Morning all, 67 going to 84 and rain, feeling a bit saturated. Of course no rain in forecast last night..
Have to go pick up the driveway patch, always fun when wet since it's stored outside.
Have a garter snake by the front entry. New house protector.

My son got a letter yesterday, he got accepted to NYU...Now to work out the funding.

Seems the weather does not want me to cut the lawn or cut down the brush out back... :( Maybe tomorrow.

Be well,

nice ride up to NY, challenged by a big tree across the road to the cabin half way up.
waited four hours for friend to get there, he walked to top, brought down a chainsaw
and we got tree removed. Headed back down shortly to cut it up to firewood.
nice weather here in 70's, property very muddy

not much joy with the Gravely, went to hook up utility trailer here and it 's the wrong hitch ball size. Easy to fix. What wasn't easy to fix was when mower engaged, clutch was slipping and no mow. We will try to adjust it this afternoon.
primary purpose of mower is to mow the mile long grass road here, so that was a disappointment it didn't work. And I"m not sure we can fix it, an internal clutch, ?

am going to try to fly drone later, but pics will have to wait til I get home
hope you all have a good weekend. I have a zillion pages to catch up with

64F and cloudy @ 10:15, only calling for a high of 69F for the day. A cooler weather pattern has moved in, looks like it will be here for around a week or so.

Meeting with accountant went well, 2024 tax returns prepped and filed ... except for the local one which has to be mailed and needs a stamp. That will go out today.

After accountant we swung by a car lot and had a look at a new (to us) ride for The Woman ... kinda like this one:

Screen Shot 2025-05-17 at 10.42.42.png

I told Her She would look good in it ... just toss on a little war paint and She would be sportin' ...

She says it's probably "too nice" for Her ...

On the way home we swung by Skyline Chili and grabbed some Cincinnati style chili dogs which we hadn't had for quite a while. Very tasty.

When we got back I headed out on the Cub and started mowing the front lawn and got that about 75% done before I had to quit due to the lower parts being too wet.

She headed out to the grocery store for a resupply of vittles.

Late last night there was a Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued, wasn't long after that it turned into a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and shortly afterwards it blew in. Fairly impressive ...with 70+ mph winds.

Alarming enough apparently for The Little Squeak to come in and get in bed.

Power went out briefly and then came back on but not before I got up to shut the computer and related equipment down and turn off the UPS.

Nearby LWS reports they got another 0.40" ... so probably unlikely any further mowing today.

May take down the remesh panels on the straight trellis and work on getting the cattle panels put up to replace them.

Then start getting some of those brassicas planted.

Some of the tomato seedlings are to the point that they need repotted so will probably try to work that in as well.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

68°F and 1.20 inches rain

Have fuel filter for Mule on order. Might be able to find in town on Monday.

Should be dry enough to open up the gate controller.
Need to start some interior mowing.

Friends coming over this afternoon. Gonna grill some burgers and dogs.

Prayer for all
Be safe
Have a great day

good afternoon, 79 sunny nice day

T6 15W-40 was delivered all 10 gallons

Changed oil/filter on the engine on the Kubota ZD 331. Changed the blades on the mower. One of the blades did not pass the runout test

Cleaned up some more in the barn. Found a couple of Heatkit's that I made more than 50 years ago

The excavator was crunching rocks in the tracks due to dirt buildup. Pressure washed it and now clean except the over greasing at the joints splattered grease on the paint. Need to get something to clean it up. Any recommendations for what to use?

Work on the welding shop continues slowly to progress using recycled material as much as possible and changing my mind and redoing some of it

Brief rain shower as a front line passed through, now variable clouds and breezy.

Up in shop, making more progress on cleaning up the mess.

Probably start notching pipe as soon as I run back down to the house and grab the proper hole saw.

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 0.3C and it's presently 'warmed up' to 1.6C [heading to 13C], calm & clear with frost on the ground. {edit} There was 1.0mm in the gauge from yesterday.

Yesterday the possum was successfully released at the top of St Marys Pass. It was none too happy about the road trip but still wandered off after figuring out that I'd opened the release door.

The meeting was good and I was home by 1330.

I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.
