Good Morning,
Ct, 69 to start going to 82 but I think it will go higher especially if the sun finds its way out 😉

Went out for dinner with another couple last night, nice time but Kathleen’s mojito was lousy, couldn’t even taste the rum. 🥲

Plans for today is to finish putting up the new dipole about 30 ft higher than the first one I put up.

Maybe some swimming later, nothing big planned for today 🙏

Hope all have a grand Saturday 🙏

I've been telling anyone who'd listen for years that our military Generals better get off their duffs, and stray off the beaten path and start drone production. I've said, "They better take a hard look and assess what is happening in Ukraine." Sec Def said also for many of them to be considered "consumables". I'm hoping they will go for cheap mass production. To just overcome the enemy with thousands at a time. Tanks don't stand much of a chance to special drones. Houtis have sunk 2 ships in the Red Sea in the last week, maybe with drones. Probably can buy a really nice drone for what they pay for one 155 howitzer shell with special fuse.
A few years before I retired in 2011 Army was flying drones. A researcher I worked with tried to get a project going to obtain low cost drones with cameras for surveillance. But noone would fund a project that produced a $10,000 solution, everybody wanted a $10Million dollar solution. The contractors made money on a cost-plus per cent basis, the managers got awarded for expensive projects, even if the project failed.

70°F and .06 rain.

Finished that round of mowing. Likely give it a day or 2 before starting again, but to be honest it has grown enough I could just keep going LOL

Likely go to town today, need a few staples and need to replace the head of kitchen pull down faucet. Do’t see how to possibly disassemble. Spray detent has stopped working.

Hope Drew is having a safe adventure.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

89.4F here in the shade @ 11:30, calling for a high of 89F for the day so we're already there. DP 71F, HU 59%, "feels like" temp = 104F.

Mostly sunny at the moment, scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon, chance of rain 50%. An alert for Marginal Risk of Severe Storms has been issued.

Got the rest of the bush bean rows weeded yesterday afternoon.

Soaker hose run on pole beans and winter squash on the west side of the arched trellis for around 45 minutes to an hour at low flow.

Got the last 5 arbs moved onto the patio, set in pans, and watered.

We both knocked off after that and came inside and took showers and got cleaned up to head over to TSC and go out to dinner.

Groundhog appeared before departure, took the opportunity to take a shot. Trigger pulled extremely hard which threw me off, ended up taking out a quarter-sized chunk of the window frame (it's a casement window) ... thankfully did not get the glass.

Groundhog jumped into the air and dove under a pallet then came out and started waddling off towards the woods.

I racked the shotgun to put another round in the chamber, took aim, and squeezed the trigger for the second shot ... and NADA ... so going to need to look into what's going on with that.

After that bit of unfortunate excitement we headed off for TSC.

It was still pretty hot and threatening rain, Woman was not into walking around outside at TSC looking at plants, many of which looked to be poorly cared for ... with raindrops about to fall on her hair. Couldn't interest Her in an apple tree ... mainly because of the effort involved to get them planted.

I did manage to score a few more decent looking plants at a great price:

IMG_3749 copy.jpg

Regularly $14.99 each, rang up at $5.67 apiece, then 75% off of that ... so $1.87 each.

Full/partial sun to full/partial shade ... so will probably go in the planting bed west of kitchen window.

If TSC is going to carry plants, the least they could do is have adequate staffing to keep the stuff watered ... otherwise it just looks unprofessional.

After that we swung by DG mostly for cat treats but came away with some other items as well after what seemed like an eternity.

Then headed off to Eadies Fish House. The Woman had hand-breaded red shrimp and I had the Great Lakes Yellow Perch. I thought both were great ... Woman found Her shrimp to be a little too salty.

Headed home after that, I was falling asleep on the couch by 22:00 ... so I got up and went to bed by 23:00 ... ended up sleeping for 12 hours like a rock.

Probably on account of the Mike's in the afternoon and the Guiness at the restaurant ...

Woman just got back from doing a little "grocery shopping" ... and came back with these sunflowers:

IMG_3748 copy.jpg

She has managed to get Her Amaryllis to bloom ... so there may be hope yet:

IMG_3750 copy.jpg

On the agenda for today:

Mow down here around the house.

