Good Morning
55° headed past 80 partly cloudy, but no rain.

Yesterday was a mix of chores, spent some time at the computer working on remote access and tweaking the cameras.
I use Blue Iris camera software, it’s unbelievably capable, cheap and works with almost any camera. The real price is learning how to set it up and use it. I’ve been using it for over a decade, and I’m still learning. I was tweaking the motion detection and text alerts.
Spent some time 3D printing, gave the little plane some exercise, went to a meeting at the RC flying club field nearby, which yielded today’s project. I’m going to modify a push lawn roller to pulled by a garden tractor.
Not much else planned, but that is always subject to change.

need to go back to Home Depot and get two more red pavers I was short. So I'll get four...
I was one over on the grey ones but undercounted on the reds. Instead of pushing a cart, think I'll just haul a heavy canvas bag in with me, four bricks don't weigh that much, these aren't that big. Easier than pushing that heavy floor cart.
of course where I want to go is the very, very back of the store.

for the first time my phone said I was walking more than usual, after I almost collapsed after a 5000 step day.
unless I want back surgery that's about all I can do. I bet I did 10-15k a day on the farm in NC. I was constantly on the go.
And that's when my back finally let go and I was about to get major spine surgery when my cancer hit.
so never got the surgery. From what I know now, glad I didn't. But I can't do a full day's work anymore without sitting down.
or better, laying down, that's all that calms my back. Going to avoid the surgeon as long as I can. This is not routine knee or hip surgery, it's
major and hard to understand why I keep plugging along. Surgeon said I had a lot of broken bone bits to take out, would be a longer operation. Pleasant thought. I honestly think the low dose steroids I'm on due to adrenal damage
has kept me away from surgery, keeping the swelling down. While I guess I'm grinding those bone bits into smaller pieces. Definitely reminds me to pace myself, be the slow turtle who still gets there.

if I go now I'll just be in commuter traffic so going to do a little foodshopping first, then off for my pavers.
and then home to work on a pretty warm day

hope it's a good Friday for you all
Buppies, shake that cold and feel better

Now at the farm. Got yard mowed, oil changed in tractor, found bolt for loader bracket almost out, another one appears broken off, and 2 just a little loose. tightened the ones I could, the one that was almost out is stripped. good thing there are another 5 that are tight on the bracket. took blade off tractor, will put mower on tomorrow. storm was brewing, did get a little rain from it.
pipeline guys sure been busy, they already have most of trench dug across the farm, 3 more truckloads of pipe came today. see my life on the farm thread for pics of that.
the water line guys left a sxs parked behind our barn... right where we store the blade, so had to put it in another spot..

i had to unload the 600 lb of concrete before i left this morning.

Dealer have the loader off when they worked on it recently?

I have gotten so feed up with Lowes and Home Depot that I very seldom go in now. I'll order online for curbside pickup. Let them bring it out to me. I'm not sure if I'm just getting more intolerant of incompetence or they are just getting more worthless in the stores and just unable to help and then not having adequate cashiers on hand. And to tell me to use the self checkout, hell no.

I agree. And it's not just those two.

Good morning! 1.25" rain last night. 62˚F chance of more rain this afternoon high of 80˚. S wind shifting to the N this afternoon. Pool bots are hard at work after the hail and rain brought down many oak leaves and the rest of the pollen tassels.

Farm has canceled me today, that is good, did not want to deal with the mud today.

I took my leaf vac in for warranty work - broke handle, so will have to use th shop vac on the back patio today.

Mostly I do have a garden in the corner of the yard that I am preparing by adding a lot of organic matter (leaves and grass) it is starting off as red clayish soil. I'll till it in and maybe have a late summer garden as soon as it composts. I'm also putting the bottom of the riverbed soil in the garden that has been composting leaves for 15 years.

Too wet to work on riverbed today.

Morning all, 63 going to 85 and dry, sunny.
I spent a few hours mowing yesterday before the grass gets too high.
Talk about dry/dusty - I thought it was spring. Had to already start watering trees and plants.
Ground is dry and cracked again.

Tomorrow is brewfest at Washingtons crossing and then Kentucky derby at friends house. I will be car pooling with new truck, so I guess not being able to drink has one advantage.
Then Sunday off to LI to my brothers for the family gathering to remember my Dad.

Be well,

Good morning, the low is 41 and going up to 48°F. Wind WSW 12 gusting to 19 mph. Rain.

Gotta go to town today and fill my new gas can up. I think I will go to Sundridge and check out the new auto parts store.
I need a can of bondo anyway. Got some body work to do on the Dodge. I cannot afford to replace it so I might as well keep it looking good.

Time to call my former boss.

Have a safe day all
