have a great Friday 🙏

Son asked if I wanted to go shooting ride UTV etc. I’ve lost interest if this doesn’t change I’m done
Buppies, you may want to seek out support groups in your county where you can get emotional support from others in the same situation.

Good Morning
40° out there with a high of 45 under a grey sky spitting rain. Not going to change much for the next few days.

Yesterday was another day of puttering, cleaning up and organizing. It’s not a fast process, but everything ends up where it belongs this way.
Spent some time designing shelves for the shed, as well as figuring out what wiring it needed, and where I was going to feed it from.
Did a little bit of 3D printing, I bought a pack of 4 of these thermometer / hygrometers for $1.50 each on Amazon, I printed up stands for them.

Collected all the trash and recycling and filled the toters, son got them down to the road.
Started a fire, made grilled cheese and pork belly sandwiches for dinner along with some chicken corn chowder, and plopped into the recliner in front of the fire until bedtime.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:00AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 74F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.

Bounced around town most of yesterday running errands. Started off at the bank cashing in some '80s era savings bonds. The poor clerk ended up typing in each of those serial numbers at least three times because her scanner thingy kept misreading them. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry, and she grumbled about it being a good thing she didn't order out lunch. Used the funds from the bonds to purchase more Tesla stock, going, in my mind at least, from the most conservative to the most speculative of investments, but it wasn't a lot of money. It's just good to take a swing at the gold ring once in a while.

Got home to find a new Makita string trimmer leaning up against the front door. I knew it was on the way, but didn't think my errands would take so long. Got it put together, and will give it a workout today. Will also get some photos of the Stihl it replaces, for Craig's List and Facebook Marketplace ads.

Not that the ads will do any good, as there seems to be fading interest in those I already have up, including the house up north. The Zillow view counts are half what they were last week, and there haven't been any showings all week, either. I wonder of all of the government turmoil has anything to do with it?

A couple of new signs were also delivered. One for the front door: No Soliciting or Flyers, the other with logos of the delivery companies asking "put the packages here" that will go on a large Knack box on the front porch. The post lady is already using it, but needs coaching on working the hasp lock.

The laptop seems stalled in the FedEx hub in Memphis, but still shows a before noon delivery time here. Bet that's gonna slip.

TGIF gang!

Drew you are right this is whipping me

Had a long conversation with a friend yesterday we are more alike than I ever imagined he helped me and I helped him that’s what friends are for.

The other day had a call from granddaughter of my old grading manager. She said she was on break and needed to check on me. Told me how fond her granddaddy was of me and that he was still alive he would come to my house and put a knot on my head. I sit in the house too much basically doing nothing drive is gone.

Son asked if I wanted to go shooting ride UTV etc. I’ve lost interest if this doesn’t change I’m done
Sometimes the hardest task is to take care of ourselves. But, if we don't maintain our own health, physical and mental, it makes it that much more difficult to take care of others.

With that being said, I understand your pain Buppies, and hope you get things situated. The unexpected twists tend to stress out the regimented schedule, and the brain.

Agree they are amazing. Also the chart is actually not printed on tissue paper with poor translations.
Would love to get a PDF

light rain coming down
spent last hour working on presentation/feedback to give local township farming committee at public meeting next thursday on zoom.
on the future of agriculture in our township. that will likely get me roped into/asked to join the committee but that's ok.
the head of the agriculture committee has never owned a tractor. I think I can help a little here...from the hobby farmer perspective.
almost impossible to support oneself farming locally. Farms are too small, costs too high.

Buppies, what does the material cost that you put in the 3D printer for each battery holder? I bet less than a buck.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 41° to a high of 44° cloudy with scattered showers turning into a rainstorm later this afternoon.

Mowing season has officially begun, Dad mowed the front/back yards before the rain came. So when it dries out on Sunday I'll do...the rest of the place.
Also, there's 12 yards of Tanbark under tarps on the driveway, also need to get around to taking down that tree. Which will require me to fix the Farm Boss as well, shouldn't be hard. Just need to find the motivation. It's been a slow start to a cold spring, there's hints of what's to come out there. Playing 9 holes on Wednesday in the sun shine showed a promising spring ahead.

A few promising places on the radar, but just way too much money requested. Realtor sent me a place, 8 acres, house needs some serious elbow grease: 190k HA! I wouldn't pay 100K for it. Still on the prowl. Just need the market to cool off a little bit so prices will adjust. I think it's already happening.

Mostly, Prayers for your brother as well as yourself and your family. We're always here to listen.
Buppies, don't despair. I, for one, would miss your presence here. Praying for you and Holly as well as your family.

Y'all Stay safe out there and be well!
Prayers for those ailing and recovering!

Morning all, 42 going to 46 and rain.
Took a pic of the tree to send Aunt and cousins who sent it.
Really looks nice, from a local place.

When I was in San Diego dealing with Dad in Hospice and his GF being her usual self.
I took a day to go over to Catalina Island, a mental reset really helps to get refocused on the tasks at hand.

My Cousins Wife's BIL passed away, so they are all down in New Orleans this week for his funeral. Nice guy, only met him a few times.

Still looking at SUV/truck to buy, seems like a lot of the fancier ones are not all that reliable. Need to buy a small trailer too, maybe get one at HarborFreight, the 4x8 or 5x8. Wonder if those boxes would fit in the Jeep, or up on the rack?
I could make it nice with a wood deck and sides and use it on the tractor too.

Be well,

In about 10 years it will max out to 6' by 4' wide. So maybe I can find a space by the pool so it's fenced in. Or make some fancy Nice looking "cage" for it.