Then maybe work on getting the bush beans and those last two winter squash and the last zucchini planted.

Probably more watering.

Otherwise see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday.

A few miles from me, there's a family that apparently loves RED tractors. They put 'em on display along the highway on holiday weekends and they've been out there for a few weeks now. There was a death in the family, so I thought they might've thinned the herd, but I guess not. Pretty impressive.

Highway 3, just east of Allison, IA.

93.7F @ 15:30

All mowing down around the house completed.

Kicked up some dust that actually burned when it got into my eyes, ok though after a good flush with eye drops.

Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for neighboring counties to the west - Ashland, Erie, Lorain, Medina, Wayne - with the line of storms moving to the east and storms tracking northeast.

Going to finish up my leftover perch and onion rings and hopefully watch some raindrops fall.

71 and 97% humidity, going to 92.

Kyle, changing oil until midnight...that's devotion and work ethic. I still use that so-called horse pee in my truck. 😁 🐎

Got a few small things done yesterday but mainly was a Tex-Mex lunch and Costco run. Dee-lish, and Costco was running smooth even on a Friday afternoon, with road construction out front on the highway.
like Tex Mex... Breakfast place has breakfast nachos, has potatoes, tomatoes, eggs, cheese, jalapenos, spring onions, salsa, sour cream.

Had a good breakfast, spent long time talking.
90 deg, mowed all the yard. don't have any gas in cans, but didn't run out, so I know I can do at least 2 full mowings on a tank.

With a modern system with an inverter drive for the compressor and electronic expansion devices, you can go oversized and get great dehumidification. It also has the benefit of producing more heat from an air to air system because of the greater capacity.
yes, but he said that is a $40K solution for a mitsubishi. He said no one has bought one from them yet.. I aint got that to spend, so will do $15K for a old school Trane unit, which is still ridiculous in my book.

Sorry about your drummer.

If that faucet head is from one of the majors, chances are that it has a lifetime warranty. We have one like that and we are on aerator #3. The first replacement I bought, before I realized it had a lifetime warranty, the second (#3) was sent promptly for free by the manufacturer when I contacted them.

All the best,

Peter

Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 0.6C and it's presently 'rocketed' up to 12.7C @0800! It's currently overcast and calm, however there's a wind warning for this late arvo accompanied with a shower.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour from now and then the rest of the day is His.

That's about it, take care all.

Town run went good. Got my nuts tightened up so the money pit is legal again.
Got the roots dug up and cut off. Not going to get more compost until next Wednesday or Thursday. R&R for the next couple of days.
I was wondering what you were talking about for a minute. Your post was innocent but could have been naughty at the same time

warm and sticky in Lancaster, fun day with friends
they have a 8 year old Mastador, cross between mastiff and Labrador
would feel right at place at Sodamos home. 150 pounds of solid dog.
I brought them some primo chicken jerky chews for Zoe.
when done just looked up as to say what's next?

hope to have quiet evening and headed home in the morning, likely in wet weather but
having little traffic on a Sunday morning will make it worthwhile. I figure I have to wash the rv anyway when I get home, and if I leave in the rain, means the roads are simply a highly diluted solution of horse poop. My friend says they clean their fenderwells often. Lot of carriages here, all kinds. probably will see a bunch tomorrow morning as they head off to church, which apparently is usually at their leader's home on a farm

the farms here are beautiful
did a lot of shopping, got all my take home goodies like shoo fly pie, and snickerdoodles and some whoopie pies. All to be given away. Too much sugar for me.
I got some pickled beets for myself

running out of steam, thankfully had coffee this afternoon but up since 5am and going constantly. Has been a nice trip to see lifelong friends.
have lots of pics to post tomorrow including a horse drawn threshing machine in action

Take it whatever way you want. ;)

Had liver and onions for supper with a side of rabbit food. Frozen yogurt for dessert.

Just turned the el cheapo A/C on a bit ago. Sure is humid out.

Sever thunderstorm watch and possible tornado. Hopefully it only comes 20 miles north of me.
